[korganizer] [Bug 489620] New: Events duplicate identity name in <>

2024-07-02 Thread Anthony Messina
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=489620

Bug ID: 489620
Summary: Events duplicate identity name in <>
Classification: Applications
   Product: korganizer
   Version: 6.1.0
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
   URL: https://github.com/cyrusimap/cyrus-imapd/issues/4955
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: invitations
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: amess...@messinet.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Events created with KOrganizer duplicate the identity name inside <>, which
creates confusion for downstream applications that don't properly parse the CN
and turn it into an email address: "ORGANIZER;CN=Anthony Messina ". Additionally, the invites are sent From: "Anthony Messina " "

While it may be technically OK do do this, duplicating the identity name
doesn't seem to serve a purpose. Please don't duplicate the identity name in <>
brackets in the From: or the CN.

Workaround
Akonadiconsole -> Personal Contacts -> Directory could be adjusted, but at

2018-10-31 Thread Anthony Fieroni
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=398027

I try to investigate, delete item ends in session delete command that is
serialized of generated protocol. So depend of protocol it tries to mark as
read to the corresponding server but this cannot be done if your account is not
same in current mailbox and in Google. It became endless loop, so *i think*
(i'm not seeing in the code) should be try with current account on
corresponding server not in google one.

Tangentially related to this issue; is it better to use SSL or TLS when a
server offers both? I've changed to TLS to 'work around' this current issue,
but I wonder if I should just leave it that way, even when SSL is fixed.

OK, checked port and restarted Akonadi. Got a popup saying that the message
was sent successfully. On the console where I restarted Akonadi, I got message
saying "org.kde.pim.ksmtp: Socket error: 2".

In any event, the test email(s) went through, so it seems to be working for
TLS; I will leave it on that setting.

Happening for me as well. It says either "Server error" or something about
"mail transport failed". Nothing in any logs that I can find. The SMTP server
used is GMail.

[kmail2] [Bug 352464] Regression kMail 5.0.0: HTML mails do not show external images

2016-02-04 Thread Stephen Anthony via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=352464

As of the following updates to Ubuntu 15.10 (backported from 16.04):

Version 5.0.2
KDE Frameworks 5.18.0
Qt 5.5.1 (built against 5.5.1)

this problem is fixed for me. I don't know if it was the new Kmail, or some
other component that interacts with Kmail, but everything is fine now.

(In reply to Laurent Montel from comment #13)
> I can see it .
> I show external url and I show it.
> So what is the problem ?
> it's not automatic to show external url but it's normal

The problem is that whether or not I have "load external references" enabled,
the image never appears, as shown in the attachment in comment 12.

I have sent an email containing a link to a small PNG image from my personal
webserver directly to your email address, Laurent Montel. I didn't know if
there was a way to include the message here, so I sent it directly. Hopefully
it won't be marked as SPAM.

Note that in kmail, I cannot view the image in the message from the 'Sent'
folder, but I can see it when using Thunderbird.

[kmail2] [Bug 352464] Regression kMail 5.0.0: HTML mails do not show external images

2015-11-04 Thread Stephen Anthony via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=352464

Has anyone figured out what other package(s) on the system that could cause
this? I *really* don't want to reinstall. I can confirm that installing from
scratch in a VM does work fine, and the images appear as they should. Can
anyone point me in the right direction as to what package could possibly cause
such an issue??

are built in a way which prevents creation of proper backtraces, or the stack
frame was seriously corrupted in the crash.
