Just two days ago I manually moved the (old) new emails into the cur accounts. Do this already for the last 6 month's. Since 24 hours I have removed these messages manualy (Midnight Commander) from new to cur and did not have any crash of kmail. Will report in a week :) if this is this is a temporary solution.
