[kontact] [Bug 327865] Endless fetch loop with favorite collections
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=327865 --- Comment #3 from Christian Mollekopf mollek...@kolabsys.com --- (In reply to comment #2) Could be fixed by this [0] patch, not sure whether it is still valid after Christian's changes though (or whether it was ever valid at all ;-) [0] https://git.reviewboard.kde.org/r/112958/ I'm not quite sure if this should be required. But there are a couple of different problems to tackle anyways: * The first issue is that we get a dataChanged signal for the collection when fetching items, while we should only get rowsInserted. For this I have a patch ready here: https://git.reviewboard.kde.org/r/113992/ That already fixes the endless loop. * The second problem is how the selection proxy reacts to legitimate dataChanged signals. It looks like every dataChanged signal explodes into each selection proxy dereferencing and rereferencing all favorite collections. This of course clears the buffer if you have a couple of favorites. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=327865 --- Comment #6 from Christian Mollekopf mollek...@kolabsys.com --- After some more research it looks like it's not the KSelectionProxyModel that breaks the refcounting. If all favorite folders are removed the referencing works as expected, with always the previously selected collection getting dereferenced, and the newly selected collection getting reference. In this case a dataChanged signal also doesn't cause any selection changes. However, as soon as favorite folders are added to the mix, we get the reference/dereference cycles as above and a dataChanged signal results in all favorite folders getting wildly referenced and dereferenced as shown above. Since it's neither the favoriteCollectionModel nore the SelectionProxyModel itself, I suspect the responsible code is somewhere in kmail. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

[kontact] [Bug 327865] New: Endless fetch loop with favorite collections
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=327865 Bug ID: 327865 Summary: Endless fetch loop with favorite collections Classification: Unclassified Product: kontact Version: 4.11.3 Platform: unspecified OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: grave Priority: NOR Component: mail Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Reporter: mollek...@kolabsys.com The fixing of the buffering in the ETM exposed a new bug, that result in an endless fetch loop if you have more than 10 favorite collections. The basic loop is: * dataChanged get's triggered for all favorite collections * this results in rootIndexAboutToBeRemoved in KSelectionProxyModel respectively Akonadi::SelectionProxyModel * Akonadi::SelectionProxyModel dereferences the collection * since this is done for all collections, the currently selected one falls out of the buffer again = it get's purged * The selection proxy references the collection again after the dataChange is done * items are fetched again * dataChanged is emitted again = endless loop Note that the endless loop would happen in any case with the selection proxy, but if there are less than 10 folders in there, the buffering keeps the currently selected folder from being purged. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=327865 --- Comment #1 from Christian Mollekopf mollek...@kolabsys.com --- Two problems is probably that an itemFetch shouldn't trigger dataChanged for the parent collection (we have rowsAboutToBeInserted signals for that). [Akonadi] [Bug 322871] mail filters do not work for incoming messages if the destination folder of the pop3 resource is not the inbox
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=322871 --- Comment #3 from Christian Trippe christiande...@web.de --- Hi Andras, do I understand you correctly that this is supposed to work after an akonadi restart? This bug is not about mails not beeing moved to the destination folder of a pop3 resource. This works fine. I did not even check if this only works after a restart of akoandi, but about mail filters not working in this setup. I can stll reproduce the following with KDE 4.11 Setup a pop3 resource with destinaton folder A (!=inbox) and A not beeing a subfolder of the inbox but on the same level, e.g. direct subfolder of the local folder. Setup a filter to only apply to messages from this pop3-resource (this means do not apply it to the local folder resource). This filter should move the message to the folder B which is a subfolder of A. Now receive a message which should be moved to folder B by the filter. However the message will end in folder A. However I agree that this issue is miner. Committed on 06/11/2013 at 11:30. Pushed by cmollekopf into branch 'KDE/4.11'. Fixed refcounting in ETM and Monitor This is a combination of several commits in order to fix the buffering in the ETM. In particular it incorporates the following changes: 1. Fixed fetching of items that exited the buffer after being referenced. After a collection exits the buffer after being referenced, the monitor no longer emits updates for this collection. It is therefore necessary for the ETM to refetch the items to get missing updates. 2. (regarding the removal of the MAXITEMS limit) Don't keep outdated copies of items. A collection is purged if reference counting is used and a collection exits the buffer after being referenced. By not purging the items, it becomes possile that we miss updates, and when refetching the collection because it's referenced again, we don't emit change notifications because the items were in the model already. Since we anyways have to fetch all items, we can as well purge all items. Alternatives: * compare revisions and emit change notifications if necessary in itemsFetched * Still emit notifications in the monitor for modifications only 3. Only buffer a collection after the refcount reaches zero. Before, a collection that was dereffe'd at least once would already be buffered (although the refcount is still 0), resulting in the buffer being occupied by reffe'd collections (which is pointless). So the html part of the mail is complete, but the plaintext version is for some reason truncated, leading to the conclusion that the html-plaintext conversion failed. Unfortunately the mail is not available for testing (private content), but it is apparently rather long and contains a lot of quoting (it's a conversation). Reproducible: Always -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
[kmail2] [Bug 291890] Kmail2 ignores signatures of inline PGP messages
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=291890 Christian Boltz kde-b...@cboltz.de changed: What|Removed |Added CC||kde-b...@cboltz.de --- Comment #6 from Christian Boltz kde-b...@cboltz.de --- I listed some details in https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=667717#c8 copypaste from there: -- Your link was quite helpful - removing the log-file option solved the problem and KMail displayed the inline-signed mails as signed. But now to the interesting part - who added this line? # tail ~/.gnupg/gpg.conf ###+++--- GPGConf ---+++### utf8-strings debug-level advanced log-file socket:///home/cb/.gnupg/log-socket ###+++--- GPGConf ---+++### Fr 27 Sep 2013 17:51:54 CEST # GPGConf edited this configuration file. # It will disable options before this marked block, but it will # never change anything below these lines. Note that the mentioned time is very close to comment #6. What did I do before writing the comment? Well, I checked what the GnuPG Log watch (binary watchgnupg, GnuPG-Protokollanzeige in german KMail) tells me about an inline-signed mail. And indeed, after starting GnuPG log watch again, I have a fresh log-file socket://... line in gpg.conf - and KMail no longer displays the mail as signed. So basically this bug consists of 3 bugs: a) kwatchgnupg changes the gpg.conf in a way that breaks KMail (by adding the lines quoted above) b) kwatchgnupg does not undo its change at exit, which means the then dead socket stays in gpg.conf c) KMail does not display any notice about the failed gpg call - it should display a yellow border and tell me that it couldn't check the signature) For c), see also [1] from comment 7: If the output from STDERR cannot be parsed due to an error in gpg, kmail internally does not set the flag that the mail was signed at all BTW: I wasn't aware that some KMail developers listened to my 1001 bugs - or: the golden rules of bad programming talk at oSC11 or LinuxTag 2012. Rule 21 said: Users hate error messages Conclusion: never print an error message. Fail silently instead ;-)) -- To make it clear: The reproducer is to start kwatchgnupg which adds the log-file socket:///home/cb/.gnupg/log-socket line to ~/.gnupg/gpg.conf -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
[kmail2] [Bug 312460] Kmail can not show correct number of unread mails
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=312460 --- Comment #59 from Christian Mollekopf mollek...@kolabsys.com --- (In reply to comment #58) I already have one report claiming that no notifications are visible in the Notification Monitor at all, which either means that akonadiconsole has a bug, or that the server emits no notifications for the new email. Apparently akonadiconsole doesn't display any notifications in that case, so there seems to be an additional bug there. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
