my mails are store locally under a directory name "FREE TELECOM" built by
declaring my pop account as imap account otherwise they would drop in "local
folder/inbox". This modification is strange because the Free operator proposes
only pop account

when opening an account it is not possible to customize it if it is of pop
type. With imap account no problem as I can get a directory with all the
typical sub-directories with inbox, sent, etc... This setting is not possible
with pop account.

OBSERVED RESULT
impossible to create a customized directory for all e-mails of this pop account

EXPECTED RESULT
like imap account

I am using Kmail2 with Kubuntu and I dot know about any link between Kmail2 and
GTK. What I can see is that the Kmail2 text editor is apparently the same that
ask for a password for gparted and synaptic applications. The question is what
is this text editor and why has it been chosen for Kmail2 as I am not using an
external text editor. I which I could check the kmails configuration file for
my user but I do not know where to search. Can you help me.

I cannot edit a new message as the keyboard is not seen. The same in kmail
settings where there are text fields to be filled. The only way to edit a
message is to use another text editor like kwrite or kate and then paste the
text where I want to. Same for the email address etc...
The same problem occurs when I want to use synaptic or gparted as I cannot
enter the password. In this case I can bypass the problem by using the sudo
command in a console.
The problem is obviously related to the text editor used in these cases. Please
help me.

Sandro after removing all scripts if I set ingpg-agent.conf:
pinentry-program /usr/bin/pinentry-kwallet

it is still hanging after kwallwallet question for password. Therefore I still
think that the problem is in the way the passphrase is stored in kwallet and
retrieved from kwallet

--- Comment #6 from Daniel Moyne daniel.mo...@free.fr ---
Yes Sandro regarding the use of a specific script in
/home/dmoyne/.kde/Autostart/start-gpg-agent.sh
It seems useless as it is trated where you say I will remove it.

Now I have also a script to shut it down in .kde/shutdown
What do I do with it?

All these scripts were proposed at one time on internet. Now apparently they
are uncecessary.

The idea to use kwallet to store the passphrase is documented in gpg doc
somewhere and I find it comfortable to be avoid answering the pasphrase
question that is all.

pineentry-kwallet is a program included in kwalletcli allowing to set and getr
passwords in th default KDE wallet (kwalletmanager). Once th KWallet is
activated once by a password, all passwords will be retrieved from it like for
accessing a protected bak site, pop mail, etc... You no more have to answer the
passphrase each time when sending a signed message.

You said You use SMIME Keys, right?
Sandro how can I verify this?

if I replace pine-entry-kwallet by pine-entry-qt4 it works fine but of course
it does ask for the pass phrase each time. I think the problem is with
pine-entry-kwallet that does not properly store information and threfore when
sending a signed message the pass phrase cannot be retrieved. How can I test
the way the information is stored in kwallet for each new key?

[kmail2] [Bug 317358] sending signed messages with gpg no more works

2013-10-06 Thread Daniel Moyne
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=317358

--- Comment #3 from Daniel Moyne daniel.mo...@free.fr ---
I am using keys that worked before built with the normal procedure with :
gpgsm --gen-key

and anyways it is not a problem of keys as as explained in my bug report if I
do this in a konsole :
eval `gpg-agent --daemon`
kmail
it works and without asking for anything.

But if I use the normal way with, when opening a KDE session, execution of the
following script start-gpg-agent.sh located in /home/my_user/.kde/Autostart
and containing this :
#!/bin/sh
eval `gpg-agent --daemon`
it does not work when trying to send a signed message. The first time it opens
a window saying that KWallet CLI has requested to open kdewallet. When I
follow the procedure nothing happens: the message is never sent.

The question is for me as user what is the difference between konsole procedure
asking for nothing and the normal one when after opening my kde session I use
kmail?

What is more surprising is that if I open a konsole right after opening my KDE
session if I do :
echo $GPG_AGENT_INFO
I get someting like this :
/tmp/gpg-hywGcN/S.gpg-agent:3873:1
but if I open Kmail in this konsole sending a signed message does not work. I
all cases in my konsole I have to do :
eval `gpg-agent --daemon`
each time before executing kmail.

This configuration problem arose when I migrated from kubuntu 13.04 to 13.10

where start-gpg-agent.sh contains :
#!/bin/sh
# to use gpg in kmail
if grep -q '^use-agent' ~/.gnupg/gpg.conf; then
eval `gpg-agent --daemon`
fi

But if in konsole I do :
eval `gpg-agent --daemon`
kmail
it does work

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. use start-gpg-agent.sh in /home/dmoyne/.kde/Autostart
2. log though kde
3. try to send a message with gpg signature using pinentry-kwallet
Actual Results:
no gpg working

3.8.0-14-generic. No problems with kernel 3.8.0-13-generic.

András,
this bug does not show-up anymore ; however I will try to answer your questions
:
(1) collecting the mail means : clicking on the Check Mail button !
(2) folder strucure : what do you mean what is built in my kmail application?
(3) agents in akonadiconsole : after opening the Agents tab with
akonadiconsole I see the following agents :
akonadi_mailtransport_dummy_ressource_2
akonadi_mailtransport_dummy_ressource_3
FREE
Mail Dispatcher Agent
LA POSTE
Local Folders
Mail Filter Agent
Archive Mail Agent
Labels
Boîte ossau
Akonadi Nepomuk Feeder
akonadi_mailtransport_dummy_ressource_0
akonadi_mailtransport_dummy_ressource_1

all with the ready button

Of course this is the present situation which may be different from the one
corresponding at the bug presence ; though do you see anything wrong with this?

I had a hard time to uderstand what import does ; whe I click on it a dialog
box opens apparently to get a target but with an empty field with no file type
; I suggest here to start first with the selection of the filters to iport
before opening the dialog box with a name that can be built from the filter
selection for example filter1,... with the file type on text ; add also on the
edited filter Export this filter which is what the people need most of the
time.

[Bug 298181] add title of messagesright window

--- Comment #2 from Daniel Moyne daniel.mo...@free.fr ---
folder name through path name, that is to say something like :
Dossier Locaux/.../.../name_of_directory_displayed
The advantage of this is that the top of the right window being always visible
the user knows all the itme which content is displayed.

The subject - if you mean subject of a particular message- is of no interest to
be displayed in this title when for example this message is selected in the
folder.

[Bug 295011] New: bad process by filter on sent messages

2012-02-28 Thread Daniel Moyne
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=295011

Summary: bad process by filter on sent messages
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 1.99.0
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: daniel.mo...@free.fr

Version: 1.99.0 (using KDE 4.8.0)
OS:Linux

I have this type of filter that on detection of [Généalogie] must move
received messages and sent messages that contain [Généalogie] in subject in a
dedicated folder : no problem with received messages but this time on sent
messages I received a notitication saying that the sent message (where the
filter is applicable) was correctly moved to the dedicated folder but the it
was moved back in sent-messages folder. If the I apply manually the filter
to the message located in sent-messages folder it is coorectly moved to the
dedicated folder as supposed to be done from the very beginning.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
- build a filter acting on both sent and received messages that moves messages
containing [Généalogie] in subject by moving messages to a dedicated folder.
- send a dummy message with [Généalogie] in subject

Actual Results:
message stays in sent-messages folder

Expected Results:
sent message moved to a dedicated folder

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 3.2.0-17-generic
Compiler: gcc

I would say maildir only but after opening akonadiconsole and for example aking
for properties of the folder local-folder (Dossiers locaux) le window that
pops-up does not tell explicitely ! Where to check ?

For you information the error message appears once in a while and eventually
desappears.

Other bug I hve a French setting but some folders still have english names like
inbox, outbox and even at the same time sent-mail + messages envoyés
and draft + brouillons ; can I clean this?
Thanks

I wish I knew how to do that with Kmail that apparently does not propose
anything to save a particular mail with a menu ; alternatively I could send
directly a copy of this bad mail to you ?
Thanks

   Version: 1.99.0
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: daniel.mo...@free.fr

Version: 1.99.0 (using KDE 4.7.4)
OS:Linux

Apparently the folder tree is arranged by alphabetical order but with some
exceptions as some key folders like sent-messages, dust-bin, models,
drafts, messages-to-be-sent (translated from french) are on top in the
layout ; one key folder messages-received though follows the alphabecical
order. In my case there is no possibility to move it up ; could you please
propose some features on any folder like :
- reorganize in aphabetical order,
- move-up,
- move-down,
- lock,
- etc...
and authorize drag and drop to position a folder whertever the user desires
within its children.

For the time being there is a drag and drop option showing a horizontal line
where with move here or copy here possibilities that do not work at all but
that would at least fulfill parts of desired features listed above.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
try to move a folder in layout

Actual Results:
no way ; present layout is a combination of alphabetical order and exceptions
for SOME key folders

Expected Results:
To tal freedom to position folder wherever desired

In my case the action of some filters is to change the target folder of some
messages which is one of the typical expected action of filtering ; when those
messages are received I get a notification (as set in KDE settings) saying that
the message is in the reception box though it is not there due to the filtering
action ; each message should get its proper notification with final destination
which might be the dustbin which might be multiple folders in case of copy ; to
summerize to read a message the user has to know where it is ; we might add in
the notification the name of the filter that made an action on the message

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
filter with copy or move actions

Actual Results:
messages no more in reception folder

Expected Results:
notifications more detailed as to final destination and filtering action on
each received message ; we could extend such procedure to notifications
associated to sent messages

Please propose a procedure to reinstall properly kmail2 ; something like :
- saving data in archive,
- clearing all folder architecture,
- clearing all identities,
- clearing all accounts,
- reinstalling the minimum folder structure in the proper language,
- reinstalling identities,
- reinstalling accounts,
- migration of data in a temporary folder in the new folder architecture for
the user to move those internally within the new structure.

This whould at least demonstrate tha you have full control of data location and
data strucure of kmail2 for users like me in trouble due to the new changes ;
after this you may start to think to redevelop kmail not around akonadi + msql
+ nepomuk but from what a kmail client is supposed to propose as features for
users ; for example there is no justification for a filtering process when
opening kmail ; filtering is supposed to take place immediately when either
sending or receiving mails ; when you change the definition of a filter or
create a new one the user is not supposed to loose control of the application
for a while as there no logics in those except for some obscure akonadi
specifications ; etc ...

Reproducible: Didn't try

Actual Results:
an application that shows regression

Expected Results:
an application where the user has full control of its valuable data not
supposed to be mishandled as is now

how to archive my existing data but how to clear everything like inbox,
sent-mail and trash folders that appear redundantly with their french

[Bug 284256] New: possibility to rename or delete any folder

2011-10-17 Thread Daniel Moyne
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=284256

Summary: possibility to rename or delete any folder
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 1.99.0
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: daniel.mo...@free.fr

redundancy of inbox and boîte de réception folders

Version: 1.99.0 (using KDE 4.7.2)
OS:Linux

As Kmail2 was installed not using the proper way to to migration failure of
data I ended up with typical english names and customized names for folders ;
though I can use customized french names as targets (avoiding like this use of
english names) I wonder why it is not possible to either renames those english
folders or simply delete them (in such case target would be defaulted to the
root of local folder)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
particular problem though reported by other users that have used tricks after
data migration failure

Actual Results:
folders of no use

Expected Results:
typical customized folders without redundancy with a set in another language

provide a way to either delate or rename folders with warning messages if
nescessary or propose a fix

[Bug 283737] kmail2 awfuylly slow when opening

2011-10-12 Thread Daniel Moyne
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=283737

--- Comment #2 from Daniel Moyne daniel moyne free fr 2011-10-12 09:51:07 ---
yes now I have a mix between typical english names like sent-mail and boîte
d'envoi for example with noway to get rid of the english folder or renaming
the english one ; how can I fix this mess.

I have to say that migration failed at first and then as Kmail2 could not open
without crashing after wards I used the following trick :
- new user,
- open kmail2 with no data to migrate,
- move setting data (see in previous message), in root mode between this user
and my user,
- migrate data with the main menu.

This is how I colud get a kmail2 working caotically with my data without
knowing where is now my data stored.

[Bug 283712] New: setting of kmail2 very confusing

2011-10-10 Thread Daniel Moyne
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=283712

Summary: setting of kmail2 very confusing
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 1.99.0
  Platform: Unlisted Binaries
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: daniel.mo...@free.fr

Version: 1.99.0
OS:Linux

I have folders like inbox and sent-mail though I have french language
selected !
I take the opportunity of this message to bring forward the following issues
after upgrading to kubuntu 11.10 :
(1) data location
In kmail2rc there is no more a line like :
folders[$ie]=${KMAIL_HOME}
which allowed the user to control where he wanted his data to be (in particular
not in /home/the_user/... ; in my case I could even have on the local net 2
machines accessing the same data through nfs ; apparently now I have lost
control of this.
(2) bogofilter
Before with bogofilter I was sorthing out spam and non spam mails in specific
folders Spam and NonSpam ; from time to time I was training bogofilter with a
script with commands like :
bogofilter -sv -B $dir_data/Spam/cur
bogofilter -nv -B $dir_data/NonSpam/cur
where $dir_data=KMAIL_HOME/.Bogofilter.directory
How can I manage this now as I have lost control of the data location.
(4) migration
As it did not work I had to rebuild a fresh new Kmail2 app with a new user ;
then copy the configuration files of this user (including akonadi, kmailrc,
local-mail, !) to my user and then migrate data with Kmail before moving these
folders where I wanted within Kmail ; but I ended-up with some folders where I
could not put French names !

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
I experience the same migration failure when trying to upgrade fom kubuntu
10.04 to 10.10 ; in this case as my /home partition became too big I had to
give up upgrade and reinstall kubuntu 10.04.

Actual Results:
I can send and receive mailsbut I don not have a consistent achitecture of
folder names ; size of my /home partition is now close to 100 % very likely
due to migration mail data where I did not want it to be

Expected Results:
control of data location was expected

Now when I open my Kmail2 application I have to wait for some time before being
able to use it for example collecting my pop mail

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
open my kmails app and wait for it to be usable

Actual Results:
regression compared to classic kmail app that was usable as soon as run

Expected Results:
at least as efficient as previous version ; for me in such state unusable

still some incoherencies in folder names after migration of my kmail data

Version: 1.9.6 (enterprise 0.20070907.709405) (using KDE 3.5.8,
Kubuntu (gutsy) 4:3.5.8-0ubuntu3.1)
Compiler: Target: x86_64-linux-gnu
OS:Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.22-14-generic

very strange as in .../config/kmailrc :
folders=...
does not accept system variable such as :
folders=$KMAIL_HOME
where of course such variable has been initialized up front (in .bashrc for
example)

The only variable accepted is $HOME

Can this be fixed ?
