Wow, it took nearly 12(!) years until I got the first response to this bug and
now YOU start nagging me after 15 days!?

I've been using Linux for more than 25 years now and have opened countless
tickets in countless projects during those years, but tickest like this one are
the reason I stopped doing so for KDE many years ago.

@KDE Team: Please stop telling people that opening bug reports is a welcome way
to contribute to the project if you're not willing/able to reply to those
reports in a timely manner (even a "wontfix" is better than waiting 12 years).

Summary: Editing an address nearly impossible, cursor jumps to
the end after one changed character
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.10.4
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: composer
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: dirk.heinri...@altum.de

Whenever I try to edit an address the cursor jumps to the end of the input
field after one character and needs to be placed back to enter the next
character, then it jumps again, and so on...

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Compose a new mail
2. Pick a receipient address
3. Edit that address
Actual Results:
Cursor jumps to end after one keystroke.

Expected Results:
Cursor stays where it is to allow continuous input of characters

I 've selected Arch packages, but I've seen the problem in other distributions,
too

I have user $HOME on an AFS volume. Even after the shortest network outage
(when switching from wireless to wired, for example), kmail stays unusable when
connectivity is restored. It doesn't load another mail when I click on it, it
doesn't switch folders, nothing. The only way out is to quit kontact, kill all
akonadi processes and restart.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run kmail with users $HOME in AFS
2. Disconnect and reconnect network
3. Try to still use kmail
Actual Results:
See above.

Just wanted to report this bug, because I still see this behaviour in
kmail/akonadi as of KDE 4.9.3. This is an IMAP account and I only use the spam
filtering functionality of kmail, everything else is filtered via sieve.

However, all mails which are automatically detected as spam (bogofilter) are
moved to a junk folder on the IMAP server by kmails spam filters and arrive
there twice. All the mails that I personally mark as spam are also moved, but
those appear there only once.

So I guess it's not quite fixed in 4.9.3.

OK, maybe I was wrong with that (but I could bet it once was the same :) ). But
that doesn't change anything. Behaviour is inconsistant in knode compared to

2012-09-11 Thread Dirk Heinrichs

1) Have an IMAP server available which is configured to allow Kerberos/GSSAPI
authentication.
2) Make sure users can get kerberos tickets from a kerberos server (kinit, then
klist to verify).
3) Start kmail and create a new IMAP account to access the IMAP server above.
4) In the "General" tab, enter account detail, w/o password (you don't need
one, because of kerberos).
5) In the "Advanced" tab, set "Authentication" to "GSSAPI".

The resulting account will not be functional, you'll get a message: "Resource
is broken. This resource is now offline", and the account will be
offline.

Yes, it is an online account. I tried with another and I can confirm that with
this user filtering works fine with an offline account and does not with an
online account. However, with my other account, after enabling offline mode and
disabling it again, I can't get the filtering to work anymore (that is:
filter's are not applied although they're activated).

Maybe I'll recreate that account completely and see what happens...

akregator (4.7.3) on KDE Platform 4.7.3 (4.7.3) using Qt 4.7.4

While I didn't have this problem in 4.7.2, I see it now after update to 4.7.3.

- What I was doing when the application crashed:

It's the same as for the other reporters: I closed a tab in akregator.

   Product: kmail2
   Version: 2.0.89
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages

Screenshot showing the GSSAPI connection error.

Version: 2.0.89 (using KDE 4.6.1)
OS:Linux

While old style kmail worked fine with GSSAPI, akonadi does not, see attached
screenshot.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Create an IMAP resource with GSSAPI authentication in akonadi, start kmail.

Actual Results:
No IMAP connection is established, see screenshot.

Expected Results:
Have an IMAP connection with GSSAPI authentication and read my emails w/o using
thunderbird :)

Thanks a lot. But why not put it into /tmp/ksocket-, where other kde
related sockets are already stored, automatically? It shouldn't be the users
responsibility to configure this (many users don't even know what a socket is,
I guess).

[Bug 210171] kmail and kwallet password dialogs stopped working

--- Comment #1 from Dirk Heinrichs 2009-10-11

Looks like the problem came from updating QT to 4.5.3. After downgrading back
to 4.5.2 everything was back to normal.

Summary: kmail and kwallet password dialogs stopped working
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.12.2
  Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR

OS:Linux (i686) release 2.6.31.3

Since a few days, whenever a user needs to enter a password in either kmail's
or kwallet's password dialog, only "Cancel" button works. Clicking "Ok" has no
effect and the dialog stays on the screen.

Just found out that if I enable "Prefer HTML over plain text", the newsletters
are shown correctly.

Summary: Kmail doesn't show some HTML emails

OS:Linux (i686) release 2.6.30

I sometimes receive email newsletters which are in HTML format. The newsletters
from one specific sender are not shown in kmail, while Thunderbird shows them
just fine. Kmail only shows a message from within the mail itself, telling me
that my mail client is not capable of showing the real newsletter content.

I can attach or forward an example mail if needed.

However, it still restarts after login, even though neither kontact nor kmail
itself was running at logout time.
