https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=412751 Florian Evers changed: What|Removed |Added CC||florian-ev...@gmx.de --- Comment #8 from Florian Evers --- Hi, same problem here. I noticed that sync of calendar data with my baikal server stopped. Fiddling through the apache logs and with the help of the "akonadiconsole" tool I found "RRULE:ERROR: No Value" entries causing the baikal server scripts to fail. Here, it is enough just to add a new calendar entry in "kontact", giving it just a name and some arbitrary duration, and kaboom. [kmail2] [Bug 394599] New: KMail generates duplicate requests when opening URL
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394599 Bug ID: 394599 Summary: KMail generates duplicate requests when opening URL Product: kmail2 Version: 5.8.0 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: misc Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Reporter: florian.lind...@xgm.de Target Milestone: --- Hello, I've come to notice an problematic behavior of KMail (and probably of other KDE applications, too) of opening URLs. My systems default browser is Firefox. When I click on a link in a mail, KMails seems to do a request, followed by Firefox: some IP - - [04/Feb/2018:20:50:17 +0100] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 200 5200 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) KHTML/5.42.0 (like Gecko) Konqueror/5 KIO/5.42" same IP - - [04/Feb/2018:20:50:18 +0100] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 200 5200 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:58.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/58.0" I wonder why KMail at all is doing a request in contrast to just handing the URL over to the browser. This behavior can be problematic with verification tokens, e.g. I wasn't able to complete an ordering process with hetzner.com until I copied/pasted the link to Firefox. It also breaks the Discourse Forum one-click update, Eurowings booking informationen and account confirmation at senderscore.org. Shut down Kontact, if it is running 1. Start Kontact 2. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=335254 --- Comment #2 from Florian Reinhard --- Yes you know that you send a short url, but in first place you don't know that kmail (and maybe other mail programms) are going to mark this mail as scam! So the user (stupid users like me) should be informed that they are about to produce a mail that looks like scam to kmail. I don't know if i am able to explain my self well enough. It just does not make sense to be able to send a mail without warning that is detected as scam by your very own mail program. What i would expect is: 1. click send 2. kmail does the scam detection on the composed mail 3. inform the user that this mail looks like scam and what makes it look like scam. Just like the dialog you get when you click on "(Details...)" in the scam notification of an incoming mail 4. optionally re-edit the mail or send it anyways -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=326493 Bug ID: 326493 Summary: kmail working but completely unresponsive to user input Classification: Unclassified Product: kmail2 Version: unspecified Platform: Debian stable OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: crash Priority: NOR Component: UI Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Reporter: flor...@schanda.org.uk We are seeing a *very* strange problem. We have a number of identical computers with identical KDE setups from Debian stable. On one of them, every once in a while kmail stops responding to user input. It has *not* crashed. For example it responds to dbus messages, and the automatic mail check still works (and the user interface is redrawn). However any user input (keyboard, mouse both movement and clicking) is simply not processed, as if it was never sent to the window in question. Other kde and non-kde applications (for example emacs) on that system work fine. Clicking the "close window" button in the title brings up the "this application is not responding, would you like to kill it" message. I have never seen anything like it and am at a loss of what to do and how to start debugging this problem. We have tried to identify differences in the setup/usage for that user and came up with two things: a) they use focus-follows-mouse b) they sometimes login from another computer W.r.t. (a) we have disabled focus-follows-mouse and the problem still persists. On (b), they sometimes log in from a different computer and have ignored the message "there is already a running instance of kmail". I thought we eliminate this by making sure no kmail or related kio processess are running and then starting kmail again. Again, the problem still persists. We have recently tried deleting all config in .kde relating to kmail, but the problem still persists. Do you have any idea what is going on?
