Hi,

same problem here. I noticed that sync of calendar data with my baikal server
stopped. Fiddling through the apache logs and with the help of the
"akonadiconsole" tool I found "RRULE:ERROR: No Value" entries causing the
baikal server scripts to fail.

Here, it is enough just to add a new calendar entry in "kontact", giving it
just a name and some arbitrary duration, and kaboom.

Like Tim Schäfer, I'm also running Gentoo Linux with the same most recent
software versions.

Interestingly, libical is missing here! No package is pulling it in as a
dependency anymore.

Florian

[kmail2] [Bug 394599] New: KMail generates duplicate requests when opening URL

2018-05-23 Thread Florian Lindner
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394599

Bug ID: 394599
Summary: KMail generates duplicate requests when opening URL
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.8.0
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: misc
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: florian.lind...@xgm.de
  Target Milestone: ---

Hello,

I've come to notice an problematic behavior of KMail (and probably of other KDE
applications, too) of opening URLs. My systems default browser is Firefox. When
I click on a link in a mail, KMails seems to do a request, followed by Firefox:

some IP - - [04/Feb/2018:20:50:17 +0100] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 200 5200 "-"
"Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) KHTML/5.42.0 (like Gecko) Konqueror/5
KIO/5.42"
same IP - - [04/Feb/2018:20:50:18 +0100] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 200 5200 "-"
"Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:58.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/58.0"

I wonder why KMail at all is doing a request in contrast to just handing the
URL over to the browser.

This behavior can be problematic with verification tokens, e.g. I wasn't able
to complete an ordering process with hetzner.com until I copied/pasted the link
to Firefox.

It also breaks the Discourse Forum one-click update, Eurowings booking
informationen and account confirmation at senderscore.org.

Same here. I configured KMail2 to prefer HTML to plain text. This is what
happens:

# Preconditions

- Kmail configured to prefer HTML to plain text
- Message preview enabled (besides the message list)
- HTML status bar enabled

# Steps to reproduce

0. Shut down Kontact, if it is running
1. Start Kontact
2. Click on a HTML email in the message list

# Expected result

The email is shown in HTML format in the message preview.

# Actual result

The plaintext view is used, even though I enabled to prefer HTML to plain text.

# Additional info

When I double click the email in the message list, the standalone message
window opens and shows the email in HTML format (expected result). Then, when I
close the standalone message window, click on another email in the message
list, and then go back to the first one, HTML format is used (expected result).
However, if I restart Kmail/Kontact, then again KMail ignores the "prefer HTML"
setting.

This bug still exists for KOrganizer 5.1.3 with KDE Frameworks 5.23.0 on Ubuntu

IMHO Korganizer (or Akonadi) needs to update the calender before showing the

present on shutdown.

[kmail2] [Bug 360194] New: Archiving takes current date, not date of messages

2016-03-07 Thread Florian Lindner via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360194

Bug ID: 360194
Summary: Archiving takes current date, not date of messages
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.1
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
   URL: https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=215&t=131413&p=3
52785
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: commands and actions
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: florian.lind...@xgm.de

When KMail set to archive to a yearly folder, it archives messages based on the
current date, not on the message's date.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set up the IMAP account to archive messages to a folder named after a year.
2. Archive a message from last year.

Actual Results:
Archival is done based on current date.

Expected Results:
Archival should be done based on message's date.

Is there a fix for this? I ran into a similar issue. I'm connecting to a 30 GB
IMAP mailbox. Until today, I used the option "download messages for offline
use". I totally understand that Akonadi then uses the same amount of disk space
as my mailbox is.

However, now I unchecked the "download for offline use" option and restarted
Akonadi. But I do not know how to tell Akonadi to free the disk space.

I think I got it.
I installed akonadi-dbg and after stopping akonadi and executing akonadictl
start in a terminal window I got some debug output.

It looks like filterin works in the first place, since there are thousands of
searches running before it crashes.
At the end I get this message

2015-01-03 Thread Florian Kraus
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=342443

Bug ID: 342443
Summary: akonadi_mailfilter_agent crashes when filtering for
address book entry
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 1.13.0
  Platform: Debian testing
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED

I created a filter that should move all mails from members of my contacts to a
IMAP directory.
When I run that filter manually the agent crashes with this message:

[kmail2] [Bug 338645] New: Custom autocorrection: Cursor does not jump to end of replaced string

2014-08-29 Thread Florian
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=338645

Bug ID: 338645
Summary: Custom autocorrection: Cursor does not jump to end of
replaced string
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.13.3
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: composer
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: floesc...@gmx.net

In German language "mfg" is a shortcut for "Mit freundlichen Grüßen" - a common
way to end E-mails and letters. I added this as a custom word replacement entry
for the German language (mfg → Mit freundlichen Grüßen).

When I type "mfg", mfg gets replaced as expected, but cursor jumps to
the end of the first word ("Mit"). The rest of the replaced string is then
shown in a new line due to the .

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Setup the word replacement as described
2. Create new E-mail
3. enter "mfg" and hit enter
Actual Results:
Mit
freundlichen Grüßen

Expected Results:
Mit freundlichen Grüßen

Probably another bug: Word replacements do not work anymore if you switch
identity while composing a message.

  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

my setup / steps to reproduce:
- imap folder (thats what i've tested with)
- some mails in the folder with attachment
- some mails in the folder without attachment
- make the column "attachment" visible
- click on it to sort in ascending descending order

what i would expect:
- when the arrow in the attachment-column points upwards: list all mails that
have an attachment first
- when the arrow in the attachment-column points downwards: list all mails that
do not have an attachment first

[kmail2] [Bug 335254] Scam detection does detect scam, but composer does not warn when sending scam

2014-05-24 Thread Florian Reinhard
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=335254

Yes you know that you send a short url, but in first place you don't know that
kmail (and maybe other mail programms) are going to mark this mail as scam! So
the user (stupid users like me) should be informed that they are about to
produce a mail that looks like scam to kmail.

I don't know if i am able to explain my self well enough. It just does not make
sense to be able to send a mail without warning that is detected as scam by
your very own mail program.

What i would expect is:
1. click send
2. kmail does the scam detection on the composed mail
3. inform the user that this mail looks like scam and what makes it look like
scam. Just like the dialog you get when you click on "(Details...)" in the scam
notification of an incoming mail
4. optionally re-edit the mail or send it anyways

- What I was doing when the application crashed:

connecting to an imap server using a cacert.org certificate (class3) there's
the popup that the cert can't be validated:
- cacert.org root and class3 have been added using "kcmshell4 kcm_ssl", so
first i wonder why it still can't validate the certificate
- i had a look at the details

So, I am totally tired of waiting for that simple thing to come back. My best
bet now is that the kdepim developpers do not actually use their own software,
or maybe they can read emails in the blink of an eye, pick your option.

[kmail2] [Bug 326493] New: kmail working but completely unresponsive to user input

2013-10-23 Thread Florian Schanda
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=326493

Bug ID: 326493
Summary: kmail working but completely unresponsive to user
input
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: UI
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: flor...@schanda.org.uk

We are seeing a *very* strange problem. We have a number of identical computers
with identical KDE setups from Debian stable.

On one of them, every once in a while kmail stops responding to user input. It
has *not* crashed. For example it responds to dbus messages, and the automatic
mail check still works (and the user interface is redrawn). However any user
input (keyboard, mouse both movement and clicking) is simply not processed, as
if it was never sent to the window in question. Other kde and non-kde
applications (for example emacs) on that system work fine.

Clicking the "close window" button in the title brings up the "this application
is not responding, would you like to kill it" message.

I have never seen anything like it and am at a loss of what to do and how to
start debugging this problem. We have tried to identify differences in the
setup/usage for that user and came up with two things:
   a) they use focus-follows-mouse
   b) they sometimes login from another computer

W.r.t. (a) we have disabled focus-follows-mouse and the problem still persists.

On (b), they sometimes log in from a different computer and have ignored the
message "there is already a running instance of kmail". I thought we eliminate
this by making sure no kmail or related kio processess are running and then
starting kmail again. Again, the problem still persists.

We have recently tried deleting all config in .kde relating to kmail, but the
problem still persists.

Do you have any idea what is going on?

Thanks,
   Florian

Two of 16 context menu items of any IMAP folder are server-side / local
subscriptions. I propose to remove these two items from the folder context menu
and use them only on the top-level account name folder.

Subscriptions are not related to a single IMAP folder but to the IMAP account.
The dialog window which pops up and manages subscriptions is also not related
(like current folder being preselected) to folders.

16 menu items are a lot and I think these two belong to the IMAP account only.

When the mail dispatcher has been offline, as a result of a an authentication
failure or for some other reason, the next time an email is to be sent, it will
ask twice for going back online. The first time is normal because the mail
dispatcher is offline, but even after pressing "Yes" there is a second popup to
ask if the mail dispatcher should be put online.

[kmail2] [Bug 322823] imap(s) doesn't work at all after upgrade to kmail2

- just installed kubuntu 12.04 lts with kmail 4.8.5 => works
- upgrade to kubuntu 13.04 with kmail 4.10.5 => works
- delete imaps account and readd it => doesn't work (same problem as with my
Debian installation)

So it seams that it's impossible to add any imaps account in kmail 4.10.5 and
that the debian migration also corrupts the imaps accounts.

After upgrading to kmail2 and the following kmail account migration my imaps
account didn't work any more. It just showed blank folders. I deleted the
account and tried to re-add it - but now it doesn't work at all. In the
configuration dialog kmail2 detects that my server only supports SSL/TLS over
port 993. But after the configuration it still says "no server configured yet"
in the "incoming accounts" section. I even tried to enable imap with the same
results.

So imap doesn't work at all for me since upgrading to kmail2...

[Bug 309873] New: Mail Dispatcher Agent forgets about SMTP accounts passwords

2012-11-10 Thread Florian Fainelli
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=309873

Bug ID: 309873
  Severity: normal
   Version: 4.7
  Priority: NOR
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
Summary: Mail Dispatcher Agent forgets about SMTP accounts
passwords
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
  Reporter: f.faine...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Ubuntu Packages
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Component: general
   Product: kmail2

When I send some emails with kmail2 the mail dispatcher agent sometimes forgets
about my SMTP password, and prompts me for re-entering it. There is no
particular thing to do to make it prompt me for a password, besides sending
emails. There might be some kind of 24h delay after which the password is
forgotten.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Compose a mail
2. Send the mail
3. Mail Dispatcher Agent prompts for the SMTP password
Actual Results:
The Mail Dispatcher Agent does not retain the SMTP password

Expected Results:
Mail Dispatcher Agent should retain the SMTP password
