Hi Christophe,

This kdepim version is not maintained anymore. Retry with kdepim 4.7.0

After installing kdepim 4.7.0 from Ubuntu experimental, running into
numerous problems, and seeing how many people on the mailing lists are
having similar, fundamental issues, I'd like to ask you to please
reconsider.

If you declare KMail1 unmaintained while KMail2/Akonadi has not reached
production quality, you are effectively leaving KMail users without
alternatives but switching to other mail clients.

Thanks,

Georg

[Bug 279432] New: Error while uploading message (unexpected end of data) when applying filters

2011-08-05 Thread Georg Wittenburg
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=279432

Summary: Error while uploading message (unexpected end of data)
when applying filters
   Product: kontact
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: mail
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: georg.wittenb...@gmx.net

Created an attachment (id=62569)
 -- (http://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=62569)
Screen shot of error message

Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.7.0)
OS:Linux

I have KMail setup to automatically sort mails into (cached) IMAP folders when
checking for mail by using local filters. This has worked well with my mail
provider (gmx.net) in all versions of KDE prior to 4.7.

Since I upgraded to 4.7, I'm getting an error message every time a message is
moved by a filter: Error while uploading message (unexpected end of data), also
see attached screen shot. I'm seeing this on two separate machines, and guess
it's rather unlikely that my mail provider fiddled with their server exactly
when I upgraded to 4.7. Hence, something must have changed in the way KMail
handles incoming mail via disconnected IMAP.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Use a local filter to move your incoming mail between folders.

Expected Results:
It should just work. (tm) :)

[Bug 273710] New: Kontact Crash

2011-05-20 Thread Georg Wittenburg

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

Kontact (KMail view) was running as a inactive window without any activity,
i.e., no mail was being fetched in the background. The active window of Firefox
was partly overlapping the Kontact window. Kontact crashed when I clicked on
the inactive Kontakt window to transfer the focus from Firefox to Kontact. It's
hard to reproduce but happened more than once.

Since this happens only on a new laptop, desktops effects were disabled due to
minimize problems related to driver instability. Related output from lspci:

Still present in 4.4.1. Actually, now you have to close the dialog _three_
times.

[Bug 203220] New: Keyboard shortcut for Copy assigned twice in mail viewer

2009-08-09 Thread Georg Wittenburg
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=203220

Summary: Keyboard shortcut for Copy assigned twice in mail
viewer
   Product: kmail
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Debian testing
OS/Version: unspecified
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: georg.wittenb...@gmx.net

Version:(using KDE 4.3.0)
Installed from:Debian testing/unstable Packages

Copypaste is slightly broken in the mail viewer component of KMail.

How to reproduce:
1) Start Kontact / switch to KMail
2) Double-click on any mail to open it in a separate window
3) Select some text in the new window
4) Press Ctrl-C
- You get an error message about the keyboard shortcut being ambiguous.

When looking at Seetings-Configure Shortcuts... in the same window (!), you'll
see that there are actually two (!) entries for Copy, both of which are
mapped to Ctrl-C/Ctrl-Ins.

I guess there should only be one entry in the shortcut list for Copy to make
everything work as expected.

Unfortunately, I can still reproduce this with KMail 1.11.0. I'm using Debian
experimental packages: kmail 4:4.2.0-1, kontact 4:4.2.0-1, kdelibs5 4:4.2.0-3,

Hope this helps...

Ok, for me it is happening when I use the Akonadi resource (doesn't happen if
 I
 use the normal resources).
I have sub-todos, if that plays a role here.

FWIW, I'm also using the Akonadi resource and I also have some (completed)
sub-todos.

I just had several crashes of Kontact 4.1.86 (using unofficial Debian packages
from kde42.debian.net version 4:4.1.86+svn902265-0r1):

1) Crash when restarting Kontact after a DIMAP folder was deleted in the
previous session. Kontact briefly display a dialog about whether the folder
should be deleted on the server, then it crashes. Starting the KMail
stand-alone application worked fine and worked around this issue.

2) Crash after confirming the dialog about whether all mails in a folder should
be moved to the trash.

3) Crash after confirming the dialog about whether the trash should be emptied.

opening one bug report; please split up as necessary.

Version:(using KDE 4.0.83)
Installed from:Debian testing/unstable Packages

In KDE3, there was a subtle border around the list item of the mail that is
currently being displayed. This was very helpful when multiple list items (=
mails) were selected, as one could always tell which mail one was looking at.

This feature is missing in KDE4 (4.0.82). I guess it's not directly related to
KMail, but rather the implementation of the list widget (or maybe even
theming), so I'll leave it up to you to re-assign this wish to the correct
module.
