[Akonadi] [Bug 316419] Filter action "move into folder" sometimes duplicates email

2013-05-20 Thread Ian Powell

Opensuse 12.3 KMail Version 4.10.3 Using KDE Development Platform 4.10.3
"release 563"

I use auto filters to move all my incoming emails directly to their respective
folders. When they are moved to folders which are described as mailing list
folders, i get the occasional duplicate emails every time i open kmail, this
includes duplicate threads.

BUT i don't get duplicates when emails are moved to Wastebin by Filtering.
I get a lot of spam emails (100+ per day) from japanese sites so its all in
japanese and i put together a filter that catches each one and moves it
directly to the Wastebin folder. I never seem to get any duplicate emails in
the wastebin folder. I check this manually scrolling through checking for
duplciate dates/times as running "Folders/Remove Duplicate Mails" doesn't work.

Hope this may help.

regards

Ian

[Akonadi] [Bug 318233] Remove duplicates takes lots of time and then doesn´t remove the duplicates anyway

I can confirm that they do not get removed.
If i select all emails in a folder with Ctrl-A then select "Folders/Remove
Duplicate Mails" from the menu, its runs for a while and no duplicates are
removed.

Same here on opensuse 12.2. I managed to clear the error with advice from Will
Stephenson at Suse.
Right click on clock, "Digital clock settings", Calendar page, "Display
events", uncheck that.

I have 2 other logins on the same machine and they don't get this error when
the "Display Events" is checked.

[Bug 299989] New: Sender Identity

2012-05-14 Thread Ian Powell
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=299989

Bug ID: 299989
  Severity: normal
   Version: 4.8.3
  Priority: NOR
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
   Summary: Sender Identity
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
  Reporter: ianse...@dsl.pipex.com
  Hardware: openSUSE RPMs
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Component: folders
   Product: kmail2

I set my folder properties to use a specific Sender Identity and when i reply
to an email, it always puts the default identity in the "From" area in the
reply compose window so i have to change it manually.

Bug looks similar to no: 253355 that was resolved in 2010.

[Bug 299265] New: Total number of filter criteria variable

2012-05-02 Thread Ian Powell
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=299265

Bug ID: 299265
  Severity: normal
   Version: unspecified
  Priority: NOR
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
Summary: Total number of filter criteria variable
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
  Reporter: ianse...@dsl.pipex.com
  Hardware: openSUSE RPMs
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Component: filtering
   Product: kmail2

I created 9 items to for the filter to operate on, (any of them).
When you press Apply, it removes the last one.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create 8 filter criteria (all plus signs to add new criteria are now
disabled)
2. Press Apply to save
3. Close Filter dialog
4. Select "Configure Filters"
5. Now allows you to create a 9th (the green plus signs are enabled)
6. Create 9th filter criteria (all plus signs to add new criteria are now
disabled)
7. Press Apply and 9th filter criteria disappears.
Actual Results:
Filter still works

Expected Results:
Expected the "green plus signs" to be disabled when total number of criteria
reached rather than allow you to add more and let the "Apply" action remove the
excess.

After I had opened all the unread emails in the "inbox", the count in the
folder list said i still had one unread. I set the view to show all unread but
it was completely empty.

It wasn't until I pressed "Check Mail", the "missing" unread email actually
appeared in the "inbox".

Something out of sync, i think.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start kmail
2. Read all emails
3. Sometimes unread count not = zero when no unread emails in folders
Actual Results:
inbox shows a count of (1) (or more)

Expected Results:
inbox (no count shown)

[Bug 245943] Not downloading all POP3 emails

2010-09-09 Thread Ian Powell
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=245943

--- Comment #2 from Ian Powell 2010-09-10 00:24:49 ---
I've now changed to using fetchmail to get the mail from the ISP and using
Kmail to get it from the local user mail database. This now works properly as
fetchmail has retrieved all the outstanding mail as well as getting all the new
mail. It looks like an issue within kmail getting emails.

Thats unfortunate. Ingo told me that the kmail team is too small to
check/deal with the bug list so it may take a long time before its looked at.
I've got a major bug in the list where it does not even retrieve the emails,
it gives me a weird email instead of the actual email.
Patience is your friend

Ian

Kmail does not retrieve all emails from my POP3 mailboxes, it replaces a lost
email with a dummy email with strange content. Between the "===" lines is a
copy of the content of the strange email substitute.

2009-10-05 Thread Ian Powell
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=209501

   Summary: "Inline" not forwarding attachments
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.12.2
  Platform: SuSE RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: ianse...@dsl.pipex.com

Version: 1.12.2 (using KDE 4.3.1)
OS:Linux
Installed from:SuSE RPMs

As there is no way to set "inline forwarding" as default, i added the "inline"
button to the toolbar. If i forward an email with attachments (jpeg, jpg etc)
via the inline option (menu or button) the recipient does not get the
attachments.
It works fine using "forward as attachment" but i do not like to send (or
receive) an email where you have to open the attachment to read the forwarded
email, it adds more steps to the process.

Cancel this "bug" as there is a "Move Thread to Wastebin" option.
I think "Delete Thread" is confusing to have as an option because I think that
all deletes should end up in the wastebin.

When deleting a thread via the "Delete Thread" option on the menu or via an

appear in Kmail's wastebin folder.
