Hi, unfortunately I cannot reproduce this bug because the RSS feed you linked
no longer exists. Please could you link another feed that does not work? I've
tried various feeds and they all seem to work fine.

2023-10-25 Thread Jack
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=476097

Bug ID: 476097
Summary: display entries from different addressbooks in
different colors
Classification: Applications
   Product: kaddressbook
   Version: 5.24.2
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: ostrof...@users.sourceforge.net
  Target Milestone: ---

If kaddressbook is configured with multiple address books, entries from all of
them are displayed in the same color, and cannot be easily distinguished
without clicking a single entry and looking at it's details. In korganizer,
events from different calendars are displayed in different (configurable)
colors. I would love a similar feature in kaddressbook.

Kaddressbook 5.24.2
KDEFrameworks 5.110.0
Qt 5.15.10

Ping. Bug 449024 was "fixed" over a year ago, but the problem either persists
or has returned. The calendar in Thunderbird seems to sync OK with gmail, but
KOrganizer doe not, at least not predictably.

I also have this issue. I'd like to add that the issue can be reproduced by
opening the Settings menu and toggling "Show Menubar".

Also, I have observed the following (these are true regardless of whether the
menubar is shown/hidden):
1. For me "ctrl+m" brings up a dialogue saying that the shortcut is ambiguous
(opening the shortcuts dialogue shows that there is only one action bound to
"ctrl+m")
2. The "Show Menubar" toolbar button does nothing (but it does display itself
as pressed/unpressed)
3. Custom shortcuts set to "Show Menubar" do nothing, but this action is synced
with the pressed/unpressed state of the toolbar button

Currently happening with 5.19.1(21.12.1).

I have what I think is the same problem, and it has recently gotten worse, on
both Gentoo and Artix Linux instances. The Artix system has been doing it for
several weeks, but the Gentoo system only started this within the past days.
Previously, when I started KOrganizer, no events were shown at all, and the
Google stuff was NOT shown in the list of calendars/items in the lower left
pane. At that point, I could Settings/Configure KOrganizer Calendar tabs,
select Google Groupware and click Restart. and all calendar items would appear,
and the Google items showed up on the lower left pane list. Now, when I click
Restart, it briefly shows Retrieving Tasks (0%) and never does retrieve
anything.
The Akonadi log shows:
-
org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: Subscriber "AgentBaseChangeRecorder -
94412740835952" disconnected
org.kde.pim.akonadicontrol: Restarting application
'/usr/bin/akonadi_google_resource'.
org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: New notification connection (registered as
Akonadi::Server::NotificationSubscriber(0x7f8c9c04fa50) )
org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: Subscriber
Akonadi::Server::NotificationSubscriber(0x7f8c9c04fa50) identified as
"AgentBaseChangeRecorder - 94654227339024"
org.kde.kgapi: Bad request, Google replied ' "Contacts API is being deprecated.

https://developers.google.com/people/contacts-api-migration.; '
org.kde.pim.google: Got error: KGAPI2::ContactsGroupFetchJob(0x5616679d8200)
"Bad request."
-
when I click Restart.

I am not intentionally requesting to sync contacts, so I'm not sure why it's
trying to retrieve them.

I can delete the Google Groupware entry and re-create it with no errors, but
am still unable to retrieve any actual data.

I see that popup (in English) on occasion, but only one time, when I start up
Plasma, at which point KOrganizer may or may not show any of my events (all
should be from the Google Groupware calendar) see also bug 449024 for that
problem, although I don't think they are related, as this happened even before
it stopped retrieving the Google calendar data.

[korganizer] [Bug 391735] New: Recurrence end after X occurrences does not count excluded dates

2018-03-11 Thread Jack
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=391735

Bug ID: 391735
Summary: Recurrence end after X occurrences does not count
excluded dates
   Product: korganizer
   Version: 5.6.3
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: recurrence
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: ostrof...@users.sourceforge.net
  Target Milestone: ---

(I only noticed this with weekly occurrence, so I am only assuming it happens
with other periods.)
If I create an event with weekly recurrence, ending after 6 occurrences, it
gets created correctly. If I then add an exception on the second occurrence,
the last date does not get extended by one week. I claim that a date marked as
an exception, is no longer an occurrence, so the end date should be extended by
one more period. If you claim this works as desired, then please convert this
bug to a wish list for 1) change text to "after X period" (rather than
occurrences) and add an option so that adding an exception does extend the last
occurrence. Perhaps this could be a pop-up when adding an exception to a
recurring event by count: "Do you want to extend the final occurrence by one
period?".

What?

The point is to actually sign, but to retrieve the password from kwallet when
doing so.

As I recall this is how kmail used to work before this bug appeared.

Users shouldn't have to type the password for their GPG key each time they send
a signed mail, and they didn't use to have to.

Same for me. I collapse the old email in the list from november and on every
new start kmail reopens the november emails.
My kmail is Version 1.13.5.

Same problem here. Occur after updating as mentioned in OP.

I too think the workaround is unintuitive.

There are lots of demands, needs, and consumers posting recently and not many
contributors and community members.

We can all sit and squawk like hungry chicks or we can contribute to the
solution.

Demanding and complaining isn't very constructive.

Why not set up a bounty, learn to fix it yourself, get together a petition,
find out what's really stopping progress etc.. You'll get what you want faster
that way I reckon.

I think that bounties are a good idea for this bug. Clearly doing nothing is
not going to help the situation, and pledging money is a good way of showing
that users care about the problem and are prepared to support patch.

I started a pledgie campaign to allow people to formally pledge funds. Being
unable to find anyone else to provide a paypal account to act as the recipient
I have used my own, from which I will obviously pass funds on to whoever is
decided to have succeeded in implementing a patch if indeed anyone does.

See the link at the top for more info.

[Bug 199542] New: New journals are not saved when 'ok' button is clicked - no warning given

2009-07-09 Thread jack
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=199542

Summary: New journals are not saved when 'ok' button is clicked
- no warning given
   Product: kontact
   Version: 1.4.2
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: samt...@hotmail.com

Version: 1.4.2 (using KDE 4.2.2)
OS:Linux
Installed from:Ubuntu Packages

Journal entries using templates are deleted when OK is clicked to add it and
you navigate away to another date.

To replicate:

In kontact, click the 'journal' icon on the left hand side.

select a date on the calendar and click new journal.

Click manage templates, click to highlight a template, and click apply
template.

Enter some extra text if you want or just leave it with the preformatted
template.

Click OK.

Click on another date.

Click back on the date for which you just created a journal.

Its gone - no trace that it ever existed.

I suppose that this could be a 'feature', but it seems like a bug to me. When
you click OK you can see the entry in the window on the right which makes you
think that its there, but click away to another date and its deleted.

I've been making journal entries for a week now and just realised that they've
all been lost in this way.

Thats the bug, hope this helps to fix it.

[Bug 194961] New: Kmain fails to open some emails and crashes if those emails are double clicked

2009-06-02 Thread jack
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=194961

Summary: Kmain fails to open some emails and crashes if those
emails are double clicked
   Product: kontact
   Version: 1.4.2
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: samt...@hotmail.com

Version: 1.4.2 (using KDE 4.2.2)
OS:Linux
Installed from:Ubuntu Packages

Sometime when viewing emails in kontact, emails do not display in the bottom
window for viewing despite single clicking on them. Single clicking on other
emails will display them properly, but certain ones will not. When these
certain non-displaying emails are double clicked on (in order to open them in a
separate pop up window for viewing) Kontact crashes with the following output.

Which emails cause this behavior seem to be random. However, next time this
happens I will try and find which email caused it on that occassion and paste
the html of that email here in case something in particular is triggering it.

This is a fairly frequent problem, I encounter it about three or four times a
day at the moment (with fairly heavy office use).

Application: Kontact (kontact), signal SIGABRT

[Bug 39097] Better handling for error messages and dialogs

This bug has been annoying me too. I had KMail setup on my laptop, but when my
laptop is not online I got annoyed by being inundated with pop-ups informing me
what I already know. KMail should use dbus to find out if it is online or
offline and automatically set itself in online or offline mode accordingly.
When it is online and the mail server is not reachable, KMail should fail more
gracefully than interrupt the users entire desktop experience for something
that is unlikely to be more important than what he or she is currently doing.
