[kmailtransport] [Bug 443130] New: smtp password is not updated if modified after first time setup

2021-09-29 Thread Jacopo De Simoi
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=443130

Bug ID: 443130
Summary: smtp password is not updated if modified after first
time setup
   Product: kmailtransport
   Version: 5.18.1
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: wilder...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Setting up a new smtp resource works correctly, and the password is stored for
subsequent usage. However, if I modify the password using the UI, the old
password is still used to try to make a connection.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. setup a new smtp account, storing the password
2. check: the account works correctly;
3. modify the password in the configuration options

OBSERVED RESULT
the old password is still used for communicating with the smtp server.

EXPECTED RESULT
the new password should be used for communicating with the smtp server.

[kmail2] [Bug 381392] When changing outgoing identity on replying, signature is not updated

2018-05-08 Thread Jacopo De Simoi
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=381392

--- Comment #5 from Jacopo De Simoi <wilder...@gmail.com> ---
A weird bug was introduced by this commit. I have not yet found a proper way
to reproduce, but flipping through my identities (which may or may not have
signatures) now occasionally removes *all* whitespace from the body of the
email.

Does this sound familiar? Otherwise I'll try to figure out a way to reproduce

[kmail2] [Bug 392143] [regression] ”Save attachments…” is not offered anymore if multiple messages are selected

2018-03-23 Thread Jacopo De Simoi
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=392143

--- Comment #4 from Jacopo De Simoi <wilder...@gmail.com> ---
I am afraid I am not doing anything too strange.
In the message list, when only one message is selected, the context menu (right
click) provides the option Save attachments…; as soon as one more message is
selected, the option is hidden (sometimes with a noticeable delay so that I can
actually see it in the context menu for a split second before disappearing)

I tried to debug it myself, but I have an hard time understanding where, in the
source, the action is added to the context menu.
I could only find “Save attachments” in src/searchdialog/searchwindow.cpp:241,
but this is unrelated.
If you point me to the method where the actions are updated, I can have a look
myself

Thanks for your time

--- Comment #2 from Jacopo De Simoi <wilder...@gmail.com> ---
I run gentoo with Qt 5.9.4 and I can reproduce the bug on the following two
version combinations:

Kmail 5.7.3 - Frameworks 5.44.0
Kmail 5.7.3 (git Applications/17.12 branch) - Frameworks (git master)

yes, I am able to reproduce with master from yesterday; my laptop has been
syncing for several hours
and, despite all mail is already there, akonadiserver and dbus-daemon still eat
up to 100% cpu for no apparent reason.

[Bug 228716] New: Add a way to pause/resume/stop the process of applying filters.

2010-02-27 Thread Jacopo De Simoi
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=228716

Summary: Add a way to pause/resume/stop the process of applying
filters.
   Product: kmail
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: unspecified
Status: NEW
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: wilder...@gmail.com

Version:(using KDE 4.4.0)
Installed from:Compiled From Sources

Applying filters to a quite large number of messages (i.e. in the case they are
/really/ necessary) can be (atm) quite time-consuming and it seems to take
place in the GUI thread.
I suggest to
1) move this task to a secondary thread, not to block the UI
2) allow the user to pause/stop the process

Thanks

It would be nice to be able to drag and drop a folder from the folder tree view
on the tab-bar to open the folder in the target tab or in a new one if dropped
on the empty part of the bar, pretty much as konqueror does with links.
