One observation: As soon as I click to remove the affected IMAP account from
KMail, I see a prompt for the IMAP password pop up, but it instantly goes away
again. This is reproducible.

Somehow, KMail has lost the ability to talk to my IMAP server, which is a
dovecot server, version 1:2.2.27-3ubuntu1.4 on Ubuntu Artful

The connection is set up as an SSL connection on port 993.

On the local console I see:

org.kde.pim.kimap: Connection to server lost 9
org.kde.pim.imapresource: Session login cancelled
org.kde.pim.kimap: Connection to server lost 9
org.kde.pim.imapresource: Session login cancelled

many times over.

In the log on the server I see

Oct 23 22:44:02 ida dovecot: imap-login: Disconnected (no auth attempts in 0
secs): user=<>, rip=, lip=, TLS handshaking: Disconnected,
session=

both repeating themselves endlessly until I kill kmail

The same setup works find in Thunderbird, K-9 Mail, Evolution and did word find
with Kmail until recently.

I tried to add a gmail account which has 2step auth with Google authenticator
codes enabled. When the oauth dialogue comes up, during the initial account
setup, I enter my credentials and finally the six digit google authenticator
code and the dialogue closes before it shows the page where I can grant
permission to akonadi to access my account. A few seconds later the oauth
window comes back and I have to do the same allover again, again, the dialogue
closes immediately after I entered the 6 digit code but before I am prompted to
grant permission to akonadi. And so it continues. Only after I disable 2 step
verification, it works, but of course that's a security whole that I would
rather see fixed.

[kmail2] [Bug 364625] New: subscribed IMAP folder not shown

2016-06-21 Thread Johannes Rohr via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364625

Bug ID: 364625
Summary: subscribed IMAP folder not shown
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.2.1
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: folders
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: jor...@gmail.com

I have a folder called "Ham", where I put false positives for training
spamassassin. For some reason, the folder is not visible in KMail. It is there
in Thunderbird and oder IMAP clients. In Kmail I have tried both manage server
side subscriptions and manage local subscriptions. In "manage server side
subscriptions" (or whatever its exact label in English is), the folder is
present. In "manage local subscriptions" it isn't, and there seems to be no way
of reloading the list

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Look at folders list
2. Inspect IMAP subscriptions
3. Inspect local subscriptiions

Actual Results:
folder is missing from the folders pane

Expected Results:
folder should be there

All folders are there in other mail clients (tried mutt, roundcube,
thunderbird). What is a bit special about the Ham folder is that a cronjob
feeds the messages to spamassassin and then moves them to the inbox, but I
guess this should be the cause of Kmail's behaviour

[Akonadi] [Bug 360431] New: Maildir resource does not show subfolders in Maildir++ format

2016-03-12 Thread Johannes Rohr via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360431

Bug ID: 360431
Summary: Maildir resource does not show subfolders in Maildir++
format
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Maildir Resource
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: jor...@gmail.com

I have tried to add the local ~/Maildir as an Akonadi resource, but only the
INBOX is shown, the subfolders aren't. Subfolders are prepended with a dot.

The directory is handled correctly by a local dovecot server, which seems to
require such a format.

This is the directory layout:

~/Maildir
   cur
   new
   tmp
   .subfolder
  .subfolder.subsubfolder

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have local Maildir, as handled by dovecot, in Maildir++ format, with
subfolders
2. Add adonadi resource for it
3. See how it is displayed in Kmail

Actual Results:
Only the Inbox is shown

Expected Results:
All folders show be there.

If Akonadi is uncertain about the folder layout, there should be some
configuration possibility, yet there is none.

Well, I don't know. Meanwhile it seems to be working. I have upgraded Owncloud
to version 6.0.1 now. So I suppose this can be closed, but I don't know that
the appropriate status would be..

[kmail2] [Bug 329990] per account settings for spam filtering

2014-01-15 Thread Johannes Rohr
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=329990

I have seen this actually is configurable in the filter settings. Still it
would be good if the initial config wizard would actually allow for these
options instead of forcing the user to dig deep into the logic of the filter
system.

[kmail2] [Bug 329990] New: per account settings for spam filtering

2014-01-15 Thread Johannes Rohr
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=329990

Bug ID: 329990
Summary: per account settings for spam filtering
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.11.3
  Platform: Debian testing
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: commands and actions
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: jor...@gmail.com

Spam filtering should be configurable per account. I have some accounts which
have their own spam filtering, such as GMail. These accounts also have their
own particular spam folders. As of now, KMail only forsees a single spam folder
no matter how many accounts you have. It is nonsensical that messages detected
as spam be moved over from one accout to another one.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run anti-spam wizard
2. See what options are on offer
3.
Actual Results:
Only a single spam folder can be chosen, even if there are several accounts.
Spam filtering cannot be enabled or disable for individual accounts.

Expected Results:
Spam folders should be configurable per account.
It should be possible to enable or disable spam processing per account.

[kdepim] [Bug 326530] New: can't add owncloud resources if shared calendars exist on owncloud server

2013-10-23 Thread Johannes Rohr
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=326530

Bug ID: 326530
Summary: can't add owncloud resources if shared calendars exist
on owncloud server
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kdepim
   Version: 4.10
  Platform: Debian unstable
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: libkdepim
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: jor...@gmail.com

I am trying to set up an owncloud dav resource, and while everything seems to
work, the calendar or adddressbook do not show up
in kaddressbook resp. korganizer.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
I am following the ususal steps:

Add a new akonadi resource of type "DAV"

Enter credentials

Select "owncloud‶ as server type

Enter the address of my server

Test the connection -> Test is passed successfully

Click on "fertigstellen" (complete/ ready, or whatever it says in the English
gui)

After that I see an akonadi resource called "Owncloud", when I click "edit", I
see two protocols listed - CalDAV and CardDAV, with the respective URLs.

When I click "edit", I notice that "Detected collections" ("Entdeckte
Sammlungen") is empty. On clicking "fetch", my default addressbook / calendar
are detected, together with several shared addressbooks / calendars of other
users.

Finally, I click "ok" several times to exit the akonadi configuration.
Actual Results:
But when I fire up kaddressbook or korganizer, the owncloud addressbook /
calendar fails to show up.

Also when I return to the akonadi configuration, the list of detected
collections is empty again. So while everything first appears to work just
fine, settings don't appear to be saved. I have removed almost my entire KDE
config and emptied my entire Akondadi database, but to no avail.

This misbehaviour seems this has started when I have begun to add users to the
owncloud server and sharing calendars between users.

I have just tested by un-sharing the calendars again, after which things are
functioning as they should: Both addressbooks and calendars are added to
Korganizer / Kaddressbook as expected. However, Kdepim definitely should be
fixed to accommodate shared calendars in owncloud.

I have two Google Contacts sources configured. One is from a regular GMail
account and here, addressbook syncing works just fine. The other is from a
GApps account (which also implies that the E-Mail address is not
someth...@gmail.com. Here, the KDE addressbook remains empty, although there
are
several hundred addresses in this account.

Calendar sycning with this account works, though.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set up Google contact resource for an account on a Google Apps domain and
one for a regular GMail account
2. Open the address book
3. Watch what happens
Actual Results:
Regular GMail contact resource is populated with entries, the GApps address
book remains empty.

Expected Results:
Both should behave the same.

[Bug 297285] kmail moves mail out of maildir

2012-04-02 Thread Johannes Rohr
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=297285

I have added my ~/Maildir as a mail source for kmail. What I am unpleasently
surprised about is that Kmail would move all the mail from the Maildir into its
own local storage ( ~./.kde/share/apps/kmail/mail and delete it from
~/Maildir.

I doubt that this is the behaviour most people expect. I surely don't, because
I don't want kmail to own all my mail but I want to remain able to access it
with other clients as well, such as mutt or Thunderbird / Icedove

I am on current Debian Wheezy. Kmail is at version 1.13.7
