To be specific on the "other issues": I get failure to transport messages
saying that the TLS/SSL connection has been closed. This happens only on one
machine, not on another, despite having the same settings on Kmail. I imagine
something's broken somewhere on the system where it doesn't work, but I have no
idea what it is, and no motivation to find out, since on that system I've been
using a different mailer for a while now. In any case, I guess this particular
bug is resolved.

I guess the bug has resolved, though to be honest I seem to have mostly quit
using Kmail a while back. I tested it just now and it seems not to crash when
replying to an email; I merely have other issues.

[kontact] [Bug 380264] New: KMail crashes when replying to email

2017-05-28 Thread John Perry
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=380264

Bug ID: 380264
Summary: KMail crashes when replying to email
   Product: kontact
   Version: 5.4.3
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: john.pe...@usm.edu
  Target Milestone: ---

Application: kontact (5.4.3)

Qt Version: 5.7.1
Frameworks Version: 5.34.0
Operating System: Linux 4.10.17-200.fc25.x86_64 x86_64
Distribution (Platform): Fedora RPMs

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

I simply try to reply to an email. The application crashes reliably whenever I
try to replay to that email.

- Unusual behavior I noticed:

The content of some emails is not displayed in the main kmail window. When I
clikc the "Reply" button from this window, kmail crashes. However, if I
double-click on the email, thereby opening it in a separate window, the text is
displayed and kmail does not crash when I press "Reply" in the new window. I
can compose a reply and the message is successfully sent. Upon returning to the
main window, message content is still not displayed, and and kmail/Kontact
crashes when I click the "Reply" button.

The crash can be reproduced every time.
