Uh, I now use a separated installation for testing trunk and pim2 but I will
try what happens when upgrading or using my old kmail configs with kmail2. Stay
tuned ;)

[Bug 263425] New: Kontact crashes when refreshing Google Calendar ical file

2011-01-17 Thread KaiUweBroulik2
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=263425

Summary: Kontact crashes when refreshing Google Calendar ical
file
   Product: kontact
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: kaiuwebroul...@hotmail.com

Application: kontact (4.4.9)
KDE Platform Version: 4.5.95 (4.6 RC2)
Qt Version: 4.7.0
Operating System: Linux 2.6.35-24-generic-pae i686
Distribution: Ubuntu 10.10

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
I have my Google Calendar added to my Kalendar using the ICAL file provided by
Google and linked them using that Remote KIO option. It loaded the information
upon adding that calendar but it didn‘t display all of the appointments, so I
clicked on reload and then Kontact crashes everytime.
(Hoping for the new PIM suite to support Google Calendar natively…)

The crash can be reproduced every time.

[Bug 260783] New: Add button to open KMail on receiving new message notification

2010-12-20 Thread KaiUweBroulik2
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=260783

Summary: Add button to open KMail on receiving new message
notification
   Product: kmail
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: kaiuwebroul...@hotmail.com

Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.85)
OS:Linux

When you receive a new message, you get a notification stating this. You
cannot, however, open KMail using this notification. You have to open KMail by
yourself.
Since I have KMail set to automatic e-mail fetching and have hidden its icon in
the system tray (since it looks ugly, does not fit to the rest of the black and
white icon and I have the e-mail notifier widget) there is no easy way of
accessing KMail.

Reproducible: Always

I just wanted to copy an E-Mail-Address whose owner has an Umlaut in his name
(i.e. Martin Gräßlin). The name containing the umlaut is being replaced by an
equal sign. But only the name itself, not the whole name tag. So the result was
then Martin =. While another E-Mail owner “A. Schäfer” is completeley replaced
by an equal sign (although his first name does not contain an Umlaut).
The E-Mail address itself (the part after the name in brackets) is not copied
at all.

When Nepomuk Indexing Agents have been disabled, there pops up a message right
in your face stating that this is so and why.
It is really annoying, especially because it then often appears when using the
new KDE Pim.
It should be a passive popup in the notification tray at least when it appears
out of nowhere. (It is okay to have it pop up directly when starting an
application that depends on Akonadi but not just randomly!)
Also its content is so technical speaking. “The following problems were
detected: ” and then a list. And mostly the list just contains “Nepomuk is not
running”. There could be a much better solution for that.

I just noticed that when I am writing a mail (i.e. having the new mail window
opened) and I choose “Configure keyboard shortcuts” in the main window, either
the main window and the new mail editor get dimmed and are thus unresponsive.
The Configure Keyboard shortcut dialog should only be modal to the main window.

Since this dialog is available in almost any KDE application I think this can
occur in various places and is not only valid for KMail. (I think it‘s the same
with Kopete‘s send file dialog)

I have set some filters for “exam...@example.com” (for example) to
automatically move to a specific folder. But this does not happen as the sender
has his full name attached “Example User ” is the mail
address. So the filter using “matches” does not work, I have to use “contains“
xyz in order to make it filter.
It should not matter whether its full name is used, “e-mail address matches”
should just care about the mail address, not anything around it

Those tip of the day features should be banned altogether, they are just
annoying, ok, sometimes there are a few good tips inside but that doesn‘t
justify annoying the user all the time, especially at first launch. This is
Windows 95 aera, not 2010.

I don‘t know which kind of “bug” is described here, when I click on “check for

Or does it only occurr when it is automatically fetching new mail
