In addition I should mention that the mouse interactions (cursor and clicks,
selections) behave as if the email text were in its correct position. So just
the "drawing" is wrong.

Besides, setting QT_SCALE_FACTOR=2 in addition just scales the user interface

[Akonadi] [Bug 318623] events added to google calendar by android phone belong to weird categories in korganizer

2013-04-23 Thread Lukas Schneiderbauer

Created attachment 79390
  -- https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=79390action=edit
.ics from google, .vcs from korganizer

phew.. that was not an easy task as it turned out.
What I have now is an ics file from google and and vcs file from
korganizer. I hope this suffices (it seems one cannot get a vcs from google
directly).

If you look at it you'll notice this line in _both_:
CATEGORIES:http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#event;
1) obviously it's one category, not two.
2) okay, it's in both, so this category is google's fault. Nevertheless it
would be nice if kde could simply ignore this kind of category and
automatically get rid of this category in its events.
I mean.. it doesn't seem to serve any purpose at all, does it?

[Akonadi] [Bug 318623] New: events added to google calendar by android phone belong to weird categories in korganizer

2013-04-20 Thread Lukas Schneiderbauer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=318623

Bug ID: 318623
Summary: events added to google calendar by android phone
belong to weird categories in korganizer
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 4.10
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: DAV Resource
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: lukas.schneiderba...@gmail.com

I'm using the dav resource to connect to my google account.
Also this google account is connected to my android phone. When adding an event
via the phone this event is correctly shown in Korganizer after synchronizing.
However this event always belongs to the Categories:
* http
* //schemas.google.com/g/2005#event
which is ugly and I obviously don't want this.
Note that I didn't add such categories and if I delete the categories they are
recreated when adding a new event via my phone.
Also note that manually unticking the categories for each event works and is
remembered.

When adding the event via the google webinterface no such things happen but
when comparing two events (one created by webinerface, one created by phone) in
the google web interface I cannot see any difference; there doesn't seem to be
the concept of categories at all.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. create google-acc. and add akonadi dav-resource to connect to that
2. connect an android phone to this google account
3. create an event on the android phone
Actual Results:
korganizer shows that this event belongs to two specific categories (explained
above).

Expected Results:
I want the event to be in no category at all (if not specified at creation).

Taking previous error-occuring-rates* into account the bug is likely to be

You recompiled the latest of the branch KDE/4.10?
On March 26th, yes. This was the latest commit:
3eb827f7e6d17161bb5b1558bc066d4bcb134ce3 (which is the one above). I double
checked the 'modified'-dates of the installed files. They match.

Also, do you remember what you've done before the issue appeared again: was
your connection to the caldav server ok, did you woke up your machine from a
suspend to ram/disk or was it a cold boot?
Yesterday I did a suspend to ram (while kontact running). This morning my
notebook woke up from it.

[Akonadi] [Bug 314206] Korganizer and KAddressbook forgets that resources are enabled

2013-03-22 Thread Lukas Schneiderbauer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=314206

--- Comment #14 from Lukas Schneiderbauer lukas.schneiderba...@gmail.com ---
Okay, here we are. Today something out of the ordinary happened.
After a few hours of a running kde session with kontact opened the calendar
suddenly only showed one of my 5 google calendars. I looked at KOrganizer: no
more contacts although the addressbook-checkbox was 'ticked'.
I tried clicking around and stuff but it wouldn't change. So I closed Kontact
and did a 'akonadictl restart'.
This line catched my eye:
Cannot connect to agent instance with identifier
'akonadi_davgroupware_resource_6', error message: 'Could not get owner of
 name 'org.freedesktop.Akonadi.Resource.akonadi_davgroupware_resource_6': no
 such name'
ItemRetrieverException : Unable to contact resource

and a few hundred lines of these:
 akonadi_davgroupware_resource_6(5133)/libakonadi
Akonadi::ResourceBase::itemRetrieved: Item does not provide part RFC822

I ran akonadiconsole. Everything looked fine (agents reported a successfull
run). Looking at the dav-calendar-resource showed a lot of items. The
contact-folder held items as well.

Actually my guess is that this has nothing to do with this bug but is a
different one. But you surely see things clearer. Please give advice how to
proceed.

You can compile the resource without having to compile all of
kdepim-runtime. If cmake succeeds, which it seems to do, then just cd to
'resources/dav/' and issue 'make' from here.

First question is: How do I install it correctly?
I ran make install, but of course it installed it somewhere into nowhere
(/usr/local/share/kde4...) and not where the distro installs it into
(/usr/share/kde4..)
Second question: How do I remove this stuff in /usr/local/.. again? There is no
make uninstall or equivalent.

recompiling the branch KDE/4.10 of the kdepim-runtime repo.
I will do. But for now the compilation fails:

The API reference [0] says this:
 void ItemFetchScope::setIgnoreRetrievalErrors (   boolenabled )
 Since 4.11
I understand the usage is therefore forbidden in 4.10.* code.

I tried to compile this:
   repository: git://anongit.kde.org/kdepim-runtime
   at the commit:38ce56b9c326dbdf766231275a13541a7c8cf261
  branch: KDE/4.10
... so definitely 4.10

git-blame tells me that
450a036a (Christian Mollekopf 2013-03-04 18:21:44)
is the one who introduced the usage of this member.

This happens also for me very frequently with the google calendar and google
contacts. Specifically it happens after a reboot or a wakeup from suspend
(although not really always but most of the time). Every time I reactivate
them they are colored differently (seems random; I cannot see a pattern). Very
annoying indeed.

I experience the same behaviour with kde 4.8.1. (started around 4.7.*)

An additional sympton is, that the mails in the remote (imap) sent mails
directory are initially marked as unread. (while this is somehow true, this is
obviously not, how it should be.)

It should be mentioned, that this behaviour appears only in disconnected imap
mode.

I'm using kmail 4.7.4 and have the same problem.

In the configuration dialog I've set Mark selected messages as read after 0
sec. I read the mails not with double clicking it, but in the preview frame.
I'm not sure, but it seems that issue will not appear if the mail is opened

Same problem here, with kmail 4.7.1, when verifiing the signature from an
encrypted email.
The same key appears green, if the email is not encrypted.

I can confirm this behaviour in Kmail 4.7.0

With kmail 4.7.1 it's a bit different. I tried a search for subject and search
results were shown. However, when I clicked the folder Last Search Results,
kmail couldn't load this folder: Retrieving Folder Contents Please wait . .
.. This seems to block the loading of other folders, so I restarted kmail.
Every kmail start it seems, that kmail wants to load the Last Search Results,
which it can't. So it can't load other folders. So it's not usable any more and
I cannot do further testing.

Can I delete these search results in any way? Delete Folder doesn't help.

Okay, I did an akonadi-restart and it worked again. Did another search for
subjects, there were results (pretty fast). After that I searched the
email-boddys and the behouvier in comment #7 appeared again.
