No information is presented. Check Mail is noop for this account. Akonadi Console shows that connection to mail server has failed. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Try to get mail when for example there is no route to mail server. Actual Results: No error information is shown in KMail user interface. Expected Results: Inform user that something is wrong. So she/he doesn't need to send her/himself test mails to check why inbox is so calm on that day. Editor (default) window greys out and nothing more happens. I have PGP enabled for my email so I expected the PGP password entry window to show but that does not happen. If then I switch to kontact main window and close it (editor window stays grey - I'm not cancelling my preciuos already typed in mail). Kontact end with this crash. After reopening Kontact my prepared mail pops up (editor window) so at least I can copy it's content and sent it using another client. I'm not sure but it's possible that I can send only one mail using Kontact/KMail after starting my System after that one mail next ones are as described above.
