[kmail2] [Bug 394133] Can't do anything in folders list

2018-05-12 Thread Marc González Majoral
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394133

--- Comment #1 from Marc González Majoral <gons...@gmail.com> ---
After some testing, I think Kontact is at fault. If I start standalone KMail,
without Kontact, it works properly. I ended up uninstalling Kontact, because it
also made Akregator unusable. At least in my case, Kontact is completely broken
in 18.04.

2018-05-11 Thread Marc González Majoral
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394133

Bug ID: 394133
Summary: Can't do anything in folders list
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.7.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: folders
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: gons...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

After updating to 18.04, I can't do anything in the folders list with the
mouse. Can't switch to another folder nor expand/contract any of them. I can
only navigate using the "Go to" menu and related shortcuts (J, N, Alt++, Alt+-,
etc...).

Will there be a release where kdepim doesn't break anything?.

Now I tried to open standalone Akregator, and after closing it and reopening
Kontact, I got a message of corrupted XML sources file and now I have all the
default sources (kde, planets, etc...), losing everything I had.

Thanks Kubuntu.

Not sure if it's related, but most of the time when I update the feeds, all the
new articles appear without date (empty column) and also the unread articles
count doesn't work properly.

Akregator is just unusable for me right now.

Bug ID: 386177
Summary: Can't do any article-related actions.
   Product: akregator
   Version: 5.5.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: gons...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

After updating to 5.5.3, I can't do anything with articles.

Even with any article selected, the "Article" entry in the window's menu bar
has all its elements greyed out, and when I right-click any article, the
contextual menu doesn't show up. Also I can't use any article-related
shortcuts, like 'Supr' for deleting, 'Return' and the variants to open the
articles, etc...

I'm also missing the contextual menu when I right click any feed in the feeds
list panel.

This basically means akregator is unusable for me right now. I can only get new
articles or create new feeds.

[akregator] [Bug 256034] Feed content is displayed with date 07.02.2106 07:28

2017-10-25 Thread Marc González Majoral
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=256034

--- Comment #22 from Marc González Majoral <gons...@gmail.com> ---
So, after updating to 5.5.3, akregator has been a mess, and I noticed something
that maybe could help with this issue.

A weird bug happened to me causing that, after updating all feeds, all new
articles appeared with no date on them (empty column). After a reboot, all the
articles I tried to read with an empty date now appear as 07.02.2106 07:28.

The conclusion is that apparently, if there's a problem with setting the date
when getting/reading a new article (which seems it should never happen, why not
just set the current date then?), for some reason it gets the 07.02.2106 one
(that seems like a maximum possible integer value for a timestamp or something,
don't you think?).

Hope it helps, this has to be one of the longest running bugs in kdepim, and
still unconfirmed for some reason.

[kmail2] [Bug 379584] Old "delete" shortcut doesn't work anymore

2017-05-07 Thread Marc González Majoral
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379584

--- Comment #1 from Marc González Majoral <gons...@gmail.com> ---
Today I realized that the multiple selection delete works, and that the problem
is that when you click on a message in the list, it gets "deselected" or
"defocused" for some reason, which didn't happen before. So if you for example
try to select multiple messages by holding Shift and clicking on one of them,
they are not "focused" until you do it twice. What's the point of this
behaviour?

After updating to 5.4.3 (16.12.3?), the "Delete (Shift + Supr)" shortcut that
I've been using since KDE3 stopped working in the messages list.

Apparently there's another "Delete the message" shortcut that I tried setting
to (Shift + Supr), but then it won't let me delete more than one message at a
time and also it will always show a popup asking for confirmation, without an
option to "Not show again".

Extremely annoying regression sadly.

When reading my feeds, I always go keyboard-only navigation. So I was used to
use both "+" for next unread and left/right arrows for prev/next articles.

Sadly, after updating to Kontact 5.4.3 (Applications 16.12.3?), when using the
keys to navigate through articles, I can't use "Av pag" or "Re pag" to scroll
down and up the articles themselves without clicking to "focus" them (on the
article's box). This is very unpleasant. It also happens if you go to any
article by clicking on its name in the article's list.

I guess it has to do with the change to using QWebEngine. I hope this can be
fixed but it will be hard to wait 6 months for the next distro release :(

[knotes] [Bug 333640] Knotes version 4.13 don't inherit previous notes

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=333640

--- Comment #54 from Marc González Majoral gons...@gmail.com ---
#52, if you add the Kubuntu Updates PPA in your sources, you gill get the
latest update to the migrator and it will import your old notes, BUT...

... as #53 says, there's a problem with the encoding handling in the migrator
and any non-ASCII character will get imported as an unknown one (). If your
notes are in a not-a-single-letter-is-in-ASCII language (russian, chinese,
arabic, etc...), they will all be unreadable, so I'd recommend waiting to see
if it gets fixed.

It's a major issue for me too, as i'm using KMail for my professional email.

You are crazy.

I have a lot of issues with IMAP accounts too. At least one of the accounts
_always_ gets a Account name: killed message and it's not possible to get
email from it without restarting akonadi. The problem is after the restart, at
least one of the accounts will have the same problem again. At home I have like
6-7 IMAP accounts. I tried with all kinds of configuration, always happens the
same thing.

It happens from time to time and on different IMAP servers, and I never suspend

[Bug 310141] New: When responding to a message, From address gets truncatet on non-ASCII characters

2012-11-15 Thread Marc González Majoral
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=310141

Bug ID: 310141
  Severity: minor
   Version: 4.9.3
  Priority: NOR
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
Summary: When responding to a message, From address gets
truncatet on non-ASCII characters
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
  Reporter: gons...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Ubuntu Packages
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Component: composer
   Product: kmail2

When you choose to respond a message and composer opens, if the From field
gets autopopulated with an address that contains non-ASCII characters, it gets
truncated, or at least if its an á.

The domain I'm using is marcgonzález.com and its the default account when
sending. When i choose to respond a message, address appears as xxx@marcgonz.
The first time I responded to a message I didn't notice it was truncated so the
receiving server said the address was not valid. Took some minutes to realize
what the problem was.

I understand that the domain is really xn--marcgonzlez-r7a.com, but it should
be converted transparently to the user, like for example web browsers do. The
domains apparently aren't being converted anywhere in Kmail (for example I have
to configure the accounts as xn--marcgonzlez-r7a.com or they won't work), but I
don't feel that's a bug, rather than a lack of a basic feature.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Receive a message
2. Respond to that message using a default sending account with the domain
containing non-ASCII characters (á in my case)
Actual Results:
Address' domain gets truncated

Expected Results:
Domain shouldn't get truncated
