I could import a CA cert (demoCA) and a user cert signed by that CA. Is this
reproducible? Can you supply these certs? Does this only happen under Windows
CE?

Probably a styling bug on Maemoe: Not reproducible on CE, thus komo3 tag

A key selected for cryptography in the identity manager can be rejected for a
variety of reasons. For OpenPGP it could be lack of owner trust. For S/MIME,
it can be lack of trust of the root CA key (=> allow-mark-trusted), or a
failure to check CRLs (=> disable-crl-checks). But the dialog does not say why
the key is rejected. The OK button just stays unselectable (greyed out),
frustrating the user because of the lack of any indication why it can not be
used to confirm key selection.

--- Comment #4 from Marcus Brinkmann

FWIW, I agree that the priority is high for the certificate details, which are
important to see.

The owner trust feature is an advanced feature IMO that one usually does not
need to touch. So here the priority is not high IMO.

The calendar issue is only cosmetic: It is still possible to enter all dates.

I can't activate the "decrypt message" or "signature details" "links" in the

selecting text for cut and paste? I tried single tap, double tap, and even
some keyboard action. Only double tapping showed any result, and that was the
wrong one (highlighting text instead of activating the action).

Two dialogues say they are save dialogs ("speichern"), but they are actually
the system's open dialogues. The problem is that in an open dialog the default
settings are interpreted differently, and you can't specify a filename. This
leads to weird filenames being created such as "My Documents..p10" (yes, two
dots, and the directory name is actually taken as the filename).

This also happened in kmail and was fixed with some flag change (Volker
probably remembers).

The dialogs in question are:

1. Certificate export

2. After S/MIME key generation, the "Save CSR" dialog.

Just click on change identity and then on one of the four change key buttons in

[Bug 259125] kleopatra server features should be disabled

--- Comment #6 from Marcus Brinkmann
2011-01-19 00:50:44 ---
I have not seen any problems related to this in a while.

BTW, note that in the future kleo mobile may have a background mode and be used
as a UI server. Just so you know that the code may come back at some time, so
it may have been more prudent to define it out rather than delete it. But
that's water under the bridge now...

I can not reproduce this. At startup, no failures are reported (selftest
disabled at startup?), and when started from the menu, I only get expected
failures calling gpgconf (which would require pipes to work between the KDE and
GnuPG stack).

some dialogs are too small and not scrollable, specifically:

the "key successfully generated" in the OpenPGP cert generation wizard, the
export button appears at the bottom of the screen, and the ok etc buttons are
off screen.

the smime new cert dialog which queries the cert meta data (CN etc) is way too
big.

the german text of the "you can support random by entering text" dialog is cut
off (otoh, the text is probably useless on windows ce anyway)

Version:   unspecified (using Devel)

other mobile apps have:

[Navigation Path (eg Home, or Folder)] -> [Context specific menu items for
current navigation path]
[Other context specific menus] -> [Other items]
[AppName] -> [Quit, Minimize, New..., Search..., Work Offline, Configure,
Manual, Report Bug Or Request Feature, About AppName]

In contrast to that, Kleopatra currently has the following structure:

[File] -> [New Certificate, Search certificate, import ,..., Quit]
[View] -> [Refresh]
[Certificates] -> [...]
[Tools] -> [...]
[Configuration] -> [Selftest, Configure...]

I think that a File menu is a bit of a misnomer, and I guess most of the
entries in that menu (at the very least the New, Search and Quit entries) would
be better in a [Kleopatra] top level menu that should also contain the
Configure... item. The selftest entry is superfluous in a mobile setting where
the environment is more controlled and failing selftests are highly
exceptional. The View, Certificates and Tools menus are unproblematic. So
something like this I guess:

[View] -> ...
[Certificates] -> ...
[Tools] -> ...
[Kleopatra] -> [Quit, Minimize, New..., Search..., Work Offline, Configure,
Manual, Report Bug Or Request Feature, About AppName]

Note: The Minimize entry here is translated with the german equivalent to
Switch Application, and it should not be the same minimization that's done by
kleopatra in server mode (which is bad on the mobile device). Here it refers
to the same function as in the other mobile apps, whatever that is.

A UI expert may have more opinions on the menu structure.

[Bug 259125] New: kleopatra server features should be disabled

Version:   unspecified (using Devel)

kleo mobile is not yet used as a server and thus should not minimze itself (or
put itself in the background or whatever magic it does), because that makes
kleopatra inaccessible to the user (the windows ce device does not have a
status icon panel similar to windows). If you then switch away from the
kleopatra window, it disappears and can not be brought back, while kleopatra
keeps running in the background.

Also, kleopatra mobile should not ask for confirmation if it should be
terminated when chosing exit from the menu, because the question is not
relevant for the mobile version. And while we are at it, the location of the
exit menu entry is inconsistent with the other mobile apps (but I will make a
separate report on that).

When sending a new mail and opening the recipient flag, the To: button is not
heigh enough for the "To:". When clicking the input field and starting to
type, a second To: field is added and the height of both fields is adjusted to
fit.

Reproducible: Always
