[kmail2] [Bug 484706] IMAP-folders stay offline
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=484706 --- Comment #2 from Marek Greško --- Hello, see if the workaround in the bug 486160 works for you. I am not sure about SuSE, but there should be some similar file or it could be overriden by configuration file in /etc/NetworkManager. [Akonadi] [Bug 486160] All akonadi network resources are offline
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=486160 --- Comment #8 from Marek Greško --- Hello, I just found a workaround for the problem. When I remove NetworkManager-config-connectivity-fedora package everything works like a charm. I cannot imagine how could akonadi developer consider all the resources unreachable, even resources in the local network when some specific Internet connectivity check fails. This should be fixed ASAP. Thanks Marek -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[kmail2] [Bug 486160] Cannot switch imap account to online
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=486160 --- Comment #4 from Marek Greško --- It seems to be an akonadi problem. When running akonadiconsole I see many resources offline. I am not able to make them back online. Maybe akonadi thinks there is no network connection or something like that? How does it detect such things? Thanks Marek -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[kleopatra] [Bug 342153] Kelopatra crashes on the first start up if kgpg
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=342153 --- Comment #2 from Marek Ciborowski ciborowskima...@gmail.com --- Hi, Thank you for your reply. I am using Fedora 21 with Mate 1.8.1 as the window manager. I have Fedora repositories and rpmfusion. 1) When I start Kleopatra it produces a test report with one test failing : Gpg-Agent Connectivity , result : unexpected error and the details are : 'The error returned was : IPC parameter error' and when I continue ot crashes with sig11 - segmentation fault. 2) What I used KGpg for the first time it guided me through the setup where I accepted all the defaults. The end result was Kleopatra crash, details of which were submitted. 3) Note that I use a mixture of Mate , Gnome and KDE programs/applets none of which has been build from source. I will be more than happy to assist further but for now I guess it is Merry Christmas. It says: The Email program encountered a fatal error and will terminate now. The error was: Could not create collection sent-mail resourceId: 18 Downgrading to kde 4.10 does not solve the issue as there's some incompatible protocol (seems it was updated already by new kmail..something along Incompatible protocol found, required 29, found 32.. In kde 4.11 this crash appears, after clicking OK on the msg window, kmail closes. Akonadi and all resources are (restarted) up and running. Interesting is that otherwise kmail is working, it asks for password to access kwallet, if I fill it in and dont click the crash-window, all IMAP resources start (successfully) synchronize and I see new mails in the list. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=316102 --- Comment #2 from Marek Otahal markota...@gmail.com --- Wolfgang, thank you for reply! Sorting by name is a workaround for the problem. But the correct folder (the clicked one) stays selected. Guilty in both cases :) you are right. The evil's trick is that you select folder (left click), it will resync and shuffle, and then rightclick to 'Mark all as read', will act on a different folder .. and make you lots of trouble. I dont know if we want to close this as Invalid, or enhance sort by unread to wait with redrawing folders' ordering after the selected folder is synced(so it's more smooth)? This is similar to bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=302337 but mine just occured on 4.9.2 (gmail). Related: http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/applications/474124-kmail-4-8-2-340-1-x86_64-eating-my-message-bodies.html https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=298962 This is even mentioned here: http://userbase.kde.org/KMail/FAQs_Hints_and_Tips#You_have_empty_.27ghost-mails.27_in_your_inbox_.28or_other_folder.29 but the solution to 'Rebuild index' is not available anymore. My proposal: a) implement again the rebuild index b) SHA checksums - when downloading email, store message ID together with the hash of whole mail in some file. Offer a redownload broken tool, that goes through all messages in given folder, makes their hash, and if it does not match with the stored original hash, redownload the message (messageID) from server again (for IMAP; it doesnt have to be possible always, but for many cases-gmail-is.) This could be a commandline tool, or a button in Kmail settings/folder menu. The workaround for me is quite painful: delete whole .kmail folder, set-up accounts again and download _all_ emails from servers again. // maybe sometimes the ghost emails are ok again after restart, I'm not sure if/how this happens. Now, it's done by SettingsSpellchecker As the status bar is quite unused, I suggest there's a dropbar added to the status bar where user can select language quickly. See how it's done eg. in LibreOffice Writer and similar. What is your opinion? [Bug 302679] New: [kmail] composer: better language identification
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=302679 Bug ID: 302679 Severity: wishlist Version: 4.9 pre Priority: NOR Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Summary: [kmail] composer: better language identification Classification: Unclassified OS: Linux Reporter: markota...@gmail.com Hardware: Other Status: UNCONFIRMED Component: composer Product: kmail2 For spellchecker to work, proper language must be set. It would be nice if this could be done seamlessly without user intervention - language identification. Two techniques come on my head: A/ determine by keyboard layout used + easy to code + instant - some languages you can type in latin (en keyb) B/ some AI technique for language identification there should be some tools available, some quick solution is: for each supported lang, make a list of top 200 used words. For the new text you type-pair it with list(lang) with most common words. I could code that easily, I just dont know how to integrate that in kmail. +does not suffer the latin issue: eg. Czech - words dobrý (good) český (czech) člověk (person) are 100% correct but usually can be written as dobry cesky clovek - which could be corrected by spellcheck but is for sure czech lang. and people use it in emails. USECASE: mostly would benefit multilingual environments or workspaces where your native language is other than English but corporate communication is in Eng. REALISATION: I suggested ways to language identification above, for GUI part I would like a checkbox 'automatic language identification' in the Spellchecker menu. maybe a choice between the keyboard and AI version. DIFFICULTY: should be easy :) Reproducible: Always -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

I tried #3 recreating the smtp account and #7 deleting all folders in ~/.local/share/.local-mail.directory and akonadictl restart - they get recreated but mail does not go through. my settings: also arch, multiple smtp accounts-one selected as default, none working :/, migration went wrong, passwords stored in kwallet but that seems to work well, i use gpg signitures for mail but failures appear even without them. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=264316 --- Comment #3 from Marek Otahal markotahal gmail com 2011-06-20 23:17:17 --- well, sorry to respond late. Finaly I am on kde 4.6.4, kmail 2.1.0 so I can compare. pros: - fetching messages to akonadi resources seems faster or same speed. - acting on a loaded message list is considerably faster! I mean like scrolling the list, opening folded threads, displaying a msg after selecting it in msg list is now almost instat ! Great work here. cons: - one thing is (still) considerably slow and annoying, opening and displaying the message list after selecting a folder with the mails. On a folder with cca 3k mails this takes 2-3s on my atom, a folder with 22k mails takes 22s! :( I tried both settings in AppearanceMailing listConfigureAdvanced: Favor interactivity/speed. My idea is that selecting a folder would display messages in all its subfolders too. So selecting a top level folder of an account would list all mail in the account. [Bug 264316] IMAP performance is significantly slower than 4.4.9
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=264316 Marek Otahal markota...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added CC||markota...@gmail.com --- Comment #1 from Marek Otahal markotahal gmail com 2011-01-26 12:57:43 --- I can confirm this behavior on kde 4.5.95 and Archlinux. The performance of kmail2 with akonadi backend is poorer compared to kmail(1), as far as I can tell, for a longer time (since 4.6beta2). For me, opening a folder with 1000+ emails takes some time (didn't ever happen with previous kmail), I can see a 'waiting circle'. Also, mysqld kicks in and takes quite a lot of cpu at the time. I should say I'm running a netbook, but as said before, with older kmail it's ok. Thanks a lot and I hope this can be fixed. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

[Bug 234873] New: Kontact is always launching when i run kopete/korganizer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=234873 Summary: Kontact is always launching when i run kopete/korganizer Product: kontact Version: 4.4.2 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: markota...@gmail.com Version:(using KDE 4.4.2) OS:Linux Installed from:Archlinux Packages using the launcher (alt +f2) i start kopete/korganizer. *what happens: both kopete/korganizer and kontact window appear (additionally kontact launches kmail) *expected behaviour: start only the required app (rationale: on my netbook, kontact consumes more space on screen) *reproducible: always. I've searched settings for kontact and both apps and didn't find an option to disable this. It didn't occur in previous kde releases. *attachements: rc files for these apps Thank you, Marek -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
