[Bug 211269] New: attachments are downloaded before user is allowed to respond to an email

2009-10-20 Thread Markus Grabner
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=211269

Summary: attachments are downloaded before user is allowed to
respond to an email
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.12.2
  Platform: SuSE RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: grab...@icg.tugraz.at

Version: 1.12.2 (using KDE 4.3.1)
OS:Linux
Installed from:SuSE RPMs

When replying to a mail in an IMAP account which is configured to load
attachments on demand, the attachments are nevertheless downloaded before the
user is allowed to type the reply. This causes unnecessary network traffic and
delay and in some cases renders the download on demand feature useless (e.g.,
if one receives a huge attachment and wants to ask the sender a question about
the content of the attached file before downloading and opening it).
