[kmail2] [Bug 278717] Can't read my email

2013-02-10 Thread Martin Koller
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=278717

--- Comment #8 from Martin Koller kol...@aon.at ---
I think what you're missing is a resource which loads your old inbox mbox file.
What you find under ~/.local/share/akonadi/file_db_data... is just a _cache_ of
the new mails (or part of the mails) not the mails themselves.

Please check your kmail settings under Accounts - Receiving.
You should have (or add a new one) of type mbox which points to the old mbox
file - then you should be able to see all your old mails.

To find your new mails (the ones you received from July 2011 on) should be
somewhere else. Check your receiving accounts settings.

Intresting ... If you did not have the mbox resource before, I wonder from
where akonadi got the header info then ...

You probably should discard the akonadi database and start from scratch

When you use X11 forwarding, you are looking onto that same Laptop where
everything works ?
Or are you looking onto a completely different PC, where also the setup/akonadi

Bug ID: 314446

Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kaddressbook
   Version: 4.10
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux

I have a vcard directory addressbook defined which I gave the name std
After using it I discovered that it had the read-only flag set
I now changed the read-only flag to false and suddenly the name of the
addressbook was changed to akonadi_vcarddir_resource_4

Reproducible: Always

[kmail2] [Bug 314457] New: folder filter shall not disable other folders

2013-02-05 Thread Martin Koller
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=314457

Bug ID: 314457
Summary: folder filter shall not disable other folders
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.9.98 RC3
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: CONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: UI
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: kol...@aon.at

When using the quicksearch/filter field for the folder tree currently all
non-matching folders along the path to the matching folder are disabled.
This is bad (and a regression to kmail1) as one can no longer right-click a
parent folder of a matching one to create a new subfolder to that.

I implemented the folder-quicksearch field in kmail1 as a quick navigation aid,
and in kmail2 I'm now hindered to quickly use the shown folders when some of
them are disabled.

Please bring the functionality back as in kmail1 and do not disable the folders
along the path.

I have only POP accounts. I'm subscribed to the cmake mailing list and have a
filter defined which moves all the mails from this ML in a separate folder.
I have also imported all my old mails from kmail1 to kmail2 (new setup without
kmail migration) with KDE 4.10 RC something - I did not use kmail2 before.
The mail I'm referring to here is from tuesday this week, so this is not a mail
I have received with kmail1 but is a very new one received with kmail2.

The mail file I found for this mail is on disk:
/home/koller/Mail/.z_div.
privat.directory/cmake/new/1359479266.R7.linux-d4d3.site

The file contains the complete message. I attach the file also here.

But kmail2 does not show the body of the message. All I see is the information
in the message list: subject, sender, date is correctly displayed, but clicking
on the mail

updating the folder does not help either.
Moving the mail to a different folder (from within kmail2) does not help
either.

It seems akonadi has some problem here.

Happens here also with kmail2 from KDE-4.10 RC3.
Probably the following actions led to some mails being empty:
in a mailing list folder, I saw a thread with about 13 mails deep. Three of
them are shown in kmail2 with an attachment icon.
I collapsed the thread and wanted to delete the whole thread so I pressed
Shift+Del.
I now have still the whole thread, but two messages with the attachment icon
are completely empty. Saving one of these to a file contains only the
following:

From unknown@unknown.invalidDi. Jan 29 19:53:30 2013

But I also have other mails in the same mailing list folder which I did not
touch before but the mail also shows as empty (that is: pressing v on such a
mail brings up a completely empty message as plaintext window - which is in
so far interesting as at least the message list shows the sender, the subject
and the date.)

[kaddressbook] [Bug 260354] trust flag per address to allow displaying of HTML emails

2013-01-26 Thread Martin Koller
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=260354

--- Comment #7 from Martin Koller kol...@aon.at ---
I have now removed all 2 addressbooks, re-added them again.
With akonadiconsole I saw that akonadi_nepomuk_feeder was not running, which
I then restarted from here and waited until it says Indexing completed.
After the reindexing was done, I again started kmail, checked that on a new
mail the addressee completion works for this contact, then clicked on the mail
from this contact in my inbox and I STILL see the HTML source.
This simply does not work.

The addressbook I'm using here is a vcard dir. What I feel strange is that when
I change the HTML flag for a contact, a NEW vcard file is created in the same
directory. So in fact this vcard dir now has this contact twice (although
kaddressbook only lists the one I changed)

[kaddressbook] [Bug 260354] trust flag per address to allow displaying of HTML emails

2013-01-25 Thread Martin Koller
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=260354

--- Comment #4 from Martin Koller kol...@aon.at ---
This flag is named prefers to RECEIVE messages... - I'm talking about SEEING
these messages as HTML. Maybe the flag is used for both directions ? If so, one
should change the text to prefers to USE messages formatted as.. or something
similar.

BUT: The main problem is: that flag does not do anything.
I changed it for one of my addressbook entries from which I have an HTML mail
in my inbox. The inbox does not have the prefer HTML flag set, so when I
select the message from this contact, I still see the html source with the red
warning rectangle.
Also sending to this contact does not create an HTML mail.
What am I missing ?

Currently a folder can only have the flag prefer HTML to Plain Text, that is:
whenever I receive an email which has plain text AND HTML I see the HTML
version without being bothered with the html-code and the red box with Note:
This is an HTML message. ...

What is missing is the possibility to prefer plain text (when the mail contains
plain text AND HTML I want to see the plain text version) but whenever an email
contains HTML ONLY, I want to see the html version WITHOUT the red warning box.

This goes a bit hand in hand with my former request bug #260354
which claims to be implemented, but I still do not see a way to set this flag
per address.

I try to resize the title column to see more of the text.
When I drag the header size handle to the right to make it wider and there is
currently no horizontal scrollbar, the columns header starts to flicker while
I'm still holding the mouse pressed and try to make it wider.
When I first increase the width of another column to have a scrollbar, the
flickering does not occur.
However, whatever I define for the title column width is reset when I select a
different feed.
It seems akregator choses some automatic title width, but the width it choses
is bad as it's too narrow.

I have configured about 40 filters and I only use 3 POP accounts.
When I fetch new mails, I see the mails coming into my inbox and - most of them
- are immediately removed again from the inbox message list as they are moved
to different (mailing list) folders. But some of them stay in the inbox which
should also be moved.
When I then afterwards select these mails manually and press CTRL+J to manually
apply the filters again, they are then moved to the correct destination folder.

Reproducible: Always

Expected Results:
- mails should always be moved to the defined destination folders
- mails should not appear in the inbox for a fraction of a second and then
moved to the destination afterwards (this is just a graphical glitch, not a
functional one)

I have a lot of folders, but all of them are set to do NOT act on unread/new
messages. I only want to see the systray icon when I have a new message in
some special folders, which works as configured, e.g. currently I see the
systray icon with the number 1 in it. But when I now right-click on the icon
and select New messages In, the sub-popup shows ALL folders with new messages
in them (e.g. also all my mailing list folders) and not only the folder which
is counted for the number in the systray icon.

In kmail 1 I could very quickly see in what folder this new message is in, but
now I can no longer use this in any useful way as I get much too much folders
in the popup.

Please restore the behaviour of kmail1 and only show those folders in the popup
which I selected to be counted in the systray.

--- Comment #8 from Martin Koller kol...@aon.at ---
I tried again with a new user on openSuse 12.1, KDE 4.9.4, german language
Simply logging into KDE for the first time and start kmail
I still have this situation:

Below ~/.local/share it creates a folder akonadi_maildir_resource_0 with the
following subfolders ONLY:
Postausgang
Posteingang
Versendete Nachrichten

(in english this would be: outbox, inbox, sent mails)

[Bug 302145] I cannot see a message without switch to html mode

Martin Koller kol...@aon.at changed:

 CC||kol...@aon.at
 Resolution|--- |INVALID

--- Comment #7 from Martin Koller kol...@aon.at ---
The mail has a header
Content-Type: multipart/alternative;
 boundary=_=_swift-DELETED.14779692_=_

which tells the mail client to either show the one (text) or the other (html)
format, and the boundary tells it where that part starts.
The text only part (Content-Type: text/plain;) contains what kmail shows by
default (as you seem to not have told it to show html per default).

So kmail is correct in what it shows when you do not tell it explicitly that
you want to see html instead.

What you mention as kmail shows a html warning box ... this is only done when
the mail comes in HTML _only_ (which is not the case here)

It crashes somewhere deep inside Qt while loading the font database ... very
strange.
Is theres something special in your setup regarding fonts ?
If this is still reproducible, can you run
valgrind kmail --nofork log
and attach the logfile here ?

Still correct with KDE/4.9
But you can add a maildir account pointing to the maildir directory (without
copying the mails as the import does) and this maildir resource keeps the
read/unread status.

Can reproduce with current KDE/4.9.
When I select a folder which is filtered by the folder quicksearch, its
contents gets intermixed with the previous mails shown from a different folder.

I think I found a nice Qt solution: QChar::decomposition()
It returns for all the chars of öäüÖÄÜčťžýáéèàùï a QString with length==2 and
the first
char of this is the char without the diacritical sign.
See attached test program

--- Comment #14 from Martin Koller kol...@aon.at ---
Hmmm.. the problem is, that the search is done via Nepomuk, and Nepomuk would
need to match the given pattern against the mails text or the mails text with
exchanged (diacritic - non-diacritic) characters in some way.
No idea if this is possible at all.

[Bug 303549] New: crash of akonadi_maildispatcher_agent after kmail-migration

2012-07-15 Thread Martin Koller
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=303549

Bug ID: 303549
  Severity: crash
   Version: 4.8
  Priority: NOR
CC: vkra...@kde.org
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
   Summary: crash of akonadi_maildispatcher_agent after
kmail-migration
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
  Reporter: kol...@aon.at
  Hardware: Compiled Sources
Status: NEW
 Component: Mail Dispatcher Agent
   Product: Akonadi

Application: akonadi_maildispatcher_agent (4.8)
KDE Platform Version: 4.8.97 (Compiled from sources)
Qt Version: 4.8.2
Operating System: Linux 3.1.10-1.16-desktop i686
Distribution: openSUSE 12.1 (i586)

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

I'm trying to migrate from kmail1 to kmail2.
For this I setup a new user which runs a current self-compiled KDE/4.9 in a
Xephyr session.
I copied ~/Mail to this new user and also the ~/.kde4/share/config/ files
mentioned in userbase FAQ/migration.
Then I started KDE and in a konsole I run kmail-migrator --interactive
All seemed to work smoothly and I still see the Migration successfully
completed message in the dialog.
But then I got the crash window of the akonadi_maildispatcher_agent with the
attached backtrace

-- Backtrace:

Just to make this clear: you want that kmail filters mails for čťžýá even if
you type ctzya ?
If so, any idea how a unicode character can be transformed into the equivalent
character without the diacritical sign ?
