Hi Denis,

LOL, extremely motivated developers.
I am afraid they are needed regardless. Since KDE PIM 4.x.x Kontakt, Kmail and
Akonadi have not been working properly. In fact, KDE PIM has been destroyed. It
just does not work properly. Now, just look at OpenSuSE Leap 42.2 with kmail5.
The mailing list is full with complaints. People are fed up.

I considered upgrading to leap 42.2. But since the kmail nightmare continues
with kamil5, I wont.

Under Leap 42.1 I have a "workable" Kmail/Kontakt. But I all honesty, I am
growing increasingly tiered of a bodged KDE which can't get its act together.

If anything, a migration to a new email client/PIM/Desktop is on order.

I've been using KDE since SuSE 7.1

Kind Regards
Norbert Blobel

[kmail2] [Bug 374595] New: allow the use of Kontakt / Kmail without the use of Akonadi (as you do not manage to make it work)

2017-01-05 Thread Norbert Blobel
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374595

Bug ID: 374595
Summary: allow the use of Kontakt / Kmail without the use of
Akonadi (as you do not manage to make it work)
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.14.10
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: m...@blobel.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Serval times a day I need to run akonadictl restart. This is due to Kmail not
displaying emails or not moving emails to other folders.

Since KDE4, Kmail and Kontakt have not been working properly.

I therefore request to allow the use of Kontakt / Kmail without the use of
Akonadi as you do not manage to make it work.

Kind Regards
Norbert Blobel

[Akonadi] [Bug 311199] Mail filters not always applied when messages come in too fast

Can confirm this on 4.9.5 release 3.

Using pop though.

For instance, I have the following filter setup.
opensuse...@opensuse.org with move to folder OpenSUSE

If one email is coming in, it first shows up for a second or so in the inbox
and then it is moved to the assigned folder.

If 10, 20+ or so mails are received, they all show up in the inbox first, and
then about 1/2 of them stay in in box, the other half is moved to the folder
assigned.

[kmail2] [Bug 314493] New: Filter Classify as Spam Duplicates Email

2013-02-05 Thread Norbert Blobel
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=314493

Bug ID: 314493
Summary: Filter Classify as Spam Duplicates Email
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.9.5
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: commands and actions
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: m...@blobel.com

Using kmail2 and Bogofilter, after a spam email is received I click on
Classify as Spam. The email is moved into the spam folder as setup. The next
time I click on the Check Mail, the previous spam email is back in the inbox as
a duplicate. One copy is in the allocated spam folder and one is in the inbox.
The process can be repeated ENDLESS times. Once the email is deleted from the
inbox. It stops.

Reproducible: Always
