[Bug 204209] New: Kontact crashes when adding recurring event or event with attendees, using local calendar file with GCALdaemon, syncing with Google calendar

2009-08-17 Thread Pat
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=204209

Summary: Kontact crashes when adding recurring event or event
with attendees, using local calendar file with
GCALdaemon, syncing with Google calendar
   Product: kontact
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Unlisted Binaries
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: patboul...@gmail.com

Application that crashed: kontact
Version of the application: 4.3.0
KDE Version: 4.3.00 (KDE 4.3.0)
Qt Version: 4.5.2
Operating System: Linux 2.6.28-14-generic i686
Distribution: Ubuntu 9.04

What I was doing when the application crashed:
Upgraded from 4.2.2 to 4.3 today. Problem occurred in 4.2.2 as well: Kontact
crashes when creating or changing calendar events (or to dos) either with
attendees or recurring details. Initial creation of such an event or task leads
to Kontact crashing almost 100% of the time. Further, events with recurrence do
not seem to sync to Google through GCALDaemon (separate issue in itself).

[Bug 205423] New: Kontact crashes when creating a TODO with a due date

2009-08-27 Thread Pat
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=205423

Summary: Kontact crashes when creating a TODO with a due date
   Product: kontact
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Unlisted Binaries
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: patboul...@gmail.com

Application that crashed: kontact
Version of the application: 4.3.0
KDE Version: 4.3.00 (KDE 4.3.0)
Qt Version: 4.5.2
Operating System: Linux 2.6.28-14-generic i686
Distribution: Ubuntu 9.04

What I was doing when the application crashed:
Kontact crashes when creating a TODO with a due date the first time the TODO is
created. If the application is restarted, the next TODO created with a Due date
is fine. I can't validate when or how, but there is a point at which the same
sequence repeats, i.e. it doesn't only crash the first time. It'll keep
crashing when creating TODOs with Due dates on a regular basis.

[Bug 205450] New: Kontact crashes when creating a TODO with a due date

2009-08-27 Thread Pat
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=205450

Summary: Kontact crashes when creating a TODO with a due date
   Product: kontact
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Unlisted Binaries
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: patboul...@gmail.com

Application that crashed: kontact
Version of the application: 4.3.0
KDE Version: 4.3.00 (KDE 4.3.0)
Qt Version: 4.5.2
Operating System: Linux 2.6.28-14-generic i686
Distribution: Ubuntu 9.04

What I was doing when the application crashed:
Reported earlier today. Was asked to install kdepim, reproduce and resubmit.
Done as instructed. Again, Kontact crashes the first time you create a TODO
with a due date. If you restart the application and create it again, it works.
After a while however, Kontact will crash again if you use due date on a TODO.
I have also noticed that the same thing happens in KOrganizer when creating an
event with a due date OR a recurring sequence. TODOs with recurring sequence
also crash...

[Bug 283266] New: mail sent by Calendar app (rt-click to send iCal) fails with "syntax error". Re-send via KMail is OK.

2011-10-03 Thread Pat
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=283266

Summary: mail sent by Calendar app (rt-click to send iCal)
fails with "syntax error". Re-send via KMail is OK.
   Product: kontact
   Version: 4.7.1
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: mail
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: pkbugs+kdeb...@ssl-mail.com

Version: 4.7.1 (using KDE 4.7.1)
OS:Linux

I'm running

 kontact -v
  Qt: 4.7.4
  KDE Development Platform: 4.7.1 (4.7.1) "release 8"
  Kontact: 4.7.1

If I open Kontact's Calendar, and rt-click -> send-as-ical on an existing
calendar item, the send fails due to a transport problem:

E-mail sending failed: Failed to transport message. Message sending failed
since the following recipients were rejected by the server:
"Pat K test" (The server responded: "syntax error")

and immediately gets dumped into my LocalFolders' Outbox.

If I open the message in the LocalFolders' Outbox, and just click Send, it
heads out with no problem.

Looking at the SMTP server logs, I see this at the send from Calendar:

...
cmd: RCPT TO:<"Pat K test" >
rsp: 501 syntax error
cmd: DATA
rsp: 554 no valid RCPT address specified
...

and this when I click-to-Send the same message from the LocalFolders Outbox it
gets dumped into:

...
cmd: RCPT TO:
rsp: 250 p...@devlan.loc will leave the Internet
cmd: DATA
rsp: 354 Enter mail, end with "." on a line by itself"
...

The 'RCPT TO:<"Pat K test" >' in the 1st case looks like it
may have too many "<", ">".

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
see above

Expected Results:
mail from calendar should be correctly sent

[Bug 281227] KMail2 4.7's "Find messages ..." reproducibly fails to search: "Unknown error. (Unable to create persistent search)"

I'm running

 kontact -v
  Qt: 4.7.4
  KDE Development Platform: 4.7.1 (4.7.1) "release 8"
  Kontact: 4.7.1

If I open Kontact's KMail, and rt-click -> Find Messages on any existing folder
(INBOX will do) in an IMAP account, then enter any combination of options --
for example, just accept defaults (Subject: contains ...), enter anything
(e.g., "TEST"), then click "Search" ...

a dialog box opens,

"Sorry - Kontact; Can not get search result. Unknown error. (Unable to create
persistent search)"

with an OK button.

Clicking OK simply returns me to the Find Messages dialog.

If I exec 'akonadictl restart' mentioned above -- it doesn't make any
difference for me here. The 1st/next attempt to Find Messages behaves the same
way -- Still can't search, & I get the same dialog box.

I'm seeing this on Opensuse 11.4, and have verified the same dialog/error with
another user (on Fedora) in #kde.

After restarting akonadi

 akonadictl restart

and leaving that konsole window open, when I exec the failed search I see in
THAT console window:

This bug's been reported, repeatedly verified, and info about the apparently
related SQL problem has been provided.

Users keep asking what else is needed, offering to provide whatever info is
helpful, but no reply.

What are the chances of getting some attention on this? IMAP without search
is, frankly, useless.

I'd offer testing by my KDE 250+ user community, but as of last week, I've
migrated everybody off -- except myself. So I'll still help while I can -- on
just one environment. But it needs some input from a developer willing/able to
fix this.
