[korganizer] [Bug 466212] New: Crossing korganizer window border while prolonging an event causes crash

2023-02-21 Thread Patrick
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=466212

Bug ID: 466212
Summary: Crossing korganizer window border while prolonging an
event causes crash
Classification: Applications
   Product: korganizer
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Kubuntu
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: m...@patrick-nagel.net
  Target Milestone: ---

Application: korganizer (5.21.3 (22.08.3))

Qt Version: 5.15.6
Frameworks Version: 5.102.0
Operating System: Linux 5.19.0-31-generic x86_64
Windowing System: X11
Distribution: Ubuntu 22.10
DrKonqi: 5.26.5 [KCrashBackend]

-- Information about the crash:
I had added school holidays from Apr-3 to Apr-14 (multi-day event). When I
wanted to extend it to also cover the last weekend (Apr-15+16), I grabbed the
end of the event and moved the mouse to the right. I didn't stop it early
enough and somehow exited the korganizer window. In that instant korganizer
crashed. I could reproduce it easily. Also, when I prolong the event and stop
moving the mouse at the correct time, everything works as designed.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

[kmail2] [Bug 444116] New: The identity bound to an account always reverts to standard identity after restart of kmail

2021-10-20 Thread Patrick
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=444116

Bug ID: 444116
Summary: The identity bound to an account always reverts to
standard identity after restart of kmail
   Product: kmail2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: config dialog
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: p...@in-transit.cc
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
KMail sends mail from newly set up accounts with the standard identity instead
of the newly created identity.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set up new account with new identity
2. Click the folder of the new account
3. Click "New"

OBSERVED RESULT
The identity chosen by KMail in the drop down menu is the standard identity.

EXPECTED RESULT
The identity should be the new identity.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE Neon Testing 20211019-1822
KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.1
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.88
Qt Version: 5.15.3

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
KMail is my standard mail program and I use it with various accounts. During
the last six months this became a problem. Setting up a new account and linking
it to a new identity semms to work fine until I try to send a mail - KMail
automatically chooses the standard identity to send the mail.

In the settings dialogue (>Settings >Configure KMail >Receiving >[new Id]
>Modify >Advanced) under Identity settings "Use default identity" is not marked
and the dropdown menu shows correctly [new Id] as the chosen Id.

But in the "Folder properties" of the new account under the "General" tab the
dropdown menu shows the standard identity as selected ("Use default identity"
is not marked). After choosing [New Id] as the "Sender identity" subsequent
mails will be sent with the correct identity. After a restart of KMail the
standard identity will again be used instead of the [new Id].

The bug seems to have been introduced with the version of KMail that came with
Kubuntu 21.04 (hirsute hippo) and it's present in 21.10 as well. I checked the
current KDE Neon testing as well (KMail Version 5.18.3 (21.08.3)) and it is
still there.

I think that it's not a kmail issue.
The same happened on my system a few days ago when I tried to report a bug of
elisa music player using its "Launch Bug Report Wizard" option.

[kmail2] [Bug 366356] Reply action picks the wrong To address when replying between two identities of the same KMail instance

2019-11-25 Thread Patrick Wigmore
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=366356

I have also found this bug in KMail 5.1.3.

If I send myself emails from any one of my identities to any one of my other
identities, and then try to reply to those emails, the default is to reply to
the address that *received* the email that's being replied to, rather than the
address that *sent* it.

Deleting the identity that sent the email restores proper reply behaviour.
Re-creating the identity restores improper reply behaviour.

If the email contains a Reply-To header, then replies go to the Reply-To header
and this bug is not triggered.

This bug seems to have been reported previously in #301449 "Replying to a mail
sent by another identity in the same kmail copy leads to replying to the
current identity itself". That bug was not confirmed in a supported version of
KMail, so it was RESOLVED UNMAINTAINED.

I found it difficult to find this bug report, because the title is not very
descriptive, so I am taking the liberty of changing the title to make it a bit
more searchable.

[akregator] [Bug 256034] Feed content is displayed with date 07.02.2106 07:28

2019-04-13 Thread Patrick
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=256034

Created attachment 119395
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=119395=edit
Invalid date test feed

This is what happens (Akregator 5.10.3):
In Akregator::Feed::appendArticles fetched items are processed. All items are
stored in the feed's archive. Only new items which have a publication date
newer than the expiration date, will be appended to the feed's article list.
The next time the feed is fetched, all items which were processed earlier but
were not added to the article list and haven't changed since then, will be
processes as new items. That's when the problems start on these two lines:
 Article mya(*it, this);
 mya.offsetPubDate(nudge);

The (private) constructor of Article creates an object with an invalid
publication date (the default QDateTime constructor) because the item was
already stored in the feed's archive and it hasn't changed. On the next line
the publication date is updated, but based on the invalid publication date.
This causes the invalid date to be written to the feed's archive.

It's easy to reproduce with the attached feed:
1. Add the feed to Akregator.
2. Fetch the feed.

The article first appears as a blank line, but after restarting Akregator the
invalid is shown.

[akregator] [Bug 406405] New: Adding new feed suspends saving feeds until quit

2019-04-10 Thread Patrick
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=406405

Bug ID: 406405
Summary: Adding new feed suspends saving feeds until quit
   Product: akregator
   Version: 5.10.3
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: metakit plugin
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: patr...@noxs.nl
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Adding a new feed causes all feeds only to be saved until Akgregator is quit.
Normally feeds are saved immediately.

This is caused by Akregator::Backend::StorageMK4Impl::markDirty() in
storagemk4impl.cpp. When a new feed is created, the private member 'modified'
is set to true, but this causes markDirty to skip the commit.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add new feed.
2. Check ~/local/share/akregator/Archive

OBSERVED RESULT
New feed is 0 bytes in size. Additional fetched feeds are not saved.

EXPECTED RESULT
New feed should be larger than 0 bytes. Additional fetched feeds should be
saved immediately.

OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED

  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: patr...@noxs.nl
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
The option 'Move to Trash' in the scam detection menu doesn't move messages to
trash, but deletes them permanently. The following error is logged:
kmail[3963]: QObject::connect(KPIM::ProgressItem, KMTrashMsgCommand): invalid
null parameter.

Other move to trash actions (pressing the 'Del' key) work just fine.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Select a scam message in the Inbox.
2. In the Scam detection dropdown menu, select the action 'Move to Trash'.

OBSERVED RESULT
The message had disappeared from the Inbox, but is not moved to the Trash.

EXPECTED RESULT
The message should have been moved to the Trash.

Same thing here. Just two remarks:

* It does not happen, if I select signing plus encryption.
* I'm not quite sure yet but I think it produces bad signatures if I select
"Send as it is".

[korganizer] [Bug 386614] New: Deleted event does not disappear immediatly when using synced calendar

2017-11-07 Thread Patrick Eigensatz
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386614

Bug ID: 386614
Summary: Deleted event does not disappear immediatly when using
synced calendar
   Product: korganizer
   Version: 5.6.0
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: agendaview (weekview)
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: patrick.eigens...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

I use KOrganizer to sync events with my Google Calendar. It now happened a few
times that I deleted an entry in the agendaview and it was still there
afterwards. (It only loses the Google 'g' in the upper left corner.)
I have no problems when deleting a local-only event.

Since the event is still showing up I can also move/stretch it, but not delete
(Del key) it. Also, the context menu won't show up when right clicking on it.

When showing the preceeding week and then coming back again the event is gone.

Note: Menu -> View -> Refresh does *not* delete the event, I really need to
change the currently displayed week and come back.

It seems as if this only happens to newly created events. When I create an
event, switch the week and come back and then try to delete it, this does not
happen.

[akregator] [Bug 382587] Article viewer jumps to scroll position of previously viewed article

2017-10-05 Thread Patrick
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=382587

--- Comment #6 from Patrick <patr...@noxs.nl> ---
To clarify my case, I'll add some steps to reproduce the problem:

1. Select an article in the article list. Make sure the article is long enough
for the vertical scrollbar to appear in the article viewer.
2. In the article viewer, scroll down to the bottom of the article.
3. Select another article in the article list. Again, make sure the article is
long enough for the vertical scrollbar to appear in the article viewer.

Notice the scroll position after step 3. It's not at the top where you would
expect it to be.

Javascript is enabled for external URLs, loaded in a new tab. But javascript is
disabled for article content stored inside the feed, shown next to the article
list (in widescreen view) or below the article list (in normal view). See the
constructor of ArticleViewerWebEnginePage.

The idea was to clear the page and reset the scroll position to the top, but it
doesn't work well with the rest of the code.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=382587

--- Comment #2 from Patrick <patr...@noxs.nl> ---
I did some debugging and found that the scroll position is remembered by the
chromium backend used by Qt. The scroll position restore used by
akregator/messagelib isn't working because javascript is disabled. As enabling
javascript might have side effects, a possible solution is loading a blank page
before a new article is loaded in the viewer. You could do this in
ArticleHtmlWebEngineWriter::begin() by replacing:
  mWebView->load(QUrl());
with
  mWebView->load(QUrl(QStringLiteral("about:blank")));

The article viewer seems to remember its scroll position and apply it to the

selecting a new article, you first have to scroll up to the top position to
read the article from the beginning.

SyncEvolution uses the blocking API to execute jobs. That used to work fine
with older Akonadi, but on Debian Stretch (= 4.14.10-5) it just hangs. Below is
a stand-alone test program demonstrating the problem.

On Debian Jessie, the output is:

On Debian Stretch:
$ ./akonadi-ls

Here it got aborted after two hours.

[kmail2] [Bug 360000] New: KMail grabs default PCM device on notification

2016-03-02 Thread Patrick Auernig via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36

Bug ID: 36
Summary: KMail grabs default PCM device on notification
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.1
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: misc
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: patrick.auer...@gmail.com

The soundcard of my PC stopped working after a while, so I started monitoring
the usage of PCM devices in my system.

What I found is that KMail grabs the default PCM device of the system when a
notification dialog pops up (in my case it was the sieve script upload
confirmation dialog).

If the device is already in use (by pulseaudio), audio keeps working as it
should.

It seems that some notifications bypass pulseaudio and use ALSA directly, but
do not release the device afterwards.

Closing the application releases the device again, but its really annoying.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the sieve script editor
2. Klick OK to close the editor
3. Default PCM device gets used by KMail

Actual Results:
No audio over default soundcard

Expected Results:
Sound keeps working

[Akonadi] [Bug 329988] New: Pipe Trough filter breaks 'To:' field for messages sent to undisclosed recepients

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=329988

Bug ID: 329988
Summary: Pipe Trough filter breaks 'To:' field for messages
sent to undisclosed recepients
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 4.12
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Mail Filter Agent
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: patr...@noxs.nl

Messages sent by Arch Linux AUR notification system have a 'To:' field which
contains 'undisclosed-recipients: ;'. After filtering this message for spam or
viruses, the field is stripped to 'To' without a colon. This causes Kmail to
misinterpret the next line in the header, in this case the subject.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
To reproduce the bug, you have to be subscribed to an Arch Linux AUR
notification feed.
1. Disable automatic filtering and add one of the pipe trough filters to the
Apply Filter menu (e.g. clamav).
2. When a message from the Arch Linux AUR notification system arrives, apply a
pipe through filter.

[Akonadi] [Bug 327836] Akonadi Facebook resource crashes when attempting to enter login information for authentication

After upgrading KDE to 4.12.0, I tried again and it still did not work. I
checked this bug and did not realize it had been updated since I last commented
on it. Upon Mr. Wu's advice, I recompiled the ICU package dev-libs/icu on
Funtoo. After recompiling, I tried the Facebook and Google resources. They now
seem to work without any trouble. I do not know what the problem was. Perhaps
the last time I compiled ICU, I may have used some GCC optimizations that
caused trouble. In any case, I did not use any optimizations other than -O2
-march=core2 this time around and it worked fine. So this bug can be closed.

I upgraded to KDE 4.11.4, and the issue is still present. I also wanted to note
that the exact same problem also occurs with the Google Contacts and Google

component.

Bug ID: 328025
Summary: Moving read mail ends up in 'new' directory instead of
'cur' directory
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 4.11
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Maildir Resource
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: patr...@noxs.nl

Once a mail is read (in Kmail), it is moved from the folder's 'new' directory
to the 'cur' directory. But when you move this mail to another folder (or
delete it to trash), it is moved to the folder's 'new' directory.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select a mail in Kmail and mark it read.
2. In Kmail, move the mail to another folder.
3. Look up the mail in the maildir resource directory.
Actual Results:
The mail in the maildir resource is located in the target folder's 'new'

The mail in the maildir resource should be located in the target folder's 'cur'

[Akonadi] [Bug 327988] New: Server removes header and body data of maildir records in parttable

2013-11-23 Thread Patrick
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=327988

Bug ID: 327988
Summary: Server removes header and body data of maildir records
in parttable
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 4.11
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: server
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: patr...@noxs.nl

I'm heaving trouble with Akonadi Nepomuk Feeder which doesn't index existing
mails, and the reason seems to be that the data in the data field of all mail
records in parttable with name PLD:HEAD and name PLD:RFC822 is erased. When
a new mail arrives (either sent or received), it is stored correctly in the
database, but after a few minutes, the data field changes. I activated logging
of the mysql server, and it shows queries like these:

3 PrepareUPDATE PartTable SET pimItemId = ?, name = ?, data = ?, datasize =
?, version = ?, external = ? WHERE ( id = ? )
3 Reset stmt
3 ExecuteUPDATE PartTable SET pimItemId = 17353, name = 'PLD:HEAD', data =
NULL, datasize = 0, version = 1, external = 0 WHERE ( id = 34943 )
3 Reset stmt
3 ExecuteUPDATE PartTable SET pimItemId = 17353, name = 'PLD:RFC822', data
= NULL, datasize = 0, version = 1, external = 0 WHERE ( id = 34945 )
3 Reset stmt

I already created a new database, but that didn't change anything. Other
resources seem to be fine, only the maildir resource is affected. The Akonadi
Debugger, the Job Tracker, and the Notification Monitor don't show any output
when the update queries are executed.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Akonadi Console.
2. Select parttable in the DB browser (or use the DB console with a meaningful
query).
3. Send an email.
4. Find the email in the parttable.
5. Wait a few minutes and monitor the parttable for changes (by refreshing the
table).
Actual Results:
The data field of the records with name PLD:HEAD or PLD:RFC822 is cleared
and the datasize is set to 0.

Expected Results:
The data field should not have changed.

The fourth column is a ..

I didn't explicitly configure this in dovecot. In my
/etc/dovecot/conf.d/10-mail.conf file, there is an inbox namespace, with the
separator field commented out. In fact, everything is commented out in that
section except inbox = yes. So I'm guessing the default is . unless it is
explicitly set otherwise.

I will probably upgrade to fedora 19 relatively soon. That would be the
earliest I could try 4.11 (assuming they are at 4.11 in that version).

I've found what's causing the problem, but it's not KMail. In the Akonadi
source, the file server/src/handler/searchpersistent.cpp (in method
SearchPersistent::parseStream()) contains the following line:
  col.setRemoteId( queryString ); // ### remove, legacy compat

This sets the remote id of the virtual collection in which the search result
will be stored to the query which KMail sends to Akonadi. This collection is
only created if it doesn't already exist. But the query used as remote id is
too long ( 255 chars).

[kmail2] [Bug 275483] kmail2 fails to download any messages

This bug is still present in 4.10 on my system (Arch Linux x86_64). I've
recreated the Akonadi database, I've recreated all my accounts and I've
recreated the wallet for the passwords, but this didn't work. I've done some
experiments which may help to solve this bug.

On my system, Chromium and Kmail are normally launched when I log in. They both
use Kwallet. This situation always triggers the bug. However, if I shutdown
Chromium or Kmail before I log out and start them manually after the next
login, then everything works fine. In the first situation, when the bug is
triggered, restarting Chromium, Akonadi, and/or Kmail doesn't help. What does
help is aborting the mail fetch activities in Akonadi Console and killing the
kwallet daemon.

In previous versions (before 4.10), I could work around the problem by
disabling the mail check at startup. In 4.10, Kmail asks for a password
immediately when it is launched, so this workaround no longer works.

The password is indeed the one for the wallet. Without a password, everything
works fine. I also noticed that when this bug is triggered, Kmail asks for the
password at launch and for every account when it starts trying to fetch the
mail. In situations where the bug isn't triggered, Kmail asks for the password
only once (at launch).

[Bug 255388] Kmail filters dont work in incoming mail

This bug appears to be valid in kmail2 4.9.4. I've got multiple mail accounts
(POP3), all with their own inbox folder. I've setup a filter which moves
certain messages from one of the accounts' inbox into a subfolder of the inbox
folder. This filter should trigger on incoming messages, but it fails to do so.
It only works manually on 'apply filter'.

[Bug 309891] New: Filter buttons and context menu option are not shown

2012-11-11 Thread Patrick
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=309891

Bug ID: 309891
  Severity: normal
   Version: 4.9.3
  Priority: NOR
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
Summary: Filter buttons and context menu option are not shown
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
  Reporter: patr...@noxs.nl
  Hardware: Archlinux Packages
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Component: UI
   Product: kmail2

The filter buttons (like spam and ham) in the toolbar and their equivalent
context menu options are are not shown after login. Only after restarting
kmail, the buttons and context menu options are shown.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot and login (kmail starts automatically).
2. Check the kmail toolbar and context menu.
3. Restart kmail.
4. Check the kmail toolbar and context menu again.
Actual Results:
At step 2, the toolbar shows no filter buttons en the context menu shows no
filter actions.
At step 4, the buttons and actions are shown as expected,

Expected Results:
At step2, the toolbar should show the filter buttons and the context menu
should show the filter actions according the configuration.

This appears to be a problem with akonadi being started by kmail. When akonadi
is already running, kmail behaves as expected. Stopping akonadi and then
starting kmail, always reproduces the problem.
