[Bug 277626] New: Enterprise header swallows text in pointed brackets in the subject

2011-07-12 Thread Peter Paulsen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=277626

Summary: Enterprise header swallows text in pointed brackets in
the subject
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 2.1.0
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: kdebugs.99.urgw...@spamgourmet.com

Version: 2.1.0 (using KDE 4.6.4)
OS:Linux

When the subject of an email contains text in pointed brackets <> that part of
the subject is not shown in the message header when the enterprise header is
used. I can only see the correct subject of the email in the message list.

E.g. a subject "Me " would read just as "Me" and subject "" just would be shown as blank.

Reproducible: Always

Expected Results:
All text in the subject should be shown in the subject line of the header.

[Bug 277624] New: middle click on folder opens a new blank tab instead of the folder chosen

2011-07-12 Thread Peter Paulsen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=277624

Summary: middle click on folder opens a new blank tab instead
of the folder chosen
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 2.1.0
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: UI
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: kdebugs.99.urgw...@spamgourmet.com

Version: 2.1.0 (using KDE 4.6.4)
OS:Linux

When I middle-click on a folder in the folder pane of Kmail 1 a tab is opened
which shows the content of the chosen folder. The tab is named like the folder.

When I do the same in Kmail too just a blank tab opens that also is called
"blank" (Leer in German). The content of the chosen folder instead is shown in
the first tab which nonetheless has the name of the folder I originally had in
that tab. So tabbing is useless by now because actually only one tab is used in
which the content gets "overwritten".

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Make your Inbox the current folder. The middle click on e.g. drafts. Two tabs
appear: A new blank one opens in the foreground and as first tab in the
background you can see "inbox". Go the inbox tab - surprise - it shows the
content of your drafts folder.

Expected Results:
Should behave the same as in KMail 1: middle click on a folder opens it in a
new tab which also has the name of the chosen folder. The other tabs keep their
content.

I have several email addresses. For all addresses my name is the same. In the
message list I cannot see to or from which of my addresses the emails are
because only my name is shown.

The same is for the remote sender/recipient. Only the name of the person is
shown when a name is specified.

I don't like to see only the names, I want to see the whole email address to
distinguish the persons with same name and to distinguish a person's various
accounts and to identify fake mails. It is not only time consuming and
inefficient to always have to click on every mail to see this information, I
consider it also a security issue.

Please add an option to always show the sender's and recipient's email address
in the message list like this: Name .

Same problems here (Kubuntu, KDE 4.6.4 and Kmail 2.1.0): The folders in the
favorite folders' field don't accept drag'n'drop and they don't show the number
of unread mails in them. The latter could be achieved for the icon view with an
overlay that shows the number of new/unread messages. Another problem is that
the order of the favorite folders cannot be manipulated by the user! All issues
do work with Kmail 1!

I also agree that the appearance should be configurable (icon size, layout,
order).

Couldn't you add a second header that looks just like the enterprise header but
which shows the full email address? Then the user could choose the preferred
one: the clean and good looking one or the secure and informational good
looking one.

In other applications it is possible to close tabs with a click of the middle
mouse button. Alas not in kmail. In kmail I either have to navigate to the tab
close button at the right side of the window or right click onto the tab and
choose to close it. Using the middle mouse button would be much more convenient
- and consistent compared to the behaviour of other applications.

[Bug 209447] New: Enterprise header hides sender's email address

Summary: Enterprise header hides sender's email address

Version: 1.12.1 (using KDE 4.3.1)
OS:Linux
Installed from:Debian testing/unstable Packages

Kmail's enterprise header doesn't show the sender's email address, just the
name of the sender. In my eyes that's a security issue because anybody
(virus...) could send you a fake message and you cannot see it when you look at
the mail. You also cannot see from which account someone is writing to you
(office, private, mobile) and you cannot distinguish between persons with the
same name (e.g. I have three friends who are just shown as "Mike"). That's
especially important for enterprise use for which this header seems to be
created. We have several customers with the same name so there is the risk of
sending wrong information to the wrong person when using this header.

Please show the sender's email address in the enterprise header, it would be a
big plus for private and office use.

[Bug 202111] New: categorized list view in kmail: clicking on category header should allow to mark or move all mails of the category

When I use the categorized view for my list of mails the category headers have
a RMB context menu with two options: expanding and closing all categories.

What I really miss are the following options in this context menu:
- mark (all mails of) this group as: read/unread, new, important etc.
- select all mails of this group
- move this group to folder/trash
- print all mails of this group
- save all mails of this group
- save attachements of all mails of this group

And by grabbing the group's header with the mouse it should be possible to drag
the whole group to another folder or trash.

Would ease handling mails and keeping the inbox clean a lot.

In kontact of KDE4 the sidebar is too small when you use other than small icons

the bottom of the sidebar and text not displayed in whole. There is a drag and
