The monitor is capable of 3840x2160 resolution and has supported this resolution in KWin Wayland in the past. I can see and select this resolution in System Settings. Since this morning (with no user changes to my KDE configuration or packages), the monitor comes up with 2560x1440. I can set it to 3840x2160 in System Settings. However, when I apply the settings, the monitor will go to 2560x1440 anyway (as confirmed by the monitor's HUD), and when I enter System Settings again, I see it again at 2560x1440. [Akonadi] [Bug 445217] Configuration file mess under $XDG_CONFIG_HOME
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=445217 --- Comment #4 from Philipp Reichmuth --- The reason for this bug report was not that I tried to edit the configuration manually, but that I tried to back up my KDE configuration and the files are all over the place. I appreciate that there is a technical reasons behind it. But for a user who knows nothing about the architecture of Akonad,i this is not very intuitive and can be confusing. Akonadi is not the only app that does this, but it's a particularly obvious one because it makes its own config subdirectory, but then puts several files outside of it. I prefer how Falkon or KDE Connect do it - one subdirectory under $XDG_CONFIG_HOME with all config data underneath it (and ideally persistent stateful data should then go separately under $XDG_STATE_HOME). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=445217 --- Comment #2 from Philipp Reichmuth --- There may be a rationale to it, but as a user I find it rather confusing to have seven Akonadi config files under ~/.config, and then another subdirectory called akonadi with another 30 files. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

While this technically does not contradict the XDG spec, this is inconsistent, difficult to use., and contributes to the mess in ~/.config that is a deterrent to many novice users. In my case, this is a domain which doesn't have autoconfig information, so there's nothing to be found. But the connection attempt triggers a SSL cert warning in a popup dialog, making the setup procedure quite unfriendly for new users. (The popup appears multiple times with always one more "www." added, and the user doesn't really know why this domain is accessed in the first place). STEPS TO REPRODUCE (if you want to do it with my server config) 1. Add a new account in kmail. 2. Use anyth...@philipp-wagner.com as username, and choose a random passwort. 3. See the cert error. OBSERVED RESULT see screenshot in attachment (sorry, in German) EXPECTED RESULT The cert error should not be shown. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=333907 Philipp philipp_foers...@yahoo.com changed: What|Removed |Added CC||philipp_foers...@yahoo.com --- Comment #5 from Philipp philipp_foers...@yahoo.com --- (In reply to Martin Tlustos from comment #4) Here (Kubuntu 14.10, KDE 4.14.1) it is a bit different: creating and deleting contacts works, but changes to a contact are not synced from korganizer to google. Changes in Gmail contacts are synced to korganizer, but if I change a contact both in korganizer and Google, nothing gets updated from korganizer to google anymore, and changes from within google only get updated randomly to korganizer (address changes seem to work, but url does not etc.) exactly the same here on kubuntu 14.10 kde 4.14.1. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
[kontact] [Bug 335345] New: importing dates into calender by a received invitation email doesn't work, deletes email
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=335345 Bug ID: 335345 Summary: importing dates into calender by a received invitation email doesn't work, deletes email Classification: Unclassified Product: kontact Version: 4.13 Platform: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: critical Priority: NOR Component: mail Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Reporter: philipp_foers...@yahoo.com I tried to use the button kontact/kmail shows me (record, move to trash, delegate, forward, check my calender) to add a calender event of a received email invitation (attached .ics file). Clicking record does NOT add anything to my calender and the email gets deleted. It is completely deleted, not moved to trash or some other place so I cannot recover it. The email contained invitations for two events so clicking record on one event already deletes the email so you can't add the second event. I had to request the invitation again and made a copy to try again, same problem. I think kontact should have never deleted the email, it might contain other important stuff and you might still need the invitation email for other purposes. And of course I would expect it to really add the calender event and ask which calender I would like to use. opening the files and adding them to my calender of choice with korganizer worked as expected. [Bug 287685] Message list does not reflect folder after using folder filter box.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=287685 --- Comment #5 from Philipp Woelfel woel...@gmx.net --- I'm a bit confused by the original bug report. Here is what happens on my system: If I enter something in the *folder* filter (the one that is by default not turned out, but you can turn it on in the preferences), the *message* list gets corrupted. I.e., after selecting a new folder from the ones that are still visible when the filter is on, the messages that are shown in the message list do not correspond to the selected folder. Sometimes, the message list seems to show a mix of messages from the selected folder and some other folder (the one that was active before I entered something in the filter field). This behavior does not change even once I clear the filter. The only way to get back to a normal behavior is by restarting kmail2. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

[Bug 83339] optional warning when replying to a mailing list
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83339 Philipp Woelfel woel...@gmx.net changed: What|Removed |Added CC||woel...@gmx.net --- Comment #6 from Philipp Woelfel woelfel gmx net 2011-09-20 23:11:12 --- I almost forgot about this feature, until for some reasons I switched my kmail shortcut configuration back to the default, and... replied with R...unfortunately to the mailing-list, not the author - highly embarassing (again!) Please, please, please, make R the default short-cut for reply to author. This is what people typically want. Currently, the default short-cut for reply to author is Shift+A - nobody uses that! Ever! [Bug 278964] New: [regression] folder quick filter empties current folder
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=278964 Summary: [regression] folder quick filter empties current folder Product: kmail2 Version: unspecified Platform: openSUSE RPMs OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: folders AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: woel...@gmx.net Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.7.0) OS:Linux When entering something into the (folder) quick filter field, the currently selected folder switches to empty, even before a new folder is selected. Thus, the message list is cleared. In kmail 1, the currently selected folder remained the same. This regression makes the quick filter ineffective for sorting e-mails into folders: In kmail1 you could select a message that you wanted to move into a folder, find the folder using the quick filter field, and then immediately move the message to the target folder. This is not possible anymore. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Select an arbitrary folder. Enter an arbitrary string in the (folder) quick filter field. Actual Results: The currently selected folder changed to empty Expected Results: The currently selected folder is not changed -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
