[Bug 306531] New: Re-opening draft e-mail with attached HTML file edits that file's content, loses previous mail body

2012-09-10 Thread Ronny Multrus
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=306531

Bug ID: 306531
  Severity: normal
   Version: 4.9.1
  Priority: NOR
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
Summary: Re-opening draft e-mail with attached HTML file edits
that file's content, loses previous mail body
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
  Reporter: k...@ronino.de
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Component: composer
   Product: kmail2

I created an e-mail with an attached HTML file and saved it as a draft. When I
opened it for re-editing and sending, the previous mail body text was gone and
the attached file's content was displayed as editable content instead. Saving
the mail again as draft loses the original mail body text.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new e-mail with some body text
2. attach an HTML file
3. save it as a draft
4. re-open the draft mail for editing/sending
Actual Results:
Mail body is gone, HTML file's content contained in editor as editable instead

Expected Results:
Mail body text as entered before, correctly attached files

[Bug 278964] [regression] folder quick filter empties current folder

2012-03-12 Thread Ronny Multrus
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=278964

--- Comment #5 from Ronny Multrus k...@ronino.de ---
Seeing this bug still being open makes me think that nobody ever uses this
quick filter/search to sort mails. But infact there is no easy way now to sort
mails from a folder with hundreds of mails into one of dozens of other
folders...

As opposed to what the original author wrote, entering something into the
folder filter box correctly filters folders, but clears any mail search now for
me. Normally I filter mails by subject, sender or something and then decide
where to put it. Now I have to do it the other way round (filter folders, then
filter mails).

And there's another bug in the folder filter: Clicking one of the filtered
folders displays the mails of that folder and those of the previously selected
one.

[Bug 285676] akonadi blocks kmail because of searching for bogus emails

I can confirm all of the above debug outputs, running KMail 4.7.4 and Akonadi
1.6.2 on Gentoo.

KMail and Akonadi are incredible resource hogs on my system, Akonadi's mysqld
takes up to 50 % CPU for long times and KMail blocks and hangs most of the time
with Akonadi's constantly pending database requests.

I'm also having a mix of mbox and maildir files of 3,5 GB with about 80.000
e-mails which I migrated automatically when I switched from 4.4 to 4.7.

[Bug 279087] Filters are applied to unread messages

2011-11-30 Thread Ronny Multrus
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=279087

--- Comment #3 from Ronny Multrus kde ronino de 2011-11-30 08:30:48 ---
(In reply to comment #2)
Akonadi/Kmail can not recognize incoming messages.
Because of this it is not possible to filter incoming messages or to give
 these
 messages a different colour.

Isn't recognizing new mails an essential feature of any e-mail application?

The UI seems inconsistent, as (in 4.7.2( any filter has the option of being
applied to incoming messages...

Still exists in 4.7.2. Please fix this as this is a major step back to the
times when there was no folder quick filter...

Same here in 4.7.2. I didn't test the moving, but anytime I open KMail, it
reapplies the filters to all unread messages in my inbox, which makes it
unusable for 30 min as it runs 400 messags thru spamassassin!

As you said, filters should only be applied to incoming messages. But I also
noticed that, when downloading new mails, all of them first go to the inbox and
are further processed and moved only afterwards. Maybe this causes the problem.

I can confirm this for KDE 4.7.2. In the last days I switched from 4.6 to 4.7
(with KMail from 4.4 to 4.7) and I haven't seen a single new message in red
color, new and unread ones are both in blue.

[Bug 166653] Index files recreated on startup and mail check

--- Comment #19 from Ronny Multrus kde ronino de 2009-09-30 07:42:47 ---
After not having this for a long time (see comment #15), I'm now back again
with this bug. I'm still on KDE 4.2.4 and Qt 4.5 on Gentoo and the bug somehow
reappeared. I don't have a search folder nor do I do things different than
before. One can see Kontact is actually reindexing by executing lsof -p
kontact's process id|grep index. This displays the index files currently
opened by Kontact.
