I guess it is much more important to have a Twitter widget on the desktop than
a functional e-mail client.

It is clear that by the time KMail gets proper HTML support - meaning *full*
composing, replying and so on - it will have become irrelevant. Objectively,
KMail is dead, even though it doesn't know it yet. It pains me to say it,
because excepting the two major problems (HTML and IMAP), it is the best e-mail
client I have used.

May I suggest that instead of waging a lost battle, some serious effort is made
to integrate Thunderbird better in KDE. KWallet, KGPG support and so on. That
would be the constructive thing to do.
