I no longer use KOrganizer for my events, so I can't test this anymore to
confirm this bug. If/when I return to try KOrganizer again, and I run into this
issue again, I'll reopen.

Since there are no votes on it, and nobody is subscribed to it, I assume nobody
else is interested or has encountered this bug, so I'm closing with WORKSFORME.

  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: EWS Resource
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: ovidiu@gmail.com

  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I'm trying to authenticate to a mailbox on outlook.office365.com using the
Username/Password authentication method.

The auto discovery of the domain works fine, but as soon as the account config
is saved I get a "Authentication failed" error. The company IT reports that the
authentication is successful.

A short test with the https://github.com/ecederstrand/exchangelib library, with
the same username and password was able to list my emails. I used the example
from their readme.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create new EWS account from KMail config -> Add custom account
2. Enter my username and password, domain disabled
3. Click OK

OBSERVED RESULT
Account status shows: "Authentication failed"

EXPECTED RESULT
Account to connect and see my emails.

SUMMARY
When I change my password for a Office 365 account, Kmail fails to authenticate
but gives no message to let me know what's happening. The only hint that the
authentication has failed is the account status in the Kmail config in Accounts
in Incoming. And that only if you have that window open and in focus while you
trigger the fetch mail on that account (which you can't do form that window).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Connect KMail to a MS Office 365 account
2. Read emails
3. Change password to the account (don't update the password in KMail, yet)
4. Fetch new mails

OBSERVED RESULT
Resource gets in the "Disconnected" state.

EXPECTED RESULT
A pop-up message (dialog box) to appear prompting the user to re-authenticate
and after successful authentication to redo the fetch mails.

SUMMARY
When deleting an email, the next message in the list is being selected.

It would allow a user to move much faster through the unread emails if after
deletion the next message selected would be the next unread message in the list
from the one deleted, going chronologically towards the most recent message.

Let's discuss this to find the best way of achieving better efficiency.

I've just experienced this, again. One unusual thing I did that might have
triggered it:

I was experimenting a workaround for
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=400730 and took KMail in offline mode,
then synced only one account (not the EWS one).

IIRC since then I couldn't get any new emails, not read the unread ones I
already had locally. I have brought KMail back to online mode, and restarted
everything. I also tried removing the entry for this resource from KWallet, to
trigger a re-login.

It behaves like everything is ok, but just doesn't fetch any new mails.

After removing and re-adding the EWS resource (Deleted and added it again from
KMail) it works as usual.

A workaround would be:

* Go to File -> Work offline
* Select the root item of the account you want online, right click it and
select refresh

This way all accounts would be offline and only the "Personal" one can be
online.

Triggering a refresh all would bring all accounts online.

SUMMARY
The button used to expand the list of recipient emails is showing a double
arrow to the left when compacted and a double arrow up when expanded.

I believe this should have been the other way around, and it's like this by
mistake.

I'd recommend that this button be placed in a more intuitive position: Have it
be under the collapsed/expanded list next to a "Show more"/"Show less" message.

[korganizer] [Bug 402417] New: Accepting invitations strips event notifications

2018-12-21 Thread Ovidiu-Florin BOGDAN
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=402417

Bug ID: 402417
Summary: Accepting invitations strips event notifications
   Product: korganizer
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: invitations
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: ovidiu@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
When accepting an invite to an event from KMail, the event is added to the
calendar (visible in KOrganizer), but it's notifications are missing.

If the invite is accepted through Google web interface (Calendar web
interface), the event is added to the calendar (visible in KOrganizer), and the
notifications are present.

PREREQUISITES:
* 2 Google accounts (A and B)
* Account B registered in KMail and KOrganizer, to see it's emails and calendar

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create an event in Google Calendar (web view) with account A and send an
invite to account B
2. From KMail in account B accept the invite to the event (which will ask you
to choose a calendar)
3. Choose the main account calendar

OBSERVED RESULT
The event is added to the calendar, but the notifications for the event are not
set (empty). The notifications are visible on the Google calendar web
interface.

Adding notifications through the web interface does not add them locally.
Adding them locally, duplicates the event.

EXPECTED RESULT
Event to be created in the calendar (visible in KOrganizer) with the set
notifications. Just like if the event is accepted from Google Calendar web
interface.

When accepting an invitation to an event (using Google calendar), the event
gets duplicated in the source calendar.

If the event is moved and I accept the change, the event is duplicated again.

This results in both me and the other event guests seeing the event twice or
more. The original event is organized by the organizer, and the rest are
organized by me.

PREREQUISITES:
* 2 Google accounts (A and B)
* Account B registered in KMail and KOrganizer, to see it's emails and calendar

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create an event in Google Calendar (web view) with account A and send an
invite to account B
2. From KMail in account B accept the invite to the event (which will ask you
to choose a calendar)
3. Choose the main account calendar

OBSERVED RESULT
Event shows up in the calendar.
A duplication of the event shows up in the calendar with account B as the
organizer and account A is invited.
If the event is altered by account A, and the invite is accepted again, another
duplication is created.

EXPECTED RESULT
A single event to appear in the calendar.
If the event is altered by account A, and the invite is accepted again, the
event to be moved to the new time.

[kmail2] [Bug 400730] New: [Feature request] Timed sync and notification per account

2018-11-06 Thread Ovidiu-Florin BOGDAN
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=400730

Bug ID: 400730
Summary: [Feature request] Timed sync and notification per
account
   Product: kmail2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: unspecified
OS: All
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: ovidiu@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I have on the same KMail instance my work and personal accounts. It would be
very useful if I could at the end of the business day deactivate the work
account, so it doesn't sync and I don't get notifications, unless I manually
tell it to. The way I imagine this is to set my work hours, and have that
account active only in that period.

[kmail2] [Bug 376565] Automatic spell checking is not working

2018-02-27 Thread Bogdan Mihaila
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=376565

(In reply to Laurent Montel from comment #7)
> you report as it's not a specific kmail bug
> => please reassign to Qt or kf5

Hi Laurent

I'm having a hard time to find any of above in the product drop down list of
Bugzilla. Guess those just do not exist. I could reassign to
frameworks-ktextedit but not sure if that is any better? Would not want to
cause noise elsewhere if this might actually be fixed in Qt upstream.
Suggestions?

[kmail2] [Bug 376565] Automatic spell checking is not working

(In reply to avlas from comment #8)

Interesting. This would be very good news as the bug had spellchecking unusable
for more than 2 years now. I'll try to get my hands on a Kate build with Qt
5.10

Or if someone else has then please confirm the fix.

Thanks
Bogdan

Can confirm that the bug still exists on Ubuntu.
Kate: 17.04.3
KDE Frameworks: 5.43.0
Qt: 5.9.1

This affects all apps using Katepart, e.g. Kmail, Kile, Kate, ...
As can be in the attached screenshots at font size 8 the spellcheck markers are
shown but as soon as changing the font size to 9 or higher they disappear. The
automatic spellchecking is thus not usable on high-dpi systems where font sizes
>10 are the norm for text.

Font size 9 and higher do not show the underline wiggle on typos. On high-dpi
systems such font sizes are a minimum

[akregator] [Bug 375119] New: Preview Browser does not remember zoom

2017-01-15 Thread Bogdan Mihaila
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375119

Bug ID: 375119
Summary: Preview Browser does not remember zoom
   Product: akregator
   Version: GIT (master)
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: internal browser
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: bogdan.miha...@gmx.de
  Target Milestone: ---

Steps to reproduce:
1. Change the zoom level of the preview browser using Ctrl+ or Ctrl- or the
Mouse wheel while holding Ctrl pressed.
2. Navigate through the same feed -> Zoom level of Web Browser stays same
3. Navigate to another feed -> Zoom level is reset

Expected behavior is to have the zoom level remembered even when changing the
feed and not reset.

It is interesting because it seems the zoom value itself is remembered between
feeds but just not applied to the browser. This can be seen when changing the
feed and then again changing the zoom of the browser. Even though the browser
shows the page scaled for zoom 0 when changing the zoom it suddenly applies the
remembered value and the zoom is modified from that value on.

Hi

When selecting the option "Load the full website when reading articles" for a
particular feed each article gets opened in the external browser instead of
just showing the website in the internal preview browser. This behavior/bug
seems to have been introduced in latest browser component related changes as
the package from Ubuntu Yaketty (16.04.3-0ubuntu2) does not have the bug.

Expected behavior is the old one, i.e. show the full website in the internal
preview browser and do not open it in the external browser. Currently it is
impossible to have that option "load full website" set as just walking through
the list of articles (with e.g. left, right arrow keys) opens up a new tab in
the external browser.

Also the bug seems to be related to the "Configure Internal Browser Component"
settings because whatever is chosen in the "Left Mouse Click" Drop down box as
an action, i.e. "Open in Tab/Bakground Tab/External Browser" will be executed
when navigating/reading articles in a feed. Above option though is only meant
(and was used like that before) when clicking links in the preview browser.

The above behavior is not triggered for feeds that do not have "Load the full
website when reading articles" option set.

[kontact] [Bug 344715] New: Simple interface for managing accounts

2015-03-01 Thread Ovidiu-Florin BOGDAN
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=344715

Bug ID: 344715
Summary: Simple interface for managing accounts
   Product: kontact
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: ovidiu@gmail.com

The current interface is split in multiple places from where an account can be
managed. This is quite cumbersome for new users and especially for non tech
users.

Current layout for managing an account:
- Separate location with all the identities
- Separate location with all the incoming server
- Separate location with all the outgoing server
- Separate location with the contacts
- Separate location with the calendar
- Separate location with the tasks

For adding an account there's a wizard that helps with that, which in the case
of Kolab Groupware it adds all of the above.
For other types you'd have to add each one separately.

If by any reason there's a need to remove an account or perform certain changes
(the server URL has changed) this is incredibly tedious to do, because a user
would have to remove/modify each one of those separately, this way providing
much confusion amongst users.

As an example, Thunderbird groups accounts and each account has a submenu with
all of it's settings (identity, incoming and outgoing). We could go one step
further and provide full account control from one place, especially for
Groupware servers. In the meantime, not removing the possibility to add
separate account for each one of those. Maybe even allow multiple resources to
one account.

Currently our layout is focused on separate resources. My proposition is that
we group those resources to accounts, to ease their modification and removal.

Reproducible: Always

I used the default reply function. If that is set to reply as HTML then yes.
I haven't changed any settings regarding that matter.

Sorry for the late response. I haven't seen your message.

Bug Report Invalid. (or it was fixed)

There is a sorting option that does this: View -> Message List -> Sorting -> By
Date/Time of most recent in Subtree.

[kmail2] [Bug 330533] New: There should be a global setting for Keep replies in the folder of the message being replied to

2014-01-29 Thread Ovidiu-Florin Bogdan
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=330533

Bug ID: 330533
Summary: There should be a global setting for Keep replies in
the folder of the message being replied to
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.12.1
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: folders
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: ovidiu@gmail.com

Currently to keep replies in the folder of the message being replied to, you
have to enable this in the folder properties of each folder, which is good,
unless you have tens/hundreds of folders.

A global setting that allows you to globally enable or disable this for all
folders, would be tremendously useful.

This is a common function in other email clients, like Thunderbird.

When I reply to an email, the links and font styles are stripped from the
signature, remaining only the simple text.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. set a signature with Bold, color, links and others
2. reply to an email with the same identity that has that signature set up.
Actual Results:
The html/css is stripped from the signature.

Expected Results:
The signature to appear exactly as set.

If I switch identityes, and the switch back , the HTML/CSS apears as should (in
the signature).

2013-08-27 Thread Ovidiu-Florin Bogdan

Bug ID: 324122
Summary: when messages are displayed in thread view and sorted

Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.11
  Platform: Archlinux Packages

Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: message list
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: ovidiu@gmail.com

If the message list is set to show messages in thread view and the messages are
sorted by date, the sorting is done after the first message of the thread, thus
making the new messages very hard to find if they are in an old thread.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set View Aggregation to Standard mail list
2. Set sorting to Date/Time
3. Have a few mail threads
4. Receive new mail in those threads
Actual Results:
The new messages are very hard to locate, because the list is sorted by the
date of the first message in the thread, not the last.

Expected Results:
The thread should be moved at the top of the list. The sorting should be done
by the date of the last message in the thread.

As an example of this functionality, you can try the same thing in Mozilla
Thunderbird.

This is wrong. It is not the same bug. This is not a duplicate of bug 312460!!

312460 reffers to an incorrect number of unread emails to a folder caused by a
filter.

This bug reffers to an actual unread mail shown in the folders list, but not in
the message list when the folder is selected.

Please correct!

When a new mail is received if a filter marks it as read, there should be no
notification for that email. The email is marked as read automatically, usialy
because the user does not want to know about it.
Also there should be no notification if the mail is moved by the filter to a
folder that was set not to act on new mail.

I'm not sure, but this could also apply to deleted emails.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set kmail to show notifications on new mail.
2. set a filter to mark mail as read or move to a folder marked not to act on
new mail
Actual Results:
Notification is shown for all received emails

Notifications should not aprear on emails that the filters marked as read or
