[Bug 264834] New: kmail crashes when deleting all accounts

2011-01-30 Thread g111
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=264834

Summary: kmail crashes when deleting all accounts
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 2.0.89
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: g...@netcologne.de

Application: kmail (2.0.89)
KDE Platform Version: 4.6.41 (4.7 = 20110106) (Compiled from sources)
Qt Version: 4.7.1
Operating System: Linux 2.6.37-0.slh.12-aptosid-686 i686
Distribution (Platform): Debian unstable

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

Because kmail did show the Local Folders folder 5 times in the folder view, I
tried to remove all accounts in the settings. There were 2 accounts configured
(with different names, but both for checking local maildirs, none of them both
configured correctly). I did mark the second entry and removed it. Then I did
mark the first account and removed it. After clicking ok in the dialog do
you really want to delete..., kmail did crash.

I did not try again yet, because I do not want to close this crash reporting
assistant and currenty a kmail process is still running, so that I cannot start
another one. I will check it again after sending this report.

[Bug 264834] kmail crashes when deleting all accounts

2011-01-30 Thread g111
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=264834

--- Comment #1 from g111 netcologne de 2011-01-30 12:05:18 ---
Currently I cannot test the further behaviour because I cannot start kmail
anymore:

KMail encountered a fatal error and will terminate now.
The error was:
Could not create collection

I think I have to delete the kmail settings of my test account? Or akonadi or
something? Or should I keep it to be able to test/check some things?

This seems related to bug 176048. Ok, here it is in knode and there globally in
KDE, but maybe the same config-module is used as it looks the same?

I have got this error, too: debian/sid (sidux)
kmail: 4:4.3.2-1
libqt4: 4.5.3-4

What I was doing:
Testing the filtering options in kmail to see, if it is worth to change to
kmail from thunderbird. I have a local imap server and filtered some mails
(from bugs.kde.org) on manual apply from one imap folder to another. Then I
clicked around a little bit in kmail and decided to quit kmail. kmail exited an
the Crash Reporting Assistant did show up:

[Bug 165248] Naming Action Item vs ToDo

Perhaps a little other idea: Why not call it Mark message as Action without
the Item? You would not say Mark message as To Do Item or as Important
Item either.

Ok, IMHO it is not a problem to call it Action Item, but the status-filtering
should use this naming, too. (Or has it been changed already to Action Item?)

Only one thing with Action Item: When I had read this the first time, I
thought it would be something very special for e.g. scripting kmail by perhaps
triggering an event or something. So it sounds like it would be more than just
a tag. But this might only be a minor problem.

Summary: Naming Action Item vs ToDo
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.9.52
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs kde org
ReportedBy: g111 netcologne de

Version: 1.9.52 (using KDE 4.0.83)
Installed from:Compiled From Sources
OS:Linux

In the folder view of kmail you can choose to only see mails that are tagged as
To Do.

For me it was very difficult to find out how to tag a mail as To Do, because
the tag is named Action Item. This is inconsistent and should be called To
Do, too.

Also the feature for adding a message to korganizer via Create
To-do/Reminder... is making it difficult to differ between this three things.

So my suggestion for naming these is:

* Mark Message as To Do
* [Filter Status] To Do
* Create entry in korganizer...

(This issue is related to kmail from KDE 3.5.9 as well)
