I 'm having these problems on one machine with nouveau.
No problems on two machines with fglrx, and another install with amdgpu-pro.

For me on Arch with kmail 5.0.2 / 15.08.2, kmail still crashes next time new
message button is pressed, if French dictionary is selected and set to
permanent.

Malfunction persists with kmail 5.0.2 on KF 15.08.2.
The IMAP server info in the account dialog is 

IMAP4REV1
ID
LITERAL+
IDLE
QUOTA
NAMESPACE
SORT
UIDPLUS
UNSELECT

if it may be helpful. If you instruct me how to get useful information, I would
be happy to follow your steps.
