The updated packages on 3/10 allowed Akonadi to start doing a data scan that
never finished.
The packages released on 3.11 are back to the original issue.

[Akonadi] [Bug 331867] Column in embedded mysqld can not be null

2014-03-08 Thread tbohaning
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=331867

I did a little further checking. My original database that is currently failing
has a column "name" varbinary(255), Null = no, Key =MUL.

As a cross check, I created a completely new DB and checked the layout. The new
parttable does not have a name column.

If looks like an incomplete upgrade of the DB occurred.

Starting kontact brings up a grayed out background for kmail. Indicating that
Akonadi is not running. Pressing the Start button attempts to do an upgrade of

I'm seeing this in the 4.8.1 Kubuntu update.

Everything was working prior to the update. Since then my Kmail Folders
resource is displaying the error message (NO[LRCONFLICT} Resource tries to
modify item with dirty payload, aborting STORE.)

Only is failing with this specific resource. Others are working as expected..

[Bug 285825] New: Right-clicking on a message in a mailing list --> Create Filter shows Filter On Mailing List disabled

2011-11-05 Thread tbohaning
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=285825

Summary: Right-clicking on a message in a mailing list -->
Create Filter shows Filter On Mailing List disabled
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.7
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: tbohan...@gmail.com

Version: 4.7 (using KDE 4.7.3)
OS:Linux

This right-click menu doesn't detect the List-ID attribute in my E-mails and
create a filter accordingly, unlike with From, To or Subject filter creation.
This means I have to manually view the source to create a filter based on
List-ID. Less knowledgeable users may instead manually create filters based on,
"To:" and, "CC:" properties, which is clumsy.

This was documented as fixed, but is currently broken. I have no way to reopen
a bug, so I'm opening a new report... Previous bug was 276037

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Hilight message. Right click and select Create Filter... Filter on Mailing list
is disabled.

Actual Results:
Unable to select Mailing list

Expected Results:
Should be able to select mailing list

[Bug 282652] New: Setting up filters for Distribution lists does not work

2011-09-23 Thread tbohaning
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=282652

Summary: Setting up filters for Distribution lists does not

   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.7
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: filtering
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: tbohan...@gmail.com

Version: 4.7 (using KDE 4.7.1)
OS:Linux

Kmail2 ( version 4.7.1 ) does not permit filtering based on Distribution lists.
There is an associated ticket 276037 that indicates the bug was fixed in 4.7.0
and then closed.

The problem exists in 4.7.1.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Select an email from a distribution list. Right click on it. Move mouse to
Create Filter. The option to "filter on Mailing list" is grayed out..

Actual Results:
Open is grayed out

[Bug 259048] New: Clicking on a folder in the Favorite list causes the Folder list to scroll

2010-12-06 Thread tbohaning
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=259048

Summary: Clicking on a folder in the Favorite list causes the
Folder list to scroll
   Product: kontact
   Version: 4.5 pre
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: mail
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: tbohan...@gmail.com

Version: 4.5 pre (using KDE 4.5.80)
OS:Linux

Hi when I click on a folder listed in favorites the the folder list immediately
scrolls to that folder and makes it active.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Click on a folder in the favorites list. Watch the folder list scroll to that
folder.

Expected Results:
I would be better to have the windows act independently. Or at least have a
switch to select the preferred way of working.

[Bug 259038] New: Log file needs additional detail

2010-12-06 Thread tbohaning
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=259038

Summary: Log file needs additional detail
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 4.6
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: tbohan...@gmail.com

Version: 4.6 (using KDE 4.5.80)
OS:Linux

The log file ~/.local/share/akonadi/akonadiserver.error needs to have some
additional detail. There are 2 typical messages in the log file:

1) ItemRetrieverException : Unable to contact resource

2) ItemRetrieverException : Unable to retrieve item from resource: Did not
receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a
reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout
expired, or the network connection was broken.

Both of these messages would be of much greater value if they indicated what
specific resource was having an issue. Right now there is no way to tell if one
or more resources is having an issue.

Could you please indicate which resource is having an issue in the error
message?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Always shows up in my log files

Expected Results:
Would like to see something like the following:

ItemRetrieverException : Unable to contact resource (Gmail Contacts)

I'm not sure how the resources are named. Be happy to chat

[Bug 259036] New: Kontact crash when accessing contacts

2010-12-06 Thread tbohaning
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=259036

Summary: Kontact crash when accessing contacts
   Product: kontact
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: tbohan...@gmail.com

Application: kontact (4.4.7)
KDE Platform Version: 4.5.80 (4.6 Beta1)
Qt Version: 4.7.0
Operating System: Linux 2.6.35-23-generic x86_64
Distribution: Ubuntu 10.10

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

There seem to be a couple of related issues. First, the displayed contact show
as either do48VRSwQe.vcf or as do48VRSwQe, with the names of the files being
broadly different. When I try to view the contents of the displayed records
Kontact will crash every time. I'm not sure if this is due to the initial
record load not completing properly or something else.

The software was added to my machine from the Ubuntu Beta PPA. Everything was
working properly prior to the install of the beta 1 code.

What additional information would you like to have?

The crash can be reproduced every time.

[Bug 257389] New: Right click on folder list causes change to new folder

2010-11-19 Thread tbohaning
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=257389

Summary: Right click on folder list causes change to new folder
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.13.5
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: folder list
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: tbohan...@gmail.com

Version: 1.13.5 (using KDE 4.5.3)
OS:Linux

If I right click on a folder in the folder list, then I'd like the menu to pop
up without changing to that folder. This would allow me to create a new
subfolder without changing out of my current folder.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1) right click on inbox to make it the active folder

Now I want to create a subfolder in the trash folder.

2) right click on the trash folder.
.

Actual Results:
Problem is displayed as the trash folder becomes the active folder.

Expected Results:
I should have been able to select an action from the popup menu. Specifically
the function "New SubFolder".
