[kmail2] [Bug 318432] address-field: cursor always jumps to end of the field after edit
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=318432 --- Comment #5 from w...@obsidian-studios.com --- Pretty odd to close a older bug in favor of a new duplicate. Usually you mark the newer bugs as duplicate of an older one, not vice versa. Just shows who ever filed the new one did not look to see if one existed before filing a new one. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
[kmail2] [Bug 318597] Autocomplete puts cursor at the end of the completed email making typing emails in difficult
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=318597 w...@obsidian-studios.com changed: What|Removed |Added CC||w...@obsidian-studios.com --- Comment #4 from w...@obsidian-studios.com --- This is really not the same as 318432 if you read. They are having issues with auto completion, and also the cursor moving. The other bug is about editing existing emails already typed, NOTHING to do with auto completion. Granted the cursor moving could be due to auto completion, but that is NOT what is in bug 318432. Its similar, but NOT an exact duplicate. The problem in 318432 is if you have an email addressed already typed, and you go to correct that, remove the name, etc. after ever character entered the cursor jumps to the end. Thus its similar to the issue described initially in this bug, but they are NOT the same, might be related, but NOT duplicate bugs. Seems someone rather close bugs as duplicates than see they are resolved. Seems this issue effects 2 different things, auto completion as mentioned in this bug, and editing emails already typed as in bug 318432. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
[kmail2] [Bug 318432] address-field: cursor always jumps to end of the field after edit
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=318432 --- Comment #6 from w...@obsidian-studios.com --- This bug needs to be REOPENED, it is NOT a duplicate of bug 318597 which mentions issues with AUTO COMPLETION, not cursor moving when trying to correct an already typed email address. This issue has NOTHING to do with auto completion. You can have an empty address book, and when you type an email, if you need to correct it, you will have issues with the cursor moving. Clearly someone did not read the issue or pay much attention to detail as to the problems being described in each bug. There might be similarities, but issues are quite different and this bug is NOT a duplicate of that one! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=318432 w...@obsidian-studios.com changed: What|Removed |Added CC||w...@obsidian-studios.com --- Comment #2 from w...@obsidian-studios.com --- I am running Kmail 4.10.2 on Gentoo and its doing this very annoying. Try to modify or edit an address and it keeps moving the cursor to after the last letter, so I have to keep moving it back with every key stroke, extremely annoying. Google does crap that like to, really need to chill out with moving things around automatically. In theory it helps, in reality its very annoying and becomes more of a problem than solution. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
[kmail2] [Bug 313702] Lost all emails in a folder
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=313702 --- Comment #2 from w...@obsidian-studios.com --- They were local folders on my local disk, ~/.local/share/.local-mail.directory/. Turns out to be an issue with backends, sqlite, which should not have been used. It was set to the default on Gentoo and seems to have caused all of my issues. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=313697 Bug ID: 313697 Summary: kmail is screwing up new emails Classification: Unclassified Product: kmail2 Version: 4.9.5 Platform: Gentoo Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: critical Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Reporter: w...@obsidian-studios.com I have been dealing with this for some time across many versions. Not sure if its an Akanodi issue or kmail2. I think its more a backend than front end issue. For some reason emails are getting munged/messed up bad. Some the entire body is missing. Here is a couple that the body remains, but the subject, and other information is missing. This is REALLY annoying and I have lost MANY email due to this. I must say kmail is one of the WORST email clients I have ever used. I can't even get auto completion to work from my contact list. Stupid semantic desktop, always has problems indexing my massive amount of emails. Not to mention keeps my system hot and wasting electricity all the time. I can move or send it to the trash. Then empty the trash, and it appears to be gone. Trash emptied or not, if I update that folder and/or close and re-open kmail the email shows up again. The file is never deleted/removed even when the trash is emptied. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Move one or more emails to trash via button, right click, or delete button. Empty trash. Update folder or close and re-open kmail. Actual Results: Email re-appears in the folder it was deleted/moved to trash from. Expected Results: Email/file is deleted and does not re-appear when removed from trash. This does not occur when moving emails to other folders. Just when ever I try to delete an email it remains. Only way thus far is to move to a folder and delete that folder. Recent convert from Gnome and Evolution, started with 4.7.1, and not sure if the problem existed in that version or not. But I can move one or more emails from any folder to another and there is no problem there. Also I can go into the akonadi console, find the item in the browswer, right click and delete it that way. It does remove the file, and seems the problem is not so much with akonadi or deleting in general. Just how ever Kmail is communicating with akonadi or something along those lines.
