Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this version of Kmail has been
unmaintained for many years so I am closing this bug. Please try using the
latest version of Kmail to see if your issue persists. If it does, please
submit a new bug in "kmail2". Thank you!

I can't reproduce this bug using trunk r948809. However if this is related to
mailbox size I can't check it because I currently don't have any imap folder
that big.

Can you still see the CPU usage going up on a recent release (eg. KDE 4.2.x)?
