I think I might have the same problem.

Every time, when I start composing a new mail. Just after typing few characters
kmail crushes. (within Kontakt, but also standalone).
My System:
Linux 3.1.9-1.4-desktop x86_64
System:  openSUSE 12.1 (x86_64)
KDE:  4.8.1 (4.8.1) "release 481"
