Bug ID: 302378 Severity: wishlist Version: 4.8.3 Priority: NOR Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Summary: KMail produces a useless notification when an email is successfully sent Classification: Unclassified OS: Linux Reporter: alex.wauck+kdeb...@gmail.com Hardware: Ubuntu Packages Status: UNCONFIRMED Component: UI Product: kmail2 The default is for KMail to produce a notification message when an email is successfully sent. I would argue that this is a bad default, since when the average person clicks "Send", they expect that the email will be sent. There is no need to notify the user in this manner upon success. If this is the default because it can sometimes take a while for messages to be sent, then the notification should be suppressed if the message is successfully sent within a certain amount of time (suggestion: 5 seconds). Take care that entering GPG or mail server passwords does not count toward this time limit. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Send an email. 2. Wait for notification to pop up in desktop's notification area Actual Results: Notification pops up. Expected Results: Nothing -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. _______________________________________________ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
