Bug ID: 449239 Summary: kmail treats background color of plaintext emails as html mail background Product: kontact Version: 5.19.1 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: mail Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Reporter: mathias.hom...@opensuse.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY *** NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols. See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. configure kmails color settings as follows: [x] Eigene farben benutzen (use own colors) [X] Farbe der ursprünglichen HTML mail nicht ändern (don't change colors in html mails) 2. open a plaintext email OBSERVED RESULT The text is colord according to the customized colors but the background of a PLAINTEXT email is switched to white, making the whole mess unreadable in my case. EXPECTED RESULT I would expect kmail to change all colors, including the background, if the mail is plaintext only. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20220125 KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.90.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 Kernel Version: 5.16.1-1-default (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 8 × 11th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-1185G7 @ 3.00GHz Memory: 15.3 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® Xe Graphics ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The problem here is using a Plasma-wide dark color scheme - you HAVE to have kmail adjust the colors, or mails will be unreadable. but there seems to be no working combination of these two options that works equally well with plaintext- and html emails. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
