With linux- image-3.16.0-25-generic, everything works fine. With linux- image-3.16.0-28-generic, if I boot with an external keyboard attached, the keyboard generates keypress events only until I close my laptop lid. After closing the lid, presses on the USB keyboard generate no events. This state of affairs persists even after opening the laptop lid again. The problem appears to be in the kernel somewhere. Booting with the previous kernel using the GRUB menu option restores correct behavior. Switching to a non-X VT and using evtest indicates that no events are being delivered to userland. dmesg doesn't report any unusual messages across lid close and reopen. Repro: 1) Boot with laptop lid open and external USB keyboard attached 2) Log into X 3) Type using external keyboard: note that keypresses are received 4) Close laptop lid (using external monitor) 5) Type on external keyboard: does nothing 6) Open laptop lid 7) Type on external keyboard: does nothing Here is the requested metadata. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1387949] Re: power cycling Emerson EM229 headset caused phone to reboot
Oh, um, this was on krillin rtm 176. Linux ubuntu-phablet 3.4.67 #1 SMP PREEMPT Tue Dec 9 16:37:17 UTC 2014 armv7l armv7l armv7l GNU/Linux -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to bluez in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1387949 Title: power cycling Emerson EM229 headset caused phone to reboot Status in bluez package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: While sanity testing krillin rtm image 139, I paired a bluetooth headset. I made a call with it, hung up, then turned the headset off. I noticed this caused the BT indicator icon to invert, which is a nice way to indicate whether something is connected. So, I turned the device back on, waited for the icon to invert, turned the device off, waited, and instead of inverting the icon... the phone rebooted. Not sure what exactly failed here, like which component, but it's definitely not good when a paired headset can cause the phone to spontaneously reboot. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 24776] [NEW] ipw2100 - Fatal interrupt. Scheduling firmware restart.
You have been subscribed to a public bug: / ATTENTION I believe this issue is specific to the error that a chipset that is not 802.11G capable will return when it picks up an a beacon from a router that is not mixed-mode, but 802.11G specific. Please verify. Remove mixed-mode from your G routers, and see if you can get this repeated. Then add back mix mode and see if it goes away and if you're connected with 802.11B. / [ Current Status ] The ipw2100 driver was last updated on 2007-01-31. That tarball release contained an issues file that described this particular bug: Firmware restart is detected randomly -- After running one or two days, Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 Network Connection driver will only occasionally restart the firmware. ipw2100: Fatal interrupt. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1387949] Re: power cycling Emerson EM229 headset caused phone to reboot
Nice, thanks for the trace, it should hopefully be enough to indicate the problem (which is clearly in the krillin bluetooth driver). ** Also affects: canonical-devices-system-image Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: bluez (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium = High -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to bluez in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1387949 Title: power cycling Emerson EM229 headset caused phone to reboot Status in the base for Ubuntu mobile products: New Status in bluez package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: While sanity testing krillin rtm image 139, I paired a bluetooth headset. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1401741] [NEW] rtl8188ee wireless driver high packet loss
Public bug reported: I've seen this issue since trusty, very bad packet loss, varrying in ping from 10%-45% to the gatewway. This is a toshiba c55d laptop. Already tried mainline (3.18.0) with no noticable improvement. Previously reported here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1258870 AP is a MI424WR-GEN3I from Verizon with WPA2 running in Compatibility Mode(802.11b/g/n) No other devices on network have ever had this issue, in fact any loss of ICMP packets almost never occurs on other devices from same location. I will be trying the Realtek (from their website) and https://github.com/FreedomBen/rtl8188ce-linux-driver next. Any other ideas/suggestions welcome. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1275879] Re: Kernel panic
Err, I accidently set this to Fix Released trying to click to see if there was any information about if that meant Fix Released in the archives or Fix Released in a 14.04.N patch and now it won't let me change it back. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Utopic) Status: Fix Committed = Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1275879 Title: Kernel panic Status in linux package in Ubuntu: In Progress Status in linux source package in Trusty: Fix Committed Status in linux source package in Utopic: Fix Released Status in linux source package in Vivid: In Progress Bug description: SRU Justification Impact: Under certain workloads a BUG in the xen-netfront driver is getting triggered. Fix: Remove the offending BUG, and a related BUG which would have also been triggered by the same conditions. Test Case: This bug has only been seen under certain workloads involving haproxy and has proved challenging to reproduce. The fix has been verified by an affected user, with the BUG replaced by a WARN to ensure that the conditions which would have triggered the bug were actually encountered. Regression Potential: The fix has been verified and acked upstream. Removing the BUGs will not affect cases which were not crashing previously, and cases which were crashing can't really be made much worse. --- I run ubuntu servers 13.04, 13.10, and 14.04 on the AWS cloud. Whenever I install haproxy and nginx on the same server, after hitting it for a while, a kernel panic is caused. However, the kernel panic does not show up in ubuntu 12.04. The kernel panic is pasted at the end of the attachment. Here's how it happens: - I insert a 2 GB SanDisk SD card into my laptop's built-in card reader - It appears a sa NEW VOLUME item on the GNOME desktop - I click the item and see the files on the card - With dragging-and-dropping, I start copying a few 30 MB files to the card - In the middle of copying process I get the message baloon at the bottom right saying that device was unplugged, and that's a bad thing to do. That I should use safe removal insted. BUT: I did not touch the card. So, what I do is copying files one by one, unmounting the card after each file, and mounting it back. Then, eventuallly, I manage to really transfer the files to the card. However, often this also does not work. A file does not appear on the card after the safe removal. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1401439] Re: Could not resume after suspend. Always shows mei_me error.
I'm using Xubuntu 14.04 as my default OS in work and I'm afraid of loosing my personal data while trying new kernel. If my laptop crashes, I will not have enough time to rebuild it. And also I do not know how to reproduce it, it happened yesterday again but it is not dependent on anything (of course it is, but the dependencies of the problem are not observable for me). It is happening randomly for me. Is there anything I can help whit this? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1401439 Title: Could not resume after suspend. After suspending, trying to resume, but can not reach desktop. There is only mei_me errors (attached picture as mei_me_image), and the time stamp on the left always increasing.
