No other tools is doing so. Hence if we try to change frequency policies with any tool, the scaling_min_freq still remains unchanged. 2) On installing cpufreqd, a init script /etc/init.d/cpufreqd is added , which will over-ride the default governor set by kernel ( which is ondemand) You right the scaling_min_freq is being written by init scripts /etc/init.d/cpufreqd , which loads the cpufreqd (daemon) based on the configuration file ( /et
[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1559576] Re: Ubuntu GNOME boots to black screen when using proprietary Nvidia drivers on a laptop with Optimus
Any progress on this issue? It has rendered my Alienware Alpha Ubuntu GNOME installation unusable, and I have to use Noveau now which is not acceptable for OpenCL apps. Any help? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1559576 Title: Ubuntu GNOME boots to black screen when using proprietary Nvidia drivers on a laptop with Optimus Status in gdm: Confirmed Status in Ubuntu GNOME: Triaged Status in gdm3 package in Ubuntu: Triaged Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in gdm3 source package in Xenial: Triaged Status in linux source package in Xenial: Invalid Bug description: Using latest Ubuntu Gnome x64 daily build with all updates installed. When I hotplug the monitor to my laptop and try to play audio through "HDMI" the audio plays at what seems to be half speed. The source of the audio does not matter (local audio/video, internet audio/video stream etc) but if the laptop is rebooted with the monitor connected, the problem does not manifest. Playing audio through the internet laptop speakers with any setup seems to work fine, as does playing audio through the laptop headphone jack. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1531865] Re: 4.2 (linux-generic-lts-wily) kernel hangs on Bay Trail based Asus X553MA
A lot of mini pc,tablet x86 and netbooks 2 in 1 have this problem -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1531865 Title: 4.2 (linux-generic-lts-wily) kernel hangs on Bay Trail based Asus X553MA Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Triaged Status in linux package in Debian: New Bug description: Kernels since 4.2-rc1 contain: [8fb55197e64d5988ec57b54e973daeea72c3f2ff] drm/i915: Agressive downclocking on Baytrail which causes hangs on my Bay Trail based Asus X553MA and likely on other Bay Trail based machines as well. The hangs occur between minutes and hours after booting and there is no information found related to them in kernel message buffer. I found the above commit by doing bisection between 4.1.0 and 4.2-rc1 and reported it to intel-gfx mailing list: http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/intel- gfx/2016-January/084203.html I tested that these hangs occur with 14.04 LTS using latest linux-generic-lts-wily (4.2.0-23-generic) kernel exactly as with any kernel beginning from 4.2-rc1 up to 4.4-rc8. I'm now writing this bug report running 4.4-rc8 with patches from the above commit removed because 4.2.0-23-generic just hanged while I was trying to send report. --- ApportVersion: 2.14.1-0ubuntu3.19 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USERPID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC0: jamse 2144 F pulseaudio CurrentDesktop: Unity CurrentDmesg: [ 20.017300] init: plymouth-upstart-bridge main process (1462) terminated with status 1 [ 20.017332] init: plymouth-upstart-bridge main process ended, respawning DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04 EcryptfsInUse: Yes InstallationDate: Installed on 2014-11-17 (415 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS "Trusty Tahr" - Release amd64 (20140722.2) Lsusb: Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub Bus 001 Device 004: ID 04ca:3010 Lite-On Technology Corp. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1566302] Re: Ubuntu 16.04: Suspend freezes the system after upgrade to linux image 4.4.0-16
Acer TM (TravelMate) B117M N3150 processor using SSD (manufactured on Jully-2016) Lubuntu 14.04 LTS + LTSEnablementStack (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/LTSEnablementStack) We have about 110 units of this model. Some of them are freezing using them and after suspend. We migrated some machines to latest stable kernel (4.8.10). Computers are more stable. (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1575467/comments/142) but... they continue to freeze after suspend. Modifing /etc/default/grub as suggested at comment #140 seems to solve the freezing after suspend. @old-man999-r, thanks for your test at #146. I didn't know them. Suspend/resume worked flawlessly with linux image 4.4.0-15, and after standard upgrade yesterday (5/04/2016) which installed image 4.4.0-16, the system freezes when attempting a suspend. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1620636] Re: Fails to pair with Bose QC35 headphones
Following the instructions here: http://askubuntu.com/questions/833322 /pair-bose-quietcomfort-35-with-ubuntu-16-04-over-bluetooth I managed to make it pair and appear as an audio device. While playback technically worked, it wasn't useable as it came across as though there wasn't enough bandwidth - the audio was choppy and got delayed. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1641049] Re: NFSv4 do not invalidate cached information about deleted files
We are testing this with different kernel versions right now. I would like to report that NFSv3 workaround does not work with symlinks (the bug still appears), but seems to work with regular files. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1641049 Title: NFSv4 do not invalidate cached information about deleted files Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: When using NFSv4 client in Ubuntu 16.04 the the following sequence of actions fails. You need a NFS server (S) and two clients (A and B). Let the NFS share be mounted at /nfsdata A: echo test > /nfsdata/file B: cat /nfsdata/file ===> test A: rm /nfsdata/file B: cat /nfsdata/file ===> cat: No such file or directory A: echo test > /nfsdata/file B: cat /nfsdata/file ===> cat: No such file or directory (!) Doing echo 3 > proc/sys/vm/drop_caches as root makes the file visible on B. 14.04 works without any problem. I have attached log from one of our servers, 4.4.0-47 kernel does not fix this issue. Syslog contains rpcdebug -m nfs -s all output for the scenario (with different filenames). I can do full packet capture of NFS traffic if you want. Mounting nfs with lookupcache=positive do not fix this issue. NFSv4 server is CentOS 6.7 in our case.
