[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1670356] Re: i2c-hid and hid-multitouch drivers wake computer during suspend
IIUC, the laptop wakes up because the screen somehow touched the touchpad when lid closed, right? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1670356 Title: i2c-hid and hid-multitouch drivers wake computer during suspend Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Using the latest 16.04 LTS (Ubuntu 4.4.0-64.85-generic 4.4.44), my Dell Inspiron 7548 wakes everytime the Elan touchpad registers a touch. This causes the machine to wake when the lid is closed, and renders the suspend/hibernate function useless. The only way in which the suspend doesn't respond to the touchpad is if the touchpad is manipulated *during* the suspend process. This is true when removing the drivers or unbinding the hardware in /etc/pm/sleep.d; removing or unbinding will still cause the laptop to wake from sleep unless the touchpad has been touched between removing the driver and suspending the laptop. Disabling everything in /proc/acpi/wakeup has no effect on the issue. I'd say nvidia driver is somewhat necessary for new cards, this can be done by $ sudo apt install nvidia-367 Reboot and test if suspend works. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1669620 Title: Reboot when resume from suspend Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: When I resume my computer from suspend2ram, after about 2 seconds it shutdowns and after about 3 seconds swithces on, and system starts to boot from GRUB as it was poweroff. But if I resume my computer right away after it was suspended, it resumes properly. I occur this problem if some amount of time passed between suspend and resume. And I didn't reproduce this problem when lightdm was stopped (but the screen is black after resume, but I can login via SSH). Fix: Single follow-up upstream cherry pick which fixes the problem. Regression Potential: The patch has been upstream since 4.8, so it should be well-tested at this point. Thus regressions are unlikely. --- The fix for https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1649718 cherry- picked three commits from upstream 4.6 related to RTC interrupt handling. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1518816] Re: xhci: Workaround to get Intel xHCI reset working more reliably
** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Trusty) Status: Fix Committed => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1518816 Title: xhci: Workaround to get Intel xHCI reset working more reliably Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Triaged Status in linux source package in Trusty: Fix Released Status in linux source package in Vivid: Fix Committed Status in linux source package in Wily: Fix Committed Bug description: SRU Justification: On all of Intel's shipping xHCI platforms, including both servers and clients, the controller can cause the shutdown process to hang. This is because existing Intel xHCI controllers require a delay of 1 mS,after setting the CMD_RESET bit in command register, before accessing any HC registers. This allows the HC to complete the reset operation and be ready for HC register access. Fix: Patch in 4.4-rc2 commit a5964396190d0c40dd549c23848c282fffa5d1f2 Author: Rajmohan Mani Date: Wed Nov 18 10:48:20 2015 +0200 xhci: Workaround to get Intel xHCI reset working more reliably Regression Potential: Just add a 1ms delay for xhci_reset, so regressions are very unlikely. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1671515] Re: Wrong checksum in launchpad for linux 3.13.0-110.157
Strange, yes, if I do a wget it matches. Thanks. Sorry for the trouble. I suspect downloading via chrome resulted in the gzip being expanded automatically by chrome, thereby resulting a wrong checksum. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1671515 Title: Wrong checksum in launchpad for linux 3.13.0-110.157 Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Pre: I asked a question about this in askubuntu.com, but I realize that this could (although not very likely), be a security problem. So I'm opening a bug here so that in case it is a security issue, it gets addressed. Here is the problem: I downloaded the source files for the package 'linux' from launchpad, and found that the size of one of the files is much larger than stated on the launchpad page. (The checksum also mismatches) Launchpad URL: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/3.13.0-110.157 This is what I got when I downloaded the file (I tried multiple times, but it was the same): 3c7c8664e000c47fd27ce08cd7f869b5012d94ce8fffaf8a4100354914855912 *linux_3.13.0-110.157.diff.gz Size: 39 MB. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1647936] Re: Raspberry Pi 3: a small rainbow square on the top right of screen
Oliver, who is responsible for promoting the gadget snap to stable channel? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1647936 Title: Raspberry Pi 3: a small rainbow square on the top right of screen Status in Snappy: Fix Committed Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: I'm working on the WD/nextcloud project, and found this issue Download the UC16 for Raspberry Pi 3 from http://releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-core/16/ubuntu-core-16-pi3.img.xz unxz , dd the image to sd card and boot up the system. There is a small rainbow square on top right of HDMI monitor. From RPI forum: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=82373 If the voltage is under 4.65V, firmware displays a rainbow square on top right of screen and power LED goes off. But for UC16 the rainbow square is always there even the voltage is sufficient, but the power LED works properly. So I also check 1. Ubuntu server for RPI3 from here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ARM/RaspberryPi This RPI3 image works properly (if the voltage is not sufficient, rainbow square shows on the top right of screen, if it's sufficient, no rainbow square shows up) 2. Rasbian (jessie lite): https://downloads.raspberrypi.org/raspbian_lite_latest This works properly too, and the official Rasbian was released with the latest firmware, so the rainbow square changes to a lighting icon It looks the firmware might be old in UC16? so the under-voltage warning doesn't display correctly. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 669311] [Review update] master
Review in progress for https://review.opencontrail.org/29475 Submitter: Nikhil Bansal (nikh...@juniper.net) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to bcmwl in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/669311 Title: package bcmwl-kernel-source 5.60.48.36 bdcom-0ubuntu3 failed to install/upgrade: bcmwl kernel module failed to build Status in Juniper Openstack: In Progress Status in Juniper Openstack trunk series: In Progress Status in bcmwl package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: I have an Acer 5820T laptop and am trying to get internet connections working both Wifi and Ethernet. I have set up the computer as dual boot Lucid 10.04 and Windows 7. I should note that I had to send back the laptop to Acer THREE (3) times to replace the hard drive. On the 3rd replacement, Acer updated BIOS to 1.18. I have been following the fixes on the various forums. The only way I could get the ethernet to work was to install the 2.6.35-7 kernel. So, I now have ethernet working (Atheros AR8151 AtherosPCI-E) I tried other fixes suggested but this is the only one that would work. Next I tried to update the Broadcom 802.1 Drivers using Administration-Hardware Drivers. But I get the error that it is not compatible with the 2.6.35 Kernel hence the bug report.
