I've added the file where kernel saved crash details,
/sys/class/drm/card0/error.
This is my first bug report, so if more infos are needed, please tell me how to
do, i mean, if there is a script or i have to do it manually.
Thanks.

2015-11-07 Thread AntonioDiMartino
With new kernel 4.2.0-17-generic installed this evening, the problem still
persists.
It appears randomly however, but when it does it is rather annoying.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1514198] [NEW] Gpu hung on i915.

2015-11-08 Thread AntonioDiMartino
Public bug reported:

Hello,
my gpu, an old GMA945 on i915, randomly crashes.
This is an extract of the kernel log reporting the crash.
I have to admit, to be precise, that this defect has been occuring just after
upgrading to 15.10 and kernel 4.x; before of that, with ubuntu 15.04, it never
occurred.
Thanks.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1514198] Re: Gpu hung on i915.

2015-11-09 Thread AntonioDiMartino
Sorry for late replying.

Manufacturer: Packard Bell.
Product: Packard Bell Dot-S. it/10, model number KAV 60.

You maybe puzzled reading that Bios manufacturer is ACER but, that is, the
machine is actually an Acer AOD250 rebranded.
I upgraded the bios to the versions released by Acer (PB never released
upgrades) and they have been working flawlessy since...4-5 years. Furthermore,
bios by Acer has exactly the model number of my machine, KAV60.
Thanks for your time.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1514198] Re: Gpu hung on i915.

2015-11-09 Thread AntonioDiMartino
Hello Cristopher,
unfortunately this machine is very precious to me in this period, as i am busy
with exams at university, so the last thing i want is an unstable computer.
In January i will be more free for testing, but till then it's impossible for
me doing tests.
Sorry for not being useful.
