[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1868189] Re: Low memory situations result in root partition being remounted read-only

2023-05-18 Thread Avamander
@timmins
Because things like that only occurred during OOM conditions and never any time
else. Including never during much higher I/O loads. I'm also quite certain it
wasn't limited to sdb, but I haven't let such an OOM condition occur in a long
while, this being one of the reasons.

2020-05-17 Thread Avamander
I'm still encountering this once a month or so. It's really awful.

How do I make sure that the kernel **always** has enough memory for
buffers and drivers?

It is absolutely inane that a chrome tab can ever cause filesystem
corruption.

** Also affects: linux
   Importance: Undecided
   Status: New

** Project changed: linux => cryptsetup

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1868189] Re: Low memory situations result in root partition being remounted read-only

2020-03-25 Thread Avamander
I can't run this command because permanent logging stops and temporary
logging is flooded by systemd.

** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu)

Title:
Low memory situations result in root partition being remounted read-

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Instead of killing something with a high niceness low memory
situations seem to hang something super-ultra-so-very vital, writes

systemd-journald starts stupidly spamming and earlier logs are
  rendered unusable.

I'd post more logs but https://github.com/systemd/systemd/issues/2339

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1856539] Re: wireguard package doesn't work on ubuntu eon

2020-02-18 Thread Avamander
Mine says `wireguard, 0.0.20190913: added`, but updating failed and I
suspect it's going to stop working after a reboot.

I'd upload logs with apport but it doesn't let me.

Please try the package @hui.wang posted and upload the asked alsa-

Title:
Updating to 19.04 audio keeps clicking when nothing is playing audio

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  My Ubuntu version: Ubuntu 19.04
My sound card: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller
(rev 02)

  What I expect to happen:
Sound is absolutely quiet when no audio is playing

  What happens now:
Audio output starts clicking every second incredibly annoyingly and loud.

What previously happened on Ubuntu 18.10:
I heard the click twice during boot and then it worked properly (without
clicking during the time it should have been silent)

Noise comes from both outputs.

The package did not resolve the bug.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1833793] Re: Updating to 19.04 audio keeps clicking when nothing is playing audio

2019-07-03 Thread Avamander
When the power save is not disabled then the noise comes from speaker
port, I don't have the headphone port connected anywhere so I can't
right now check that. Once
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kinit/+bug/1833880 happens
again I'll have to reboot and I can power down the machine and attach a
jack to it to check.
