[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1498355] [NEW] USB devices gratefully ignored

2015-09-22 Thread BeowulfOF
Public bug reported:

Since two days I encounter a problem when I attach USB-Devices
(Printer/Scanner/Android-Device) the device is not recognized, even
dmesg does not state anything about the USB-port. The only thing that
works is my USB-Keyboard, wich is already connected on startup.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1498355] Re: USB devices gratefully ignored

2015-09-22 Thread BeowulfOF
@Joseph, I can't really remember if there was a kernel upgrade shortly.
Sadly, my logs are only on tmpfs, so I can't even tell what upgrade
packages have been installed in the last days. I'll test out the
kernels, that are still installed, maybe 2-3 versions are still in grub
configured, to see if the problem exists on those as well.

2015-09-22 Thread BeowulfOF
@Joseph, I went back and tried my former versions of the kernel back to
3.19.0-26-generic. But I can't really get USB to work.

Connecting an android phone leaves traces in dmesg though:

Title:
Dell 1525 wakes up on opening the lid, but keyboard takes ages to
  react

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  What happens:
When the lid is closed, ubuntu gets into a sleep state.

When I open the lid, the system recovers from sleep, the display shows
the screensaver, but the keyboard does not react on any input. I'll
have to wait several minutes, bevore the keyboard accepts input and I
can log in again. Mouse works normal.

  What should happen:
When I open the lid, the system should recover normally and the keyboard
should accept input to let me log in.
