[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1275973] Re: Dell XPS 13 (haswell) touchscreen works only after suspend-wakeup cycle on BATTERY (no AC)

2014-05-18 Thread Gletscher
Totally amazing! Touch pad works beautifully, edge scrolling, two finger
scrolling, touch screen recognized straight after boot! You are my
personal hero of the day, thank you very much!

What I noticed with the touchpad is that the cursor seems too lag behind
the finger a little bit, e.g. once the finger stops the cursor is still
moving a bit to catch up ..

Title:
Dell XPS 13 (haswell) touchscreen works only after suspend-wakeup
  cycle on BATTERY (no AC)

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
The touchscreen (ID 06cb:0af8 Synaptics, Inc. ) on the Dell XPS 13
only works after the computer has been:

  1. Unplugged from AC so it runs on battery
  2. Suspended to Ram
  3. Woken up from Ram

it will only work on battery, if plugged into AC the touch screen will
not work even after the suspend-wakeup cycle.

On login I get the notice that no touchpad has been found and I cannot
find and configure a touchpad in the settings (for multitouch,
scrolling etc), is the touchscreen and touchpad the same device as far
  as the OS is concerned?

I'm happy to verify, what is the correct way to install all the patchs,
download each one or add it to apt?

Title:
Dell XPS 13 (haswell) touchscreen worked briefly on saucy, kernel
  update broke it

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
The touchscreen (ID 06cb:0af8 Synaptics, Inc. ) on the Dell XPS 13
only works after the computer has been suspended and then resumed. On
login I get the notice that no touchpad has been found and I cannot
find and configure a touchpad in the settings (for multitouch,
scrolling etc), is the touchscreen and touchpad the same device as far
  as the OS is concerned?

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1275973] Re: Dell XPS 13 (haswell) touchscreen worked briefly on saucy, kernel update broke it

2014-02-05 Thread Gletscher
apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected

** Description changed:

The touchscreen (ID 06cb:0af8 Synaptics, Inc. ) on the Dell XPS 13
didn't used to work in saucy. One day someone touched my screen and the
cursor moved, some magical kernel update must have fixed it. A couple
kernel updates later it is broken again. It's quite possible that the
kernel updates had nothing to do with it, all I know is that it used to
work 2 weeks ago and now it is not responding to input ...

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1275973] WifiSyslog.txt

apport information

** Attachment added: "WifiSyslog.txt"

https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1275973/+attachment/3970097/+files/WifiSyslog.txt

** Description changed:

- The touchscreen (ID 06cb:0af8 Synaptics, Inc. ) on the Dell XPS 13
- didn't used to work in saucy. One day someone touched my screen and the
- cursor moved, some magical kernel update must have fixed it. A couple
- kernel updates later it is broken again. It's quite possible that the
- kernel updates had nothing to do with it, all I know is that it used to
- work 2 weeks ago and now it is not responding to input ...
+ The touchscreen (ID 06cb:0af8 Synaptics, Inc. ) on the Dell XPS 13 only
+ works after the computer has been suspended and then resumed. On login I
+ get the notice that no touchpad has been found and I cannot find and
+ configure a touchpad in the settings (for multitouch, scrolling etc), is
+ the touchscreen and touchpad the same device as far as the OS is
+ concerned?

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1275973] [NEW] Dell XPS 13 (haswell) touchscreen worked briefly on saucy, kernel update broke it

2014-02-03 Thread Gletscher
Public bug reported:

The touchscreen (ID 06cb:0af8 Synaptics, Inc. ) on the Dell XPS 13
didn't used to work in saucy. One day someone touched my screen and the
cursor moved, some magical kernel update must have fixed it. A couple
kernel updates later it is broken again. It's quite possible that the
kernel updates had nothing to do with it, all I know is that it used to
work 2 weeks ago and now it is not responding to input ...

Ubuntu 3.11.0-15.25-generic 3.11.10

** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

** Attachment added: "lspci-vnvn.log"
