[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1766857] Re: [Hyper-V] KVP daemon fails to start
** Information type changed from Public to Public Security -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux-azure in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1766857 Title: [Hyper-V] KVP daemon fails to start Status in linux package in Ubuntu: In Progress Status in linux-azure package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in linux source package in Bionic: In Progress Status in linux-azure source package in Bionic: Invalid Bug description: While testing Bionic daily build with kernel 4.15.0-20-generic we saw that there are 2 issues with the KVP daemon: 1. KVP daemon crashes after approximatively 2 minutes of uptime and it enters in a failed state. The daemon can be manually started and it enters back in active (running) state. The error messages from /var/log/syslog after the daemon enters the failed state are the following: Apr 25 04:28:46 bionicDaily KVP: read failed; error:9 Bad file descriptor Apr 25 04:28:46 bionicDaily systemd[1]: hv-kvp-daemon.service: Main process exited, code=exited, status=1/FAILURE Apr 25 04:28:46 bionicDaily systemd[1]: hv-kvp-daemon.service: Failed with result 'exit-code'. Apr 25 04:28:59 bionicDaily systemd[1]: Started Hyper-V KVP Protocol Daemon. Note: There was a simmilar issue discussed on this thread https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1664663, but the fixing commit seems to be inclued in this Bionic build. 2. After the KVP daemon is being started the following messages appear: Apr 25 04:45:25 bionicDaily hv_kvp_daemon[1895]: sh: 1: /usr/libexec/hypervkvpd/hv_get_dns_info: not found Apr 25 04:45:25 bionicDaily hv_kvp_daemon[1895]: sh: 1: /usr/libexec/hypervkvpd/hv_get_dhcp_info: not found The above binaries are present on the system, but the their actual path is /usr/sbin/hv_get_dns_info and /usr/sbin/hv_get_dhcp_info. Either the hv_get_dhcp_info and hv_get_dns_info binaries should be placed in the location where the daemon is looking for (/usr/libexec/hypervkvpd/), or the daemon should be set to search for the binaries in the /usr/sbin directory. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1775443 Title: Ubuntu 18.04 Bluetooth Crash Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I am having trouble with the bluetooth connection between the laptop and my Logitech MX Master wireless mouse. The computer will lose connection with the mouse multiple times per day. When this happens, the bluetooth icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen disappears. Checking the Bluetooth system preference panel, Bluetooth is turned off. I can toggle the switch to "on" but bluetooth remains off. Neither restarting the computer nor power cycling the computer bring bluetooth back. $ sudo service bluetooth restart also doesn't work. The only way I have found to renable bluetooth is: 1. reboot 2. disable bluetooth in BIOS 3. reboot 4. enable bluetooth in BIOS 5. reboot Also, I was running Ubuntu 16.04 until this past Friday. I experienced this problem under 16.04 but it happened much less frequently (once every couple weeks or so). I upgraded to 18.04 ahead of 18.04.1 in hopes that a newer kernel/driver would work better with my brand new hardware. Now, under 18.04, bluetooth is crashing multiple times per day. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1502155] Re: [20AQ0069GE, Realtek ALC3232, Speaker, Internal] crackling sound while booting Unity-Desktop
This solved the issue for me: https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2338349 Basically, what I did was Start alsamixer with this command: alsamixer -c1 And then: 1. Navigate to the Loopback channel rightmost with arrow-key 2. Disable the Channel by pressing the arrow-down-key once 3. Save and quit the alsamixer with ESC Reboot. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1502155 Title: [20AQ0069GE, Realtek ALC3232, Speaker, Internal] crackling sound while booting Unity-Desktop Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: Machine is an T440s. Todays Daily Build of Ubuntu Unity, but was also on Ubuntu 15.10 Beta While booting into Desktop a crackling sound appears (like connect speakers or headphones to a music player if not muted) and it sounds very unhealthy to the speakers. When using Debian Testing I have the issue while booting. With Fedora 23 Beta its also the same while booting. Always this unhealthy sounding crackling noise and then working normal after booting is finished. Muting is working, volume selecting is working without any issues, just while booting to Desktop there seems to be something not working properly while initializing internal speakers. On latest Ubuntu 14.04.3 there is no crackling while booting. Just booting normally into Desktop. You can hear that the speakers are initialized with a very silent plopping sound (as also in Debian Stable) but I think I start observing it just because of this crackling sound before. I was running Ubuntu 14.04.2 plus LTS Enabled Stack before and there were also no such issues. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1309578] Re: Ubuntu 14.04 suddenly reboots when booting from Live USB (AMD APU's)
I have the same problem. First time bootscreen told me about some problems with udev. Now he restarts before i can see the screen. Maybe a coincidence. Maybe it helps. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1309578 Title: Ubuntu 14.04 suddenly reboots when booting from Live USB (AMD APU's) Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I have a custom built AMD System with the following hardware currently running on Linux Mint 16 : AMD A8 6600k with Integrated graphics | MSI-FM2-A55M-E33 Motherboard | Kingston Hyperx Blu 4GB RAM | Corsair VS450 PSU Today when I tried to install 14.04 amd64 iso using a bootable USB, then the system rebooted. Any further attempts in installing it resulted in the same bug. As soon as I open the "Ubuntu installer" application and click "Continue" button then the system restarts after 2-3 seconds. I asked the same on AskUbuntu and some more guys reported the same problem with AMD APU, so I believe it to be a genuine bug and not just with me. The BIOS version is the latest one downloaded from MSI official website which is version 11.5. Also an Interesting thing is that this bug is common with the latest iso of Arch Linux too, but when booting older distros like Linux Mint 16 from USB, then everything works like it should, so it might have something to do with the newer 3.13 Kernel version. I am not an expert, but I can surely tell that only the newer distros are affected by this bug as reported by some other guys at AskUbuntu and the fact that Arch which is running the newer Kernel is having the same bug, so it probably has something to do with the newer Kernel, but I could be wrong. This bug is not letting me install Ubuntu 14.04 on my hardware and it is affecting a few more users too. Here is the AskUbuntu thread : http://askubuntu.com/questions/449391/unable-to-install-ubuntu-14-04 -pc-restarts-after-i-click-continue-button-in I hope this gets fixed soon or with the 14.04.1 upcoming July release. Hello again, Thanks for your response, can you please tell me what you mean with: ""After doing dnf update, you can remove few parameters to get "nouveau.modeset=0 acpi_osi=! acpi_backlight=native idle=nomwait " "" Were should put these parameters ? Do you mean modify a file or sth similar ? [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1520519] Re: ASUS ROG GL552 TouchPad not detected
Hello , Sorry on my latest message I said that the kernel 4.5rc4 didn't work, but it is working, I just forgot to change the grub and updated as indicated above: nouveau.modeset=0 acpi_osi=! acpi_backlight=native idle=nomwait Now the mouse pad is working, also the sound, and the wifi card can be fixed. I hope everything stay this way. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1520519] Re: ASUS ROG GL552 TouchPad not detected
Hello Guys, I also have exactly the same problem. I tryed using different linux distributions - ubuntu 14.04.3; sound is not working, mousepad neither, mouse crash from time to time, video card is not working propertly, it runs videos too fast and without audio eventhought I instaled -nVIDIA drivers. - ubuntu-mate.15.10 ; I can't even star ubuntu after installation. - fedora 23; This is the distributuion that looks working better than the others, the problem here stills the mouse pad detection. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1520519 Title: ASUS ROG GL552 TouchPad not detected Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Laptop Model : ASUS ROG GL552 DH71 First Appearance : Got laptop yesterday. dual booted with ubuntu 14.04.
