[Kernel-packages] [Bug 2036742] Re: amdgpu crash on Mantic

2023-10-16 Thread Kristijan Žic
Here’s an example of what happens when I start using Brave browser in
the attachment.

With X it crashes and then restarts the gdm and brings me to the login screen.
in any case it’s unusable as it crashes maybe 10 seconds into opening any app.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 2036742] Re: amdgpu crash on Mantic

2023-10-16 Thread Kristijan Žic
I think I have the same issue but I'm not sure. Please advise if I can
test anything and how?

GPU: AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 Liquid
CPU: AMD Threadripper 1900x
DS: Wayland

With the new installer:
The new installer crashes the entire session when it opens the “Connectivity”
screen.

---

Having installed the OS using the legacy installer:

About 10s to 30s into launching and using any app the screen freezes and
then the screen turns off and comes back to display colourful artifacts
while the screen is still frozen.

Here’s an example of what happens when I start using App Store in the
attachment.

  3) When I close the laptop's lid and open, the wifi should reconnect
  4) Wifi does not reconnect. It says "Wi-Fi networks" - "disconnected" when I
left-click on NM icon in notif area. However the context menu (right-click) has
items "Enable networking" and "Enable Wi-Fi" both with checkmarks.

  Workarounds:
switch off - on the physical switch on laptop OR two times go and select
"Enable networking" in the NM context menu (after first time it removes
checkmark and the "Enable Wi-Fi" item - visual feedback of being disabled).

  suspend not working after upgrade

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  Hi,

Upgraded from Ubuntu 15.10 where suspend workes flawlessly. After
upgrade, putting machine in suspend turns the monitor black and
everything seem to be off, though the fan still spins, the power light
is on and the battery is trained. Nothing seem to wake it up (Meaning
different key combinations - trying to get a shell by Ctrl+Alt+F1, for
example; pressing power, any other key).

Unsure how to try to get it working since I have to kill the power by
pressing down the power button, then restarting it (it then does a
  drive scan for errors).
