[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1295206] Re: [Lenovo Thinkpad X230] After suspending, bluetoothd 'Can't find device agent', will not pair with phone

2014-03-22 Thread Māris Fogels
Still using the old bios.

I just confirmed that I see the same error after a cold boot, too.
Bluetooth icon is there, Bluetooth Settings say bluetooth is ON, but the
phone still won't connect. Same error, "Can't find device agent"
appears in syslog.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1295206] Re: [Thinkpad X230] bluetoothd 'Can't find device agent', will not pair with phone

2014-03-21 Thread Māris Fogels
I've tried upstream kernel v3.14-rc7, as requested in comment 3. No
change. I'm still having issues trying to re-enable bluetooth and
reconnect to devices.

I installed Ubuntu 13.10 from scratch yesterday and I paired my phone + a

remains on "OFF" possition of course.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1295206] [NEW] [Thinkpad X230] bluetoothd 'Can't find device agent', will not pair with phone

2014-03-20 Thread Māris Fogels
Public bug reported:

Providing additional information in response to bug 1244764, "[ASUS
U31SD] ubuntu 13.10 bluetooth not working correctly".

Attempting to re-estabilish a bluetooth connection between my phone
(Nexus S) and my Thinkpad X230 laptop. The devices have been
successfully paired in the past. The connection is briefly established,
then drops.

Verified that the bluetooth radio is on. gnome-bluetooth-applet shows
one paired device (Nexus S): Bluethooth is 'ON', Device visibility is
'ON', Connection is 'OFF'.

Steps to reproduce the failure:

1. Resume laptop
2. syslog says that bluetoothd has failed to start: bluetooth-indicator is
missing. Workaround by restarting the bluetooth service with 'sudo service
bluetooth restart'. bluetooth-indicator re-appears.
3. Open Bluetooth Settings on laptop, select 'Nexus S' in Devices list
4. On Nexus S device, go to Settings -> Bluetooth -> Paired Devices, select
'ubuntu-0'.
5. Connection in laptop Bluetooth Settings panel briefly goes 'ON'
6. The following lines appear in syslog (bluetoothd debug logging is enabled) :

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1244764] Re: ubuntu 13.10 bluetooth not working correctly

2014-02-10 Thread Māris Fogels
In addition to comment #6, I also had to run the command "sudo service
bluetooth restart". After doing so the bluetooth indicator icon
reappeared and automatically re-paired with my devices.

  3, 4)
I installed Ubuntu 13.10 from scratch yesterday and I paired my phone + a
pair of speakers to the bluetooth of my ASUS U31S laptop. Today (after
recovering from sleep mode) I was unable to connect back to the speakers (I
haven't tried yet the phone.
I issued "sudo service bluetooth restart" and looked at /var/log/syslog:

The problem is, when I go to "System settings" and turn off the
bluetooth, the tray icon (I guess indicator-bluetooth-service)
dissapears and if I turn it back on the icon doesn't reappear. Also
when I try connecting to the speakers I see "bluetoothd[3644]:
connect: No route to host (113)" in /var/log/syslog and the button
remains on "OFF" possition of course.
