[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1813663] Re: External monitors does not work anymore 4.15.0-44
I'm hitting this bug too, using a Lenovo Thinkpad T470s (20HF0047IX); i'm using a docking, but also without the pc boot but i get black screen. I'm using 'signed' kernel, can i safely install the (unsigned) test 4.15.0-45 kernel? Kernel -43 works as expected. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1813663 Title: External monitors does not work anymore 4.15.0-44 Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in linux source package in Bionic: Confirmed Bug description: I am using a docking station for my laptop. Sorry for the very late answer, it was a busy time. I confirm that with the latest kernel (now i use 3.8.0-26-generic) problem is fixed Thanks. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1181616 Title: Incompatibilities between nvidia propietary kernel module and snd_hda_codec_hdmi kernel module Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I've found that problem both on my portable (Lenovo Thinkpad T510) and fixed (Acer Veriton M290), both equipped with a nvidia video card, after upgrading to raring (so, kernel 3.8). roughly 90% of the time the computer boot, OOPS, and then: 1) sometime X does not run (black screen), but i can ssh to the machine 2) sometime X start, but machine was problematic (hangs, there's no way to suspend it, ...) the rest of 10% of the time, start well. After fiddling a bit with, i've found that it suffices to blacklist the 'snd_hda_codec_hdmi' (i don't need hdmi audio) and both pc now works flawlessy.
