I do not recall having any wireless issues before I upgraded (when
  this machine was running Bionic).

  Bug #1730331 - ath10k_pci: firmware crashed!
  Bug #1627474 - ath10k_pci :03:00.0: firmware crashed! (uuid n/a) [16.10]
could be related, but appear to be related to earlier releases, whereas my
issue has appeared/become much worse on Cosmic.

2020-07-01 Thread Mike Meehan
This broke again for me on upgrade from Bionic to Cosmic on the Dell XPS
9380. When it starts to go bad it requires a reload of the driver every
10 minutes or so. The dmesg log says "device successfully recovered, but
it fails to rejoin any wifi networks and doesn't work properly until I
rmmod ath10k_pci; modprobe ath10k_pci. dmesg logs follow, I'm on the
latest 4.4.1 firmware (not sure if I need c1/c2/c3)

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1807974] Re: Wireless regularly breaking (ath10k firmware crashed!) after upgrade to Cosmic

2019-07-21 Thread Mike Meehan
Ok, looks like I was still running an older firmware version. I upgraded by:

Checking out the ath10k firmware repo
https://github.com/kvalo/ath10k-firmware.git
Copying the latest firmware for my card from
ath10k-firmware/QCA6174/hw3.0/4.4.1.c3/firmware-6.bin_WLAN.RM.4.4.1.c3-00035
 to /lib/firmware/ath10k/QCA6174/hw3.0/firmware-6.bin
Rebooting
Now I'm on WLAN.RM.4.4.1.c3-00035

$ sudo ethtool -i wlp2s0
driver: ath10k_pci
version: 5.0.0-20-generic
firmware-version: WLAN.RM.4.4.1.c3-00035
expansion-rom-version:
bus-info: :02:00.0
supports-statistics: yes
supports-test: no
supports-eeprom-access: no
supports-register-dump: no
supports-priv-flags: no

Title:
Wireless regularly breaking (ath10k firmware crashed!) after upgrade
  to Cosmic

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
I have a Dell XPS 13 9370 developer edition (Ubuntu version) running
Cosmic. A handful of times per day, my wireless stops working ("?"
appears in the icon in Network Manager). Turning wireless off and then
on again, or suspending and waking the machine up, makes the wireless
  work again.

Title:
Mouse Primary Button Will Not Switch to Right Button

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
After doing a partial distribution upgrade on Trusty Tahr, the mouse
buttons worked inconsistently. The system is set for the right mouse
button to be the primary. However, from the Launcher and desktop only
the left mouse button launched applications or displayed the desktop
  menu.

The right mouse button was primary once int Settings, but going to
Settings, Mouse and Touchpad and then switching the buttons back and
forth did not resolves the issue.

Setting the primary mouse button to Right worked fine prior to the
  upgrade.

The mouse and keyboard are Logitech wireless M185 (mouse) and K270
  (keyboard).
