Title:
  kernel BUG at fs/ext4/inode.c:2679!

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
I started seeing this bug in Ubuntu 18.04 running VMWare Workstation
Pro 14. After upgrading to Ubuntu 18.10 and VMware Workstation 15 the
bug still appears. I started to ask questions on the VMware Community,
  https://communities.vmware.com/thread/604705. Because I had some
additional time to troubleshoot I am also noticing that this bug is
being reported on other Linux Distributions notably:
  https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1662314

Conditions to reproduce. Laptop is running 2 NVMe drives with Cryptfs
on each drive (unsure if this is related). Running Vmware Workstation
Pro 15 with a Windows 10 Guest upon shutting down the Windows Guest a
kernel stack strace appears in both dmesg -w and /var/log/syslog. The
  VM does not gracefully stop.
