Hello Jimmy, It seems that your network rejected HTTP calls to the Internet. This prevented the installer from receiving the list of packages to install (via apt-get update) from the Internet. Presumably, it could be a proxy related issue in your network. Offline install is an alternative option where packages are only installed from the media/cdrom (this excludes security updates that can only be installed at a later stage). As you noticed though, to run an offline install, you would need to either disable networking or at least disable any ipv4 / ipv6 address in the installer's network screen.
